The hotel is very nice. The service was friendly. The room itself was great. It was clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable and relaxing. Everything was wonderful until we went to sleep and woke up at 7am because of someone yelling in the hallway. After that, we just realized how badly the room lacked soundproofing from the halls and the other rooms. […] I believe after that, the room next door was playing music while showering. I could hear carts being pushed down the hall. I even heard the room next door drop some sort of cap (maybe toothpaste cap) on the counter. My most annoyed moment was when I heard the girl casually ask, "Do you want this letter?" Basically, if I wanted to, I could have listened into their entire conversation... and vice versa. The hotel was very nice. The pool/spa/sauna were definitely enjoyed by the entire family. The restaurant left something to be desired for breakfast, which is the only meal we ate at the hotel.

My family has been using the Allgauer's restaurant in this Hilton for as long as I can remember, but this is the first time I stayed at the hotel as an out of town visitor. Although there's now a flashy new hotel across the street, the Northbrook Hilton has been relatively hidden from the mainstream traffic, and still is to a slightly lesser extent. […] Access to the hotel is easy for locals and loyal Hilton customers. But until the rise of GPS it has been hard for walk-ins to find, which I see as a benefit. Because of the low traffic holiday weekend I was upgraded to the executive floor, with extra perks that had been removed from the deal for the price that I took. So I got to have my cake and eat it too! The room was very nice, with HDTV and a real Ethernet cable for Internet. The Internet service itself was poor, and the daily renewals (even when wired) were a pain. Housekeeping was superb. Read more

I attended a two day seminar at the hotel. The hotel was very clean, the staff were congenial - however it is not close to any industry or retail. There is a spectacular hiking trail adjacent to the hotel but that is the only activity. It is in a very secluded area.

We stayed one night before a figure skating competition at the Northbrook Ice Arena so proximity and price were a factor when we selected this hotel. I would stay there again for the same purpose... Very clean rooms and bathrooms (although tight), and reasonably priced and tasty in-room dining options. The room had a little fridge and microwave.

Bathrooms were small, but functional. Otherwise, staff was kind and helpful. The shuttle service the hotel recommended from airport to hotel was great, constantly checking up on our flight, since it was late, and was ready and waiting for us at the door.

This hotel was very close to where I was traveling to for work, which was very convenient. It was nice, quiet, and relaxing. The hotel internet was not free, and the restaurant in the hotel was overpriced, but the overall stay was great. I'll actually be staying here again in two weeks when I return.

The hotel was just nice for me. It's pretty big and somewhat fancy. Would I stay again, yes. We were there just for the evening to swim in the pool and very hot-hot tub to rest before my sons hockey game that following morning. The hotel room was clean and all the workers were extremely nice.

All seemed to be in good order. I found the restaurant. was not particularly clean. Noticed lots of dust on railings and bugs in the overhead lights. I would not expect those kids of issues in what has been classified as a quality restaurant. Service was good, food was fine, just cleanliness lacked.

The shuttle driver, Andy, went above and beyond to make sure we arrived at the Ravinia and picked us up after the show. He was very friendly and outgoing. He is a huge asset to the Hilton. It was a wonderful stay!

upon arrival my room was not ready, i was immediatly upgraded without question. the desk was great, the whole hotel was wonderful and comfortable. it is perfect if you are attending navy graduation. there are no good hotels in great lakes however, this one is a straight shot up 294, it take 20 mins and $2 in tolls to get there, straight shot.

We knew it wasn't close to Chicago proper, but had no idea just how difficult and expensive it would be to try and go into the city. It is a $30 cab ride just to get to the nearest train station, and then a 30 minute sub ride from there. I travel a lot. This hotel was very convenient to where I had business. The hotel lobby and riverfront restaurant were beautiful. This hotel seems to be a business conference hotel so it can be crowded at times. The health club was enjoyable, including the dry sauna and whirlpool. Few guests used it during the evening I did. The main restaurant was […] beautiful, typical of many other Hilton hotels. It was expensive; however, to someone on a business account, it's not. The breakfast buffet had a wide assortment of breakfast foods. The bar was opened after the main restaurant closed at 2 pm for business and surprisingly the food (which came from the same kitchen) was relatively inexpensive. The hotel rooms were beautiful and comfortable. However, the air conditioning units inside the hotel rooms do make some noise. My only issues were (1) the noise from the air conditioning or heating systems right outside my window (I was on the second floor) and (2) the security lights around them which lit up my room at night. The front desk was very accommodating the next day when I requested a different room because of these two issues. They put me into another room on the fourth floor. I love this hotel because of its location and the hotel staff's service. Moreover, their gym with the swimming pool and sauna is really nice. Room service does not have a lot of vegetarian options but it is nice. The customer service is always very helpful at the front desk at check-in and check-out. This is one of the best Hiltons!
