I've not stayed elsewhere in Sydney so it's a little tough to compare, but this was definitely lacking typical hotel services without being much cheaper than the competition. What you get for that is a nicely modern, reasonably large and clean room, if a bit noisy. The lobby is shoebox sized and the desk staff are also the concierge, bell hops and baristas. […] They crammed a cafe in the lobby and if the desk clerk is brewing a cappuccino, you'll need to wait to check in. No one was available to help with bags due to the number of people in the lobby at the time. There's also no storage, so everyone checking bags for a few hours after check out simply piled them visibly behind the front desk. The location was certainly in the heart of shopping on Pitt and felt safe and secure, just a bit lacking of amenities for the price. Read more

The room & decoration are quite good. Unfortunately the road's noise is important and thicker windows should definitely be installed. It would then be a very nice hotel even for a long stay. Now it is worth only for a short stay.

The location and the hotel staff in the main were fantastic. What was a major letdown was the requested quiet room was over the main road junction with a bar below. The cleaning staff in the hotel were more than hit and miss - during the 8 night stay the bedding was changed once, everyday towels, soaps and even the loo roll was forgotten making the […] room a joke. The Internet was free and that's the good bit - getting a signal is possible while on the loo but not any other part of the room. We very much enjoyed our stay at Park8 Sydney. Had a great location in the heart of the city, walking distace to Pitt Street Mall etc. Hotel staff were excellent and friendly. Rooms were clean, tidy and the beds were very comfortable. Bathrooms were a great size and clean. Overall, an excellent stay.

Boutique hotel in a great location next to Hyde Park, shopping and darling harbour. The staff were great, friendly and helpful and the hotel does try hard to hide its flaws, modern and tastefully decorated. We stayed at the Park8 hotel a couple of weekends ago overnight. it was clean the receptions staff were very helpful. The only complaint I would have is that we had a broken light in out bathroom that was flickering, we reported it when we arrived at the hotel, but unfortunately the maintenance crew did not get around to fixing it.

First night Sat. Bed sheets moved and nightlife noisy. Asked reception to ask housekeeping to tuck sheets in tightly, and reception offered to move us to a higher floor away from noise. Monday we got a call from hotel as they only had us staying for 2 nights though we had booked 3 nights with expedia.com. On arrival back to our room at 4 pm housekeeping had not been done and there was no replacement of coffee, tea, sugar and milk so I went to reception to ask with we could have some coffee and sugar but they sent housekeeping. We went out for about a hour and on return housekeping still did not replace coffee and sugar. There was no towel rails to hang hand towel or bath towels, could see holes in wall where they were. We stayed at the Park8 in March for three nights. Frontdesk staff were very friendly and helpful. Alex in particular was great. We had one of the rooms with frosted windows (to screen the building next door, which is apparently very close). This means there was hardly any daylight and I had to check the tv or go outside the hotel to check what the […] weather was like. On the upside, the room was very quiet due to no street noise being audible. The bed was huge and comfortable. So was the bathroom (although the grouting in the shower could have done with a thorough scrub in parts). Hotel staff attended to our needs and queries very promptly. We were given an early check in which was promising but it was mostly downhill from there. The room had no double-glazing and traffic noise went 24 hours making sleeping difficult. A kitchenette is part of the room package but there were no utensils other than other than fridge and jug for tea/coffee. Very noisy air conditioning unit which made no difference […] to room temperature regardless of setting. Drain in shower could not handle water which meant standing in inches of water, also tap fell off shower. We advised hotel staff who were very pleasant but nothing was fixed during our stay. It was a good price for a VERY centrally located hotel - 200m from supermarket, train station, and everything within 20-30 minute walk - Circular Quay at limit.
