My stay really had two pieces: the regularly scheduled 2-night business trip and the emergency stay-over when Houston had torrential rains. The hotel was basically great both times. The first stay was marred only by the difficulty reaching it. I had a rental car and a map; I could see the hotel but could not find the route that took me there. It involved […] an obscure, poorly marked ramp to the expressway which I didn't want to take but had to use to access the frontage road to the hotel. Very complex and not at all explained. The emergency stay over was also good accommodations once I reached the hotel. When my flight was canceled I was able to make a reservation at a good price via an online service from my laptop but when I called the hotel to request the shuttle, I was told that the shuttles could not run due to flooded streets. The desk clerk advised me to take a cab. (How could the cabs negotiate the flood if the shuttle could not?) I found a fabulou8s cab driver who delivered me safe and dry. He is the true hero of this story. With just hotel staff, I'd have been on a foldaway cot in the airport. But the taxi got me where I needed to go despite water in the streets past the hubcaps. Hotel was clean and looked real nice. My daughter enjoyed the class elevators. The indoor pool and workout area was very good. Their restuarant was pricey costed $60.00for a small family of 3 to eat.

Staff was extremely friendly and very helpful, even at 2:00 am. Breakfast buffet was wonderful. Room was clean, Ice machine on 5th floor was not functioning properly, and soda machine ate one of my quarters, but I just went to the fourth floor and all was good on both accounts. We were right next to the elevators and heard nothing. TV channel selections […] were heavy with sports, but what can you expect from Houston, Texas. Everything was good except there was barely any cable stations. I was disappointed that they advertise premium channels, movie channels and satelite stations on hotels.com. They did have HBO and Showtime but a small selection of channels overall.

While the Houston Marriott South at Hobby is not a luxury hotel compete with spas, etc. that's ok because it's not what they claim to be nor is it thier model for this particular property. I will say this: the room was great, I was with my 3 boys and they bumped me to a suite. The breakfast was really good, location was key as we were going to the Space […] Center and was very close to the airport. Parking was secure, pool was fun for the boys and the service was great. I left a shirt and cufflinks behind and housekeeping found them and are mailing them back to me. All in all my stay was perfect. I recommend this hotel without reservation. Read more

Excellent value. The stay was fine for a quick place to stay near the airport. We decided to use the hot tub and it had quite a few floaties in it including a bandaid so we didn't stay in it very long due to the cleanliness. The breakfast buffet was well worth the $ with lots to choose from and plenty of healthy options. Stayed before and after cruise from Galveston. Other than slight airport pickup delay everything was fine. Personnel particularly friendly and helpful. Did not use restaurant so no comment on food. Room clean and fresh. Will stay again. Nice job!!

The room was clean and comfortable, and the TV actually worke when I plugged in my DVD player! My only complaint would be that they tell you you can log on to the Internet but then you can only get to the login screen where it charges you 13 bucks. What a jip! I would definitely stay here again, otherwise!

I loved it, booked this hotel for a cheap price. Rooms were really comfee. The housekeeping was really sweet and the front desk people. Plenty of parking and always a event going on inside so you can get a good view looking down at them. Hottub and pool was good temp. Overall my stay was all right. My room was a little chilly and I wasn't able to adjust the thermostat comfortably. I was disappointed that I was not able to get a refrigerator and microwave in my room. I was grateful for the shuttle service. Most of the staff was customer-focused and friendly. Unfortunately, there was a roach in my room.

Biggest disappointment was that it wasn't close enough to the cruise port, it was on the wrong side of the airport and cruise port. The shuttle service from the airport was totally unprepared to pick us up, however, the shuttle service on departure day to cruise port was very organized and the service was excellent. The hotel cafe food was much better […] than expected, the staff service was excellent, they try VERY hard to please the guests.
