Luxury resorts, sprawling golf courses, and white sands line the Kohala Coast – Waikoloa. Hawaii’s sunniest coast is a must-go for beachgoers. It is also known as the cradle to King Kamehameha, Hawaii’s greatest king. His influence can be seen at the nearby Pu’ukohola Heiau National Historic Site, where visitors can see the temple of war he built before unifying the Hawaiian Islands.

It is an odd lay out, and not very Hawaiian in it's decor. Our room was clean on check in but the next morning when we returned from a swim there was a terrible odor in the room. The location is fabulous with great views.

We obtained a great deal on a room here for late summer. Even though the hotel is extremely fancy, absolutely huge and has a breathtaking view of the ocean, be prepared to know that there is no where close for outside of the resort for shopping; dining or siteseeing. Just the ocean. Be prepared to drive a minimum of 15-25 minutes for first sight of restaurants outside of the hotel. Not convienent for families on a budget.

Before choosing this hotel I read alot of reviews and also noted that some well known travel books didn't even list or recommend this property...my question is why? The hotel sits on one of the most beautiful beaches in Hawaii. The grounds are for the most part were well groomed and the rooms were exceptional. It is more of a resort for golfers (which I'm not) but loved the beach and view. Breakfast was very nice on the terrace overlooking the ocean. On the slight downside it is a 40-60 minute drive to the Kona area depending on traffic. But even that isn't too bad and knew it before booking. Close your lanai doors before morning as the birds can be quite noisey at 5am.

Just returned from a spring break trip to the Big Island ... am so glad that we stayed at the Hapuna Prince hotel. Compared to the other hotels (Hilton, Marriott and Sheraton), the Hapuna Prince Hotel actually has a soft sandy beach. The other hotels did not have any sandy beach, just rocks ... but the other hotels do have better pools. I would personally trade a extra-large pool with slides for a soft sand beach ... hence am very glad with the Hapuna Prince. And for golf lovers, you have a great course to practice on your hooks and slices.

Hotel staff was not very friendly. It took us several attempts to finally find a good room in the hotel. We caution other guests to stay away from the Garden View Rooms, they smell and have bugs. Our Ocean View Room was very comfortable. The best features of this resort is the clean and private Hapuna Beach and excellent resort pool. Great place for a family vacation if you're willing to discount the not-so-friendly staff.

The only thing bad about this hotel is that if you are going to spend much time on the other side of the island, you will spend a lot of time driving.

We loved the Hapuna Beach hotel. This is a very nice hotel on one of the most beautiful white sandy beaches of Hawaii. The services were great. The staff were friendly and knowledgable about where to go for dinner when asked. The poolside cafe served reasonable priced lunch and drinks. The pool is heated and the beach was spectacular. Valet parking was complimentary. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Spent 5 days here on honeymoon. Place was very relaxing. Enjoyed many cocktails by the pool and strolls on the beach. Was very quite which was great, not sure if this is because of the economy or if it's always so peaceful. Food in great and staff were extremely courteous and friendly.

L'auto si può noleggiare direttamente all'hotel e lasciarla l'ultimo giorno all'aeroporto, comodissimo.
