I stayed at the hotel becuase it was close to the Hollywood Casino and Hershey Park, where we saw a concert. The staff was not pleasant checking in, but the hotel room was nice. HOWEVER, they put my female friend and I literally next door to construction. We awoke at literally 7AM to workers drilling a new headboard into the wall about 4 feet from our […] heads. That, combined wtih them dragging things on the concrete, and dropping tools really did not make for a good morning. I was furious and walked in my PJs to the front desk. I asked the guy how many rooms they had and how many were filled. They were at 50% capacity and still put us next to the construction. This hotel needs major work. The toilet seat was either extremely worn or it was delaminating. The shower curtain had mold all along the bottom. Bottom line, you would get a cleaner room and a better deal staying at Motel 6. I have no idea how Hotel.com rates this hotel at 3 stars, someone should reevaluate that rating.

The hotel staff was amazing to include the day manager Kristen who went above and beyond in helping us with planning our day at Hershey Park. The breakfast staff was very nice especially the waitress Kate. They even remembered us the next morning and asked how things were. It was like we have been there for weeks. Overall the staff was discourteous and disorganized. When we checked in they had no rooms left so we were saddled with two twin beds as opposed to the king size bed we had reserved. The carpet looked as though it hadn't been cleaned in over a decade. We picked the hotel because it had very large number of ok ratings but clearly the # of ratings is because this hotel is SO LARGE and old. (part of the problem for its limited staff) In the end our experience was acceptable /we stayed two nights -the first night we had such an awful room, with a transom window (on the roof level - window not able to […] be shut fully)& a leaking toilet in bathroom. The room was clearly old & the attention of the housekeeping was minimal with sheets & Dust ruffle very disheveled on the bed, & dust on the lamp. We checked in late ( I did call ahead to alert them to this - but obviously we got one of the only remaining rooms) The said they could not move us -- and would send someone to mop up the floor. No one came) In the morning we asked to be moved but we were heading out for the day & wanted to make sure if we came back late they would honor a better room. The am girl said yes but when I checked in that evening they tried to give us what I can only guess would have been another not updated room on the upper floors. In the end they gave us a room on the 1st floor & that room did make the stay bearable! It was clean & acceptable. Basically the hotel is in need of updating at least in part & the pool area is acceptable but also in need of some TLC. I also felt the PM weekend staff were very young & inexperienced when it came to customer service! I would try another hotel next time. When we arrived (at midnight), there were people standing out in front of the lobby doors smoking and the parking lot was packed. Inside the lobby, there were different groups of people, intoxicated, swearing, and running in and out of the Hotel bar located off the lobby. My 7 and 3 year old's got an education at check in. There was a door leading out to a balcony but this was jammed shut. The room had an off smell like it had recently been smoked in. On day 2 when I returned to my room, all of the garbage resulting from drinking a morning cup of coffee was still next to the coffee pot, the used filter was still in the coffee pot, and the condiments (creamer, sugar) were still not replaced. The place needs a facelift. Looked like they have hosted some raucus events and the place seemed a little beat up, and dated. The Kitchen closed at 10pm when we were there, which meant we had to go out to grab a meal. It's OK, but there are cleaner, more updated places nearby for the same price or less.

Don't be fooled by the Lobby of this Hotel. The hallways smell of Smoke and our room was dirty and musty. The comforters where covered in crumbs and when we pulled down the bedding there was hair on sheets.

Horrible customer service from the moment we checked in. First, I inquired @ their Summer Kids Eat Free promo & asked if we needed anything for that & the receptionist looked at me and said "you have to be under 12 for that". Confused b/c I had 2 children, ages 5 and 3, w/me I asked again if we needed to do anything or if the restaurant just took care […] of it. She said we didn't need anything & when we got to the restaurant, they said we needed coupons. When we got to our room, we had no towels. We called the desk @ 4:30 when we got to the room & they said they would send some up. We never got them so @ dinner we went to the front desk & asked again. 2 more phone calls and 3 hours later, we finally got towels. In the middle of the night, I was fixing the sheets & when I went to re-do them, I found a dirty tissue in between the sheets &the blanket. We hadn't used a tissue so I knew it wasn't ours! That is unacceptable. Finally, the hair dryer wasn't working so I called down to the front desk & asked if they had an extra & the receptionist said she would call hskping & see if she had one. I asked her if she could get back to me either way & she said she would. I waited 20 minutes & never heard & I was so furious with the whole experience that we just left. This was one of the worst all around experiences I ever had at a hotel. Our room had a rotting window sill that you could actually see the outside through! Our a/c unit was so old and could not cool the room. There was a mess of wires under the desk plugged into a box on the wall that fell out and had to be plugged back in a few times. Well I arrived there on Monday July 16th and as soon as I checked in there was a problem. When I booked thru Expedia I stated how I wanted a hotel with a shuttle bus, well when I checked in on July16th the young man stated there was no shuttle bus and I was not happy so I asked him to upgrade my room. Tuesday at 5 am and midnight and Wed am the speakers in the pool room went on and so I didn't get a good night sleep for the time I was there with my 2 kids. The pool area is so unclean. Tiles have black stains and the pool well my daughter who has a visual impairment was seeing growth all around the edge of the pool on the tile which my youngest daughter also saw and they felt a slimy film when they touched the bottom of the pool. The carpet has holes in it and they used black tape on the doors. Carpets in room was all stained and the first day we had to call the desk at 3pm to get someone to clean our room. At 1am the air conditioner died so we had to move to another floor. I think we deserve a refund of some kind.They never vaccumed our room at all. We are very displeased.
