"Great location but poorly maintained and operated"
I had numerous complaints during my stay. Starting with Internet service being unavailable for over 24 hours, clogged sink in the kitchen area, sliding bathroom door that would constantly stick, water leaking through the shower onto the bathroom floor and general responsiveness in service when speaking to the front desk. In addition to the issues mentioned […] I had to call and request a refridgerator for a suite. The one delivered was replaced a day later and the original fridge was left in the middle of the suite for the entire stay. I was also told that to get a microwave I would have to pay a fee. This is the first i have ever heard of having to pay for such ammenities which are usually standard in a regular hotel room much less a suite. The only bright spot of this hotel was its location. "Excellent location and fantastic hotel"
I am very happy to get Hyatt Regency Hotel through Expedia for $104/night for 3 days. When I booked this hotel, I entered 4 persons but we went there 5 persons. One of our family member wanted to go there at the last moment for only 1 day. Besides, we went there around 1 pm when check-in time was 4 pm. I personally arranged our Canada trip. So, I was […] really afraid for these situations. But to my surprise, the hotel staff very nicely told me that we all can stay and our room was ready. Besides the I became very very happy because without requesting them or saying them anything, my problems were solved. The hotel location is superb. The hotel is very nice and fantastic. The view from the room window is mind-blowing. From the corridor window besides the elevator, the CN Tower at night looks absolutely stunning. We celebrate our baby's birthday in the hotel room. Wonderful experience. There is an attached starbucks with the hotel to enjoy coffee. Besides, there is a shopper's drug mart to buy everyday products. Hotel pool and tea in the room is free. Every morning, one of the friendly hotel staff showed me how to get to the point of attractions by public transportation using the map. It helped me a lot. Check-out was also very easy. I just gave back the hotel key and that's it. They did not charge me any resort fee like other hotels. The hotel was located in the heart of an exciting big city area. The room, however, was so small that we had to up grade to a suite in order to be comfortable. Staff was extraordinarily helpful. Many of these hotel reviews resemble each other, swinging from radically positive to radically negative, with no space in between (usually under the influence of emotion). I'm going to be a bit different, and say this hotel was just moderately good, not spectacularly good. The lobby was clean and interesting, but the giant Johnny Depp picture was awkward […] and overdone. The room was good, but Hyatt has this distressing habit of hiding the towels from you. Halfway into my stay, I noticed there were towels underneath the sink, a fact which, if I'd discovered earlier, would have saved me from over-using and abusing the slim little towel they had left initially in the bathroom. Also, my panoramic window, presenting a picture of Toronto in it all its glory, also faced an outdoor patio area that was, I concede, unused, but I'd hate to wake up in the morning, turn over, and see a conclave of corporate raiders chatting in the morning light, watching me. What was good? The rate, on Expedia, was great (prepaid); the location of the hotel was fantastic; the staff and cleaning lady were prompt, professional and helpful; and there were absolutely no "hiccups" - my stay went smoothly. I would have preferred a bigger shower, an abundance of towels, and a toilet that didn't sound like it was flushing my fluids all the way to the Atlantic Ocean. "great beds, close to sights"

A stupid glass panel between bathroom & bedroom woke me up each time my husband went to bathroom at nite and turned on the light inside bathroom. Great location, lobby is really nice, staff helpful and friendly, Starbucks attached to the lobby. The room was adequate and the bed very comfortable with very fresh crisp linens. I agree with other reviews that state the cleanliness of the rooms is not excellent, but it was far from terrible. The room just seemed to need a deep cleaning and a bit of […] maintenance (caulking in shower, carpet steam cleaned, laminate repaired). The biggest frustration I had was that every day my room keys would stop working. I would get all the way up to my room and not be able to open my door. So I'd have to traipse back down and get them reprogrammed. The hotel staff was very helpful and nice. The bed was very uncomfortable, our sheets were not changed in 3 days. They did not restock room items; cups, coffee, enough towels. Hotel is as advertised.. Great location in the middle of the entertainment district. Perfect walking distance from almost anything you could possibly want to do in the city. "Good Central Location...."
I booked for a king room and got a queen room instead. I hope it cost the same..I will have to check on this later. The room was not quite as clean when I first checked in(coffee maker used, half-opened bottled water on table, one towel and half-empty toiletries in the bathroom. But housekeeping did a good job correcting all of this, while I was out […] the next day. The hotel is convenient to restaurants, the Metro Convention Ctr(5-10 minute walk), the Rogers Ctr(Toronto Blue Jay stadium) and the CN Tower. They had a problem on weekends with their underground trains, but to walk to Chinatown, or the Eaton Ctr, for examples, were not a problem, if you are not in a rush. I attended a conference for a week, and the Hyatt Regency was a great location to go to the convention ctr and pretty much everywhere else. I was in Toronto for a film festival at the TIFF which is a block away. It was a great location with so many restaurants and bars, and a short cab ride away from other fun stuff. I had a great view of the CN Tower and city from my room. The bed was so comfortable. The staff were very nice. They do charge for wireless each day, but because of how great […] a hotel rate I got, it didn't really bother me. There were also no big drawers in my room or a towel rack, but that wasn't a big deal. My friend had them in his room, but I didn't. If I ever go back to Toronto, this is where I will stay! The Hyatt Toronto was in a perfect location in the city. Within two blocks are many restaurants, bars with music and theators. The rooms were plenty comfortable.
