The staff at the Holiday Inn Washington - Georgetown was absolutely amazing! Check-in and check-out was quick and convenient. The shuttle driver was extremely friendly. The hotel was a great value for the price. The only shortcoming was that the television in my room did not have good reception for the basic network channels. "Very pleasant stay - helpful and welcoming staff-"
We took our granddaughter for an overnight trip with the intention of going to Smithsonian Museum. Because the weather was very hot, we decided to just visit the nearby town of Georgetown. She enjoyed going into the various shops on M street as well as the good eating places. We recommend you take the free shuttle from hotel to M street. During evening […] hours you can get on a buss for a $ 1 per person at M street in Georgetown and return to hotel. Parking downtown Georgetown is very expensive if you cannot park on the street. We were very pleased with our experience at the Holiday Inn. The location is ideal and with the shuttle to the Mall we never had to get in our rental car. The staff was very friendly and helpful. "Georgetown is great"
Rooms are very clean, hotel service very friendly, Georgetown has lots to do and see. I was surprised at check in that there was a charge for parking your car in their very crowded, open (not enclosed) parking area. this was a holiday w/e so there were a lot of people staying there, but it was impossible to find a space in the lot after coming back […] to the room after dark. "Economical stay in Georgetown"
The hotel is just as advertised. Clean facilities, friendly staff. Not fancy, but we didn't intend to spend much time in the hotel. The restaurant was good for breakfast. (we never had dinner there) Parking is a bit of a rip at $30 a night for an outdoor self-park lot. van shuttles run into town which sounds convenient, however they did not keep to […] the schedule and we had to call to ensure pickup. We like to walk, so the Natl. mall was walkable at 45 minutes. Overall, I liked it! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

We have stayed two nights in this nice hotel to celebrate 4th of July. Hotel provided to and from shuttle to National Mall area. We were just there for one night while visiting Georgetown University. The price was reasonable considering the location but parking was an extra $30 per day. Chose this hotel for its proximity to American University. Its location and quiet rooms were an excellent choice. The shuttle service was fast, prompt and friendly for our travel needs. "All an issue of location"
So for whatever reason I though the hotel was a few blocks from GW (and thus Foggy Bottom), not a few blocks from Georgetown. Not a big deal, but Georgetown isn't especially accessible or interesting to a business traveler. The hotel is deep in Georgetown and the only way to get around is a cab (about ten bucks and 10-30 minutes depending on traffic), […] or the bus which works quite well. Still, for the price the location was fine and it's quite a nice hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"I Expected Better Value @ Holiday Inn Washinton~"
The rooms were clean and the staff was mostly attentive & courteous. However, one gal, *her name is "Faisha", called me at 12:15 pm on the day I was suposed to check out at 12:00 noon, and asked me: "Are you ever going to check out?" then she hung up on me. This call came after a male housekeeper walked in on me dressing to leave the room and check […] out. They do not give any "Do Not Disturb" signs in the room. * at least not in my room. I had called the front desk asking for one and for a late check out, this was what I got instead... The male, weekend housekeeper walked in as he was knocking... I had also asked where the safe might be and was told to put any personal items in the main hotel safe. **Quite frankly, I was shocked that there was no safe in the rooms for a person to stash any personal valuables, it is fairly much the standard everywhere! The weekday housekeeper,"Anna", was wonderfully helpful and attentive however. When I left to check out at 12:17 pm, the entire 2nd floor was full of bins of electrical wiring & fire alarm sprinklers, which I had to step around and over as if running an obstacle course. "Nice but needs update"
This is a nice hotel but the physical condition is somewhat poor. The bathroom in particular was past its prime, and not only would I not take a bath in it, there was no way to plug the drain so I could not take one had I wanted to. The room appeared clean. The hotel is not too convenient to tourist destinations, but the hotel-provided shuttle is nice […] and the hotel is right by the inexpensive and frequent Circulator bus. The hotel is not close to National Airport nor is free shuttle service to/from the airport provided. Staff members were pleasant and competent. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Right in DC's nicest neighborhood!"
