There's a $25 per day parking fee that we were surprised with, but other than that it was an enjoyable stayGenuine Expedia guest review
"BEtter hotels for the money"
Poor room service, made mistakes in my orders, food was cold when arrived. Left my hat in room and front desk gave me a key to go back and get, when I went back someone was already checked into room. Won't go back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice room & great location by Bay & restaurants on Indigo street.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very close to city/downtown"
Room was clean, comfortable. Staff is very nice and friendly. Only complaints are that the room had no fridge, walls of room were thin so could hear guests in other rooms easily, and parking was 24 dollars a dayGenuine Expedia guest review
"Over charged with velvet parking ."
I was overcharged with vallet parking . People in the front desk have no idea about what they are doingGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not So Good"
There was no spa at this property, no bathtub in the room, and no restaurant/lounge. Not up to my expectations for a Wyndham hote.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"San Diego getaway"
Went to San Diego for a getaway with friends. Had to park on the 2nd level of the parking garage and no way to get to the first floor except to lug our suitcases down 2 flights of stairs and then back up again when we left. The restaurant/lounge attached to the hotel was closed down, so that was an inconvenience. Other than that the room was fine.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Don't count on the mcrd shuttle."
The hotel over books the shuttle. They "may" have another shuttle. Not something you want to worry about on your graduation week. Just take a taxi. It took maybe ten minutes to get to us and cost less than $20. When leaving the depot, call a taxi to gate 4 (by the px) and there isn't a line. A worry free way to go.Genuine Expedia guest review
"n Diego Visited from the Harbor Drive Wyndham"
The single strongest aspect of this property is its location. It lends itself well to enjoying the many attractions which are based in the downtown area: Harbor cruises, Seaport Village, Horton Plaza, Petco Stadium, the Gaslamp Quarter, WWII Memorial, Headquarters Plaza, new SD Central Library, Midway Museum. Stylistically, I did not care for the decor […] of the lobby. It was long and narrow and furnished in a cursory way with what looked to me like cheap contemporary furnishings. The other negative for me was that the only "in-house" dining area was a combination convenience store/deli two doors down the street. Of course, with the fabulous San Diego weather - we were able to eat outdoors in January ( on the chipped patio furniture). Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
NiceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I had stayed here before last year. It is a large hotel and was a little odd back then as they were doing refurbishment but the location was good so I thought I would try again. The main positive last time had been the restaurant and bar which served good food and was a good place to relax after meetings. They have now closed the restaurant and bar […] with no plans to reopen. Instead they offer a Starbuck cart which transforms into a very limited bar in the evening, or the option of going to a deli around the corner. You cannot have such a large hotel, especially one that promotes itself for conferences, and not have one place where you can eat or have a drink inside. Breakfast had to be room service or outside. Not ideal. If you stay in tower 3 the wireless is also very poor. I had to work in the lobby most of the time which was not the quietest environment. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good for a quick stay near the bay"
Wyndham Hotels are consistently good places to stay, and this one is no exception. The staff is nice, the rooms are clean, and the grounds are well kept. Its within walking distance of Little Italy, which is a fantastic neighborhood, as well as the bay and wharf. The immediate location is decent, with some good restaurants nearby. Its good for a quick […] few days in good old San Diego. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Balcony with beautiful views"
Big, nice room with modern bathroom. Beautiful view. The down side was that I was in Tower 3 and felt a bit far from the front lobby -- but they still brought up the stuff I needed, etc.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Rather noisy but nice."
We stayed overnight for a little getaway. We stayed on a Saturday. The hotel itself was nice enough. The free wifi is a nice touch. Unfortunately, the hotel is very loud. We stayed in Tower 3 on the 9th floor. There were multiple other guests on the floor. Each room has a balcony that is virtually connected to the room next door, so other guests on […] the floor were up and on their balconies into rather the wee hours (about 2:30 a.m.). A call to the front desk at midnight to request they quiet down resulted in exactly nothing. A second call about an hour later got the same results. There was also quite a bit of noise from the hallway as they went back and forth from different rooms on the same floor. Other than the noise, it was a pleasant enough stay. The hotel is situated at a great spot on the Embarcadero, adjoining Ruth's Chris Steak House (where we dined) and very close to the Maritime Museum, the Midway Museum, the new Waterfront Park, and within walking distance of Seaport Village. In spite of the noise, I would stay here again (with ear plugs in tow. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"A Great Stay at Wyndham on the Bay"
Because of flight problems getting there, our two night stay became only a one night stay which was most unfortunate because we had so little time to enjoy our stay there. But for our time there, it was well spent with a very friendly, courteous staff and a comfortable room. I only hope that next time I can enjoy a bay-view room!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Standard corporate hotel, decent location"
What's to say? Used to be a Holiday Inn (I think) until Wyndham bought them. Feels like a standard corporate hotel. Rooms are a little small but clean. As a tall man I was a little disappointed with the Full-size beds (why not Queen?). Bathroom door is pretty much see-through which was awkward for our group. Location is close enough for a cheap uber […] or cab to gaslamp or a long walk. Would stay here again for the price but that's about it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not up to snuff!"
