Everyone on staff that I came in contract with was courteous, kind, pleasant and helpful. The facility was immaculate and should be upgraded to a 4 star. We didn't partake in any of the restaurants for we were only in town overnight visiting relatives. I have never written a review on a site for a hotel, but I feel like I must this time. I am on the road many many months of the year, as a tour manager. We had planned on being at this hotel anyway - it was close to where we were going to be performing. However, along came Hurricane Sandy. It was absolutely chaos. We arrived on Sunday, less than 24 […] hours before Sandy did. The hotel seemed to become a landing zone for tons of families who had been evacuated from the Jersey Shore. They came in from the rain, literally, bringing their few belongings, and their pets, and EVERY staff person, from Amethyst at the front desk to every single housekeeping staff person, was kind, calm and when above and beyond what they needed to do. They set up a command center in the lobby, setting up a microwave for folks, etc...and were so helpful and kind. Things got pretty awful there, the storm was horrific - and the power poles looked like they were going to come crashing down all around. But through it all, the staff was amazing. I want to commend everyone there for keeping it together through such a tough tough time. I will never forget my week there. Thank you so much. Read more

we got a dog friendly room... we stayed just for one night (about 18 hours total), and when we left (on the way home in the car!) we noticed fleas crawling all over our dog. makes me wonder often they clean these carpets / rooms.

Went for a tennis tournament and spent two nights in a 2 bedroom room. The pillows were a tiny bit uncomfortable but the room was clean and nice.

The hotel itself was OK, it was clean and the bed was comfortable however, what we had to deal with was unacceptable, the ac squeaked like mad, and though they offered to have maintenance come up to my room at 3am to try and fix it, I really didn't want to have some strange guy in my room for who knows how long and they were completely booked so I couldn't […] switch rooms. Then someone on our floor had a dog, that barked from 630 or 7 am till we finally just left which was around 10am, the person with the dog was not even at the hotel which made it worse, there was no way to shut the animal up. We had last minute plans for visiting philadelphia tourist spots and all city hotels were maxed out. So we chose this hotel and we were happy with the experience. Carpets and the room in general was very clean . Bedding items in general were of good quality and quite comfortable. Room Service from the restaurant "Read Hot and Blue" was very good. Next morning had a good breakfast and people serving were very pleasant and the lady there also recommended the right combinations for all of us in the family. The hotel was very comfortable. The a/c was quiet and efficient. One of the beds did creak a little and wasn't as comfortable as the other. There were ample tv channels. The bathroom was quite small, but had what we needed. The toilets were VERY loud. Overall, I was extremely pleased with the two night stay.

Check-in was quick and friendly, very close to shops. Very close to PATCO station for easy access to Center City Philadelphia. BBQ restaurant next door made for convenient dining. Will stay there again.

Daily housekeeping in our room was okay, but the trash receptacle at the hotel entry nearest our room (east side) was disgusting--overflowing with trash for hours, several times, with food wrappers, etc.spilling all around. I didn't check the other receptacles. I should not have been surprised, then, to turn on the bathroom light at 5:30am and find […] an equally surprised cockroach...the big kind, about 1-3/4" long. A fairly large gap/hole in the wall around the water intake line for the toilet was the obvious point of entry. I should note we had no food or food wrappers out in the room. The staff response when informed later that day: "well, did you report it?" That was it. The fitness room was also disappointing. It was sweltering, and two of the seven cardio machines were in need of repair. I chose this hotel for its proximity to an event but would look for a better-maintained property next time, even if it will require more travel. Read more

Other than the bkfst in the restaurant was not good and the fitness room was not what I had expected because it did not have naything other than cardio equipment and I was looking for a hotel with real workout equipment but other than that the staff were very friendly and I have no complaints about the hotel isteslf.

Room was very clean and comfortable beds with very helpful friendly staff. Only problem was 10 Rowdy kids in pool to one "adult" impossible to use indoor pool during downtime after sightseeing in Philly.

The Hotel is a nice property, clean and very friendly staff. Only comment I have is why they called it Holiday Inn Philadelphia when it is really located in Cherry Hill (New Jersey), Different city and different State and to be very frank: It is not that close to Phila City Center. However I will stiil recomend it.

My stay was pleasant . The staff is wonderful . The hotel needs a few more ammenties such as iPod dock / alarm clock. The taxi services that the hotel uses needs improvement! One day I spent 24.00 to get to Philly. Another service charged 60.00. They should not be allowed to overcharge customers.

We chose this hotel because it's close to my uncle's house. Neagtives- when we checked in, we signed a paper saying we would be charged $0.75/day if we accept the daily paper, so I told the front desk clerk that we didn't want them, so he told me he'd make sure we did'n't get them. However, it came every day, so we brought them all back to the frnt […] desk. A manager said we wouldn't be chargd and she didn't know why the paper I signed said that. The hotel is non-smoking, but our room was clearly smoked in- from the smell and the cigarette burn in the carpet. I was excited about the gym, but found that the 2 treadmills in it were broken- 1 totally inoperable, the other stutters so it's easy to trip. Housekeeping knocked on our door at 8 am, which disturbed us because we wanted to sleep in. We never woke up that early from housekeeping before. Upon check-out, we mentioned all of our complaints to the manager, who apologized profusely and sent maintenance to he gym immediately (yet I could hear him mutter about the treadmills not being broken, but they were.) she offered us a complimentary breakfast, but we had to go. Sh also seemed genuinely concerned about making up for everything we talked about. Positives- when we 1st went to our room, the remote wasn't working. We called the front desk, who quickly sent over a new, working one. We also asked for directions and help from the front desk clerks, who were always happy and eager to help. Summary- front desk staff is great, maintenance of he facilities leaves much to be desired. Read more
