The pictures are deceptive. This hotel is squeezed into a postage stamp sized lot with only about 4 street parking spaces in front. You have to walk a block or so away to find the parking lot around the back of a Diving Shop ... with poor lighting at that. Should have been much better planned. Pros: Close to Munich Airport, clean modern rooms, friendly/helpful staff, one of the few hotels we found offering 2 Queen beds in a single room. Cons: Breakfast and Wifi are additional costs, no A/C, location is a bit far from most Munich sites (and the S-Bahn in Erding is a 10-12 Euro cab ride away).

The hotel was very clean and the room was spacious. The restaurants were on the pricey side but the pizza/ Italian restaurant next door offered good food at a reasonable price. The hotel was difficult to locate using the GPS because our confirmation email listed the wrong city but the correct street name and number.

I have stayed at this hotel two times now when overnighting. Both times, I scheduled the shuttle days in advance and had email confirmations. Both times, there was no shuttle. Which forced me to make numerous calls, be put on hold long amounts of time...while I am calling on international roaming. Had to wait over an hour for the shuttle to get there, […] which ended up being a cab and the driver trying to charge me 25 Euros when the hotel already charged 15. The second issue I have is nobody is ever working at the bar/snack bar. Which is the only place to get food or coffee in the day. I always wait about 20 min then have to go find someone to ask for service. Third issue is there was no heat, and my room was freezing. Very Clean and peaceful hotel. The rooms are good size, new and fresh good towels. The staff is friendly but dont ask for any recommendation. The only downside was the 15 euros breakfast. Not worth it at all ! Better get in the car and have breakfast someone elsewhere.

Great room. Clean, helpful, comfy beds. Little pizza joint beside hotel for late night snaks. About 10 min drive to departures of the airport. Would recommend this hotel. Not sure what is around. We stayed there 2 nights on arrival from Australia and 1 night on our departure. It is a quiet location not too close to the airport to recuperate from a long flight. We appreciated the coffee maker since we slept in and it was too late for breakfast, so a cup of coffee in bed helped us to get going. The name Mercure Muncih Airport suggested that the hotel was at or near the Munich airport, and the hotel webpage said that there was a shuttle. We phoned the hotel from the airport and learned that the shuttle had to be booked in advance. Then we learned that the hotel was a distance--several villages--from the airport and not on the subway line. We […] would either have to take a bus to the village and walk or take a cab. The cab cost 35 euros, and the cab driver had difficulty finding the hotel since the address given on the reservation was wrong. When we checked in we learned that we had to pay 20 euros for the shuttle back to the airport the next morning. Although the rooms were nice, the bargain hotel was no bargain. We could have stayed at the very nice Hotel Klempinski at the Munich airport for the cost of the Mercure plus transportation. No surprise the place was empty, and there was no free breakfast like at the Mercure in Berlin. We won't ever stay at the Mercure Munich Airport again. Read more
