"ok but needs serious updating"
We arrived around 10pm and when we got to our room our room key did not appear to be working. After exchanging it with the front desk the 2nd time, the clerk informed us that some of the door handles were installed "upside down" so that was possibly the problem...we were not sure why weren't told this from the start. When got into our room it was very […] warm and we figured out the a/c was not functioning. We contacted the front desk and the clerk stated she would send her "engineer" to the room to look at it. After 30 minutes no one arrived so we contacted the desk. The clerk stated that the a/c had already been fixed within the last couple of days so no one would be looking at it, she was short on the phone and borderline rude. We talked with the front desk clerk the following morning about the a/c and it was fixed by that afternoon when we returned. The hotel is in need of serious updates. The furniture is scratched and old and it's apparent nothing in the hotel has been updated in quite some time, including the bathrooms. For what we paid per night, I would have expected the room and hotel to be in better condition. We will not be staying at this location the next time we return to San Antonio. "Wireless Internet did not work at all"
I booked this hotel due to location and wireless internet availability. I stayed in room 446 and the wireless internet did not work at all the first night on any device. I called and complained and they said they knew about the issue but had no ETA and did not want to help me. I was pretty happy with my stay. I did have to ask for housekeeping and the internet never worked. But I had a room with a balcony overseeing the courtyard and I loved how close it was to downtown. At first I was thinking, I should have gone by what the reviews are saying, as I had called to get a king instead of a double during Spring Break, but I just have to brag on Josh H, the manager on duty. So I had to wait to talk to Josh, after a couple of minutes of telling him my frustration he was able to work out a king size bed for us (it wouldn't have been that big of a deal, but my fiancee can't fix on a double as he is 6'5). Upon check in, we were asked why we were visitng, and "upgraded" because it was our anniversary. Service was absolutely excellent. Everyone that we spoke with was warm and friendly. We booked 2 rooms and asked for them to be near each other, which I thought was common. Obviously I was wrong. We arrived to the hotel around 3:15pm and the rooms were not clean, so we had to sit in the lobby and wait for them to finish. Then, the girl at the front desk looked confused when I asked if the rooms were located next to each other. She was […] able to get us on the same floor, but complete opposite sides of the hotel. Then, we get up to our floor and the halls were lined with dirty towels, sheets, etc and cleaning crews. There was an awful smell throughout the entire floor, and our rooms - guess cleaning supplies. We finally get to our rooms and the toilets are tiny, and not set properly... every time you sat down, it made a loud noise. The shower had very discolored grout. That made me feel yucky, even after I JUST took a shower!! Our last night at the hotel we wanted to order pizza, but didn't know what was around, we went down to the front desk and the guy said the only pizza places that delivered were Papa Johns or Dominos. He was wrong. We found a flier in the lobby for a local pizza place that delivered until 1am. Then, when we checked out, we let the guy know about all of these issues and he responds with "Would you like some complimentary breakfast for these issues?" which is funny, because breakfast was included with our rooms... I arrived on a night where it was 32 degrees outside. as I waited to check in, the desk clerk and another employee were arguing about moving her van. I had to wait 1o minutes until the clerk decided to check me in. I went to my room where I found that the heater was not heating, so I decided to call the front desk for help. But the cord from the receiver […] on the phone was broken, so the phone did not work. I went downstairs to let them know. They said they would call maintenance. Maintenance never arrived, so I slept with my clothes on, a sweater and my jacket because the room was freezing. In the morning when I went to take a shower, the shower head was broken. Great! I went down again to the front desk and again, I was told that maintenance would be called. When I got back to my room, the light in the doorway and a lamp was blown out and the switch did not work. When I checked the heater again, it was not heating. After complaining again at the front desk, all they did was ask if I wanted a free breakfast for my troubles. I still had 2 nights to go, and told them that they needed to fix the problems because a free breakfast wasn't going to do it. Thankfully, the next 2 days the weather was nice and I didn't freeze. The problems were never resolved. On check out, I told the desk clerk about my experience and he said "That's not acceptable." I asked for them to call me a cab, as I had to get to the airport.
