We were staying here while Apartment hunting for several days. It was very comfortable. "Great for a pre-race stay"
I was overall satisfied. We were originally placed in a second floor room...next door to a barking dog. When we called to ask about it, the front desk informed us that pets are allowed on the second floor, but would be happy to move us if we wanted. Which they did very quickly and with great service. This is a pet-friendly hotel that has all the amenities. The hotel pool was not open when we visited, but the hotel had an arrangement with the local Gold's Gym that allowed use of their pool and sauna. This is a very nice hotel. However, it is NOT the hotel to stay at if there is an MMA event UNLESS you have something to do with the event itself! The hotel was out of control, fights, pot smoking, vulgarity & scantily clad women. We were there for a youth softball tournament with girls! The crowd had NO respect for anyone around them. Fights all over […] the place even after the event. Someone pulled the fire alarm so no one knew if the alarm was for real or if some drunk decided to pull it. There were NO managers(allegedly) present for the event. They KNEW that the event was going to be "rowdy", they should have taken precautions & had a Manager on staff so that they could keep control. Police were called to the hotel to assist. I believe that the hotel staff would have the authority to say something to people who are out of line to protect the rest of the guests, but this was NOT the case. There was TOTAL chaos!!! The beds were very comfortable, but because we were not able to sleep much (we had to be up at 6am and when the fire alarm was pulled, it was after midnight, so needless to say very MINIMAL sleep! Many tired girls for our team! I understand that the hotel cannot control how the way people behave BUT.....they SHOULS be able to put them in their spot if they are acting out of line!!! We were not on the beach in Mexico, but people were walking around the Hotel lobby carrying drinks & men were without shirts! There's a TIME & PLACE for this! After reading all the previous reviews about how poor the customer service was, I wasn't expecting much. But I have to say the staff was excellent when I was there. The front desk person was very friendly, helped me with places that delivered food to the hotel as well as places to eat that were close by. I would choose to stay at this hotel again if I needed to. It is about 15-20 min drive from the airport and they do provide a free airport shuttle. The hotel decor is beautiful. "Clean and nice but awful staff....."
The hotel facilities and room were nice for the price. The room was clean and smelled fresh. The biggest downfall was the staff. Upon check in, the clerk never greeted me. She asked my name and handed me my room card with no further conversation. When I asked my room number she acted like I was asking for free money and told me to look at the envelope […] holding the card. When I asked where we should park for close access to our room she just rolled her eyes and pointed. The bar was the only place open for dinner and the bartender/waitress was rude to my 15 year old daughter because she was in the bar (only place open even though they advertised 2 on site restaurants). The second restaurant was closed down except for the continental breakfast. The breakfast help was openly rude and unfriendly. The last straw for us was when we went to the lobby for some coffee and the staff openly ignored us while badmouthing their boss and co-workers. We arrived at midnight on Thursday, the printed confirmation we presented to the front desk apparently wasn't rec'd by the hotel so she wouldn't accept our reservation. She was of no help, we had to wait til she'd assisted another customer to ask her what we should do about our predicament... after midnight, with a sick kid who needed to get to bed... We are so happy that they offered a reduced rate during the power outage because it is DREADFUL.Room had absolutely no hot water for 7 hours and then luke warm. Room was not cleaned very well. "Trapped in a Dirty Room without Hot Water"
We didn't plan on spending 5 (and now 6) days in this particular Best Western over Christmas, but an ice storm (no electricity) put us here. We arrived to a nice, clean room. We knew it was going to be a hectic holiday, with three little kids in a hotel room, but we were ready for it and ready to make the best of it. The first sign that this hotel wasn't […] the best choice came when we went down for breakfast the first day (my parents, who'd made the reservation since we didn't have power, had said they thought breakfast was included). My husband went down with one daughter and was served. When I went downstairs with my 5-year old we were told "No. You don't get breakfast. Expedia people don't pay enough for breakfast." We've had no hot water throughout the trip. Yesterday the water was turned off altogether, for the entire afternoon. If we needed a toilet we could go down and walk across the hotel to use the public one. But the worse part has had to be the lack of cleaning services. The room was cleaned after our first night here and then not again for five days. Yesterday I cleaned it for two hours, taking out bags of trash and moving everything off the floors and beds (and taking most of our belongings home) so that it would be easy for the maid to clean. We came home to a filthy room that "had been cleaned." "did not exceed expectations this time"
Because I booked one night through Expedia and added another night through the direct website, I was unable to have the same room for the two consecutive nights. I had spoken to the front desk upon check in the prior weekend and requested to have the same room although I was under two different confirmation numbers. I was told that would be the case. […] However, as I was to find out, that due to hotel policies, they had to put me in two different rooms, even though the room reserved for the second night (Saturday) was unoccupied on Friday. The Hotel Manager was not on site and could only be called for "emergencies" so the issue could not be resolved at check-in. Considering this was the busiest weekend of the college football season, I was surprised no manager was on site from Friday at 5pm until Saturday afternoon. Thank goodness the housekeeping staff helped transition us to the new room on Saturday morning before the game, which demonstrated that someone has some sense of customer service. Both were King bed rooms. The additional expense of cleaning two rooms versus one makes no sense.