They start by telling you they have a free gift for you ... Turns out it's a "lunch" (sandwiches and chips) with a "short" (left at 1:30 got back at 5:00), non agressive talk about Wyndham (a sales pitch for time share) that ended with 2 sales people not understanding that I wasn't interested! The air didn't work the first night. The bathroom has a […] noisy sliding opaque glass door that if the noise doesn't wake your partner, the light will. I asked to have the clock fixed twice to no avail. There is no restaurant and the coffee stand closes after lunch, so you must either drink room coffee, or go out. "A pleasant hotel in San Diego."
We were just there for a couple of nights, mostly to 'say goodbye' to the Semester at Sea ship, Explorer. Our mind, therefore, was not totally on the hotel's facilities. Overall, we were very satisfied and will consider Wyndam Hotels in the future.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The place has very nice view only if you take sea viewGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel on the harbor, near airport!"
If you want to see the harbor, you must request a bay view room. It was great to sit from room and balcony to watch the harbor with ships coming in and leaving. It was also great to watch airplanes land and take off.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great water front location in San Diego"
The Wyndham Bayside hotel is a great location to experience the San Diego bayfront area. The hotel is clean, hosts a friendly staff and is very pet friendly. The hotel rooms are modern, clean and comfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great view, small rooms"
You won't find a better view of the bay anywhere in San Diego. The rooms are smallish and moderately furnished, but clean.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Million Dollar Views at Affordable Price"
Great Stay. While the hotel is old, but they have been updating the grounds and hotel rooms. We stayed in Tower 2. The rooms were newer and remodeled. We had a Bayside View which is fantastic. The hotel is right on the waterfront and close to both the water attractions and downtown.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice clean rooms"
The only negative about this hotel is that there is no restaurant on site. The deli associated with the hotel was ok but not really a desirable place to eat for us.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Perfect hotel in the best area"
Was upgraded for fun since it was my first time. Perfect location super close to everythingGenuine Expedia guest review
First room we had was cold, temperatures in San Diego were very cold outside. We had an upper floor room. We requested a change to a lower floor, they were very nice and moved us immediately. the staff was great. My only complaint is right next to the concierge desk was a woman and man sales team trying to sell the "new" version of time shares and god […] knows what else. They were very aggressive and annoying. Whenever we were waiting to talk with the concierges they would hound us endlessly. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good for New Year Experience"
Very good hotel although room noisy something flapping all night & couldn't figure out where it came from! Moved to 10th floor great view of bay however planes started to fly at 6am but knew that from other reviews. Very accommodating hotel staff & Norma got a reservation on NY Eve !Genuine Expedia guest review
The staff was very helpful (except for the lady running the morning food cart). My room on the other hand was filthy when I checked in. I was given a complimentary food cart pass (because of the room) that the lady at the food cart wouldn't honor. This happened after I waited 15 minutes in line with my 3 kids & then she made a production out of it with […] 4 people in line behind me. I was embarrassed for my kids & myself. It was because she tried to accuse me of altering the date on the card (the guy at the front desk inadvertently wrote the wrong date & then corrected it) at which point I said "honestly I am not trying to beat you out of $7.00 worth of food". Just a bad all around experience for me but maybe it was an exception. I loved San Diego though. I did register a complaint and they did respond to my satisfaction but I would have preferred that none of it happened Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice hotel and close to the Midway Carrier"
Nice hotel and close to the Midway aircraft carrier (recommend touring). Ruth's Chris steak house is next door so that's a plus. If you use the concierge be prepared for a hard sales pitch on free dinner if you attend their time-share seminar (ugh). Parking fees are steep at $35 per day (plus tips).Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Experience at the Wyndham Bayside San Diego"
Check in was easy. The valets were very friendly and so was the bell hop. Service was great, and the front desk was accommodating and helpful! The heat in the room did not work at first, and it was actually pretty cold during our stay in SD, but someone was sent and they were able to fix the problem. Wyndham was in a great location, close to the GasLamp […] Quarter on 5th, several downtown attractions, and also close to Richard Walker's Pancake House, which was great! Highly recommended if staying in downtown in San Diego. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Pig with lipstick"
Staff was incompetent. Manager had to rescue him. They tried to put us in a double twin bed twice! Manager came in and "suddenly" found a king size bed. AC did not work at all. Actually blew out hot air. Would never stay here again. Visually very appealing. Needs major interior upgrades and staffing upgradesGenuine Expedia guest review
"Amazing views of the Bay/City"
We stayed at the Wyndham for only one night since we wanted to have a quick getaway to SD. I highly recommend it for the views it offers. The hotel is at a premium location and the view we got from our 10th floor room facing the bay was amazing! Both in day light and at night! The room was very comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. The staff […] was courteous and welcoming. The outside of the hotel needs a bit of cleaning/upgrades but overall the views are what you're after when staying here. We would stay here again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Awesome location, clean room, nicely updated, very comfortable. A great price for what we got. My only regret is that I didn't spring for a bay view room, as the view was spectacular!Genuine Expedia guest review