Nice clean room, close to Georgetown where all the nice restaurants and shops are, delicious breakfast and very friendly service in the restaurant. What we did not like was the expensive parking (so park your car elsewhere!), the fact that only 2 breakfast vouchers were offered per night while we booked for our family of 4. "Customer Service was terrible"
The women at the front desk were terribly rude. The men at the front desk were much more professional. We asked for a refrigerator for our room by calling the front desk. The woman who answered the call gave me a daily rate which I repeated back to her. I called back to the desk to confirm and was given a higher daily rate at which point I repeated […] what the woman told me. The front desk gentleman argued with me even calling the woman to refute what i was told. She lied and stated that she had not given me that quote. They finally conceded and gave me the lower price. The next day while lying in our room with our 2 children our door was unlocked by KEY and 3 men with guns came in. Gratefully they were police officers who were staying for a convention. When I called the front desk to tell them that they had assigned our room to someone else (we still had 3 days left to our stay), they giggled. What if our children had been in there alone and these weren't police officers? To 'fix' the mistake they gave us a free breakfast. It was a very uncomfortable situation. The two bright spots were the waitress in the restaurant and the gentlemen at the concierge desk. They were very nice and helpful. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"First Experience in Georgetown"
I enjoyed my stay at the Holiday Inn-Georgetown for the most part. The staff was friendly and more than accommodating. I had one incident in which one of the cable channels was not playing any sound. excellent place in great location. the staff very nice especially Abby in the restaurant...very clean...Genuine Expedia guest review
Holiday Inn Washington-Georgetown was a great location for the event my family attended during Memorial Day weekend. It is also very close to downtown Georgetown where we enjoyed great food and boutiques. Now, the hotel itself is extremely basic, the room was neat and basic, the tub/shower needs to be resurfaced, and the worst part for me was the parking […] fee ($30). With the hotel being old, no frills, why are they charging patrons to pay for parking. To be fair, I called the hotel front desk to request a trash can (there was none in the room) and they offered to move us to another room, because housekeeping was gone. My husband offered to get the key to that room, and get that trash can oppose to us moving to a new room after we had prepared for bed after a long ride. My husband retrieved the trash can, however, it would have been nice if someone else that worked for the hotel would have taken car of this. Just not good customer service. The price we paid was ok, but the only reason this hotel can get away with charging what they do, is because of the LOCATION. So, if you just need a place to lay your head and your fun and excitement is somewhere else, you are fine choosing Holiday Inn Washington-Georgetown. However, in my opinion, you will not want to stay in the room for any length of time, this is not the place. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice hotel, friendly saff"
The hotel staff was awesome, from check-in, to the waiter/waitresses. The food was delicious and the restaurant was clean. The hotel has a shuttle that runs every 15-20 min. that can take you to the Metro station, so you have easy access. The disappointing aspect of the hotel was the room. The bed was comfy, as were the pillows, but the room we stayed […] in was in need of updating and a good cleaning. The room in general was tolerable, but could have been detailed and cleaned more thoroughly. The gym is located in another facility, but was great. Other than that, I would go back, because of the location, decent price and great staff. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I choose this hotel because of two things a) it was close to my main destination point and b) it provided a shuttle to deliver my family and I to the places we needed to go most. This hotel met these expectations. However, I ended up paying way more than I feel it was worth ($315 per night). This higher price was so that we could have three adults and […] two small children (4 and 2 years). If the price had been $150, I would have expected what we experienced. ...The negatives were mainly: a) only two people were given the complementary breakfast, the rooms were not clean, not in good repair, the first person we met at the desk was rude and very inhospitable, and there was smoking in other rooms nearby for two nights of the three. ....A pleasant surprise was the very nice breakfast for those who did get to have breakfast - very nice! ....Maybe the issue is that I had higher (possibly not realistic, but I don't think so) expectations that were not realized. Thanks. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"In need of a remodeling"
This hotel is very old and has not been updated in years. Basically, it's an over priced property that can charge a higher than worthwhile rate because of its location. The Internet server is very slow. The food was passable but not for the price (appetizers and dinners).Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very good hotel for Georgetown visit."
This was a very good hotel for its price. No complaints at all and the beds (had two double beds) were very comfortable. Staff was very attentive. Only draw back was that it was difficult to get to downtown DC. Metra is 1.5 miles away, but has city bus (Circular) with bus stop a block from hotel ($1 fare) that takes you to Union Station (45 min ride […] during rush hour.) Cab ride, one way, between $20-25. "Staff a problem"
I was awakened late in the evening by someone trying to get in the room. Someone else had apparently been assigned to the room by mistake. The individual went away - I did not call the desk but figured I would talk to them in the morning. It was very late - after midnight. About 20 minutes later I was reawakened by the desk wanting to know who I was […] in a very rude, insistent manner. When I complained to the manager in the morning they apologized and promised to give me the equivalent of a night's stay in points with the frequent stay awards system. Didn't do it and when I followed up the last day of my stay, hadn't done it and I never heard back from them. This experience put me off on Holiday Inns for the immediate future. Generally, staff were not that knowledgeable about the area and transportation. Their shuttle is not at all reliable. When I asked about the transportation, they did not mention that the Circulator (a handy D.C. bus that takes one from Georgetown to the Mall and other D.C. areas of interest) for only $1) had a stop directly opposite the Hotel and that this was probably the easiest way to get around from the hotel, since it is not really close to a metro stop. Actually nicer than I thought a Holiday Inn would be, but one bad service experience kinda ruined everything. They had complimentary coffee in the lobby, and the two large containers were out. For some reason this was not a problem easily solved, and after being sent to the restaurant, waiting and then and being told I could not fill my cup, I left […] without coffee. It's in a great, safe neighborhood with restaurants and coffee within walking distance. Close to bus, far from Metro. Use the bus to metro. Use the the Circulator bus to Union Station etc.. Hotel shuttle worked for us to get to and from mall and zoo; drivers were nice and hard working. Nice, long walk to M Street in Georgetown. Alot of walking no matter […] what in D.C. After explaining a small situation when checking in I was assured it would be taken care of. The next morning I talked to the priority check in Manager who was not only unaware of the situation but deferred to a co-worker. As it was time for breakfast they assured me it would be taken care of that afternoon. When I arrived back at Hotel at 11:00 pm […] I was locked out of my room. The night manager re-keyed my card and finally handled the situation. It should not have required three separate interventions by four different managers. I would like to add the Concierge service was excellent. As I spent the vast majority of time outside the hotel that was the best part of the service. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
