The restaurant's breakfast/kitchen service was SLOW. The food was not good: The eggs were Overcooked, and browned. The waitresses service was supurb and pleasant. But the food was less than inadequate.

I had a room that faced the hallway (rather than the courtyard/pool area. On one hand, this helped; my room didn't have the humidity and chlorine smell that permeated the lobby. However, the fact that the wall facing the hallway was made entirely of glass wasn't the greatest in terms of privacy and soundproofing.

The overall stay was average. The dining service was subpar...food was overcooked. I paid extra for my reservation to have breakfast included but was not rewarded it at first until I complained to the front desk.

4 ladies set off for Pennsylvania for Feb 2 not knowing what to expect! Reservations at the Holiday Inn Indiana were effortless, an e-mail to hotel staff about a special need we had was quickly responded to. Management is wonderful, staff is charming and competent, hotel shows age architecturally (some steps are involved moving from lobby to rooms), […] but is modern day clean and equipped! About 30 miles from the ground hog, easily driveable- but only minutes from Indiana with a cute well equipped commercial/dining district. Food at HI was terrif, lounge was restful, and service was second to none. When we go back into the area- we will stay here again because the staff impressed us that much! Any activity outside of the hotel would involve needing transportation, the area is a tad industrial. Great pool, nice courtyard....and again- fantastic staff! Read more

It was alright, there were about 20 screaming kids in the courtyard pool area that no one wanted to deal with, they were loud, rude and distructive. Ruined the use of the pool for many customers.

I was not satisfied with the booking of the hotel. During on line booking I was shown a picture of a room with 2 beds, which is what I wanted and thought I was getting. Upon arrival I found out I had a 1 king bed for 3 people. The hotel folks blamed it on the booking website. The shift manager was no help. My daughter and I went to Indiana for a college open house weekend. I was kind of shocked that my room had a terrific view of...the hallway...most unusual, and kind of creepy. The bed was a bit on the lumpy side, but the room was clean, if not small...especially the bathroom. One other thing that bothered me was there was no elevator in the hotel. I […] have RA and had to lug my luggage up a set of concrete outdoor stairs. When I ordered pizza that evening for dinner, I had to walk to the lobby, which was downstairs and across the whole hotel to get my order because the delivery person was not allowed to enter past the lobby...I was in pain!! The hotel pool was pretty, but we did not use it because it was in the center atrium of the hotel where 2 formal events were taking place at the same time. So trapsing down to the pool with my swimsuit on, just elbows away from people in dress clothes was not a comfortable proposition. So next trip we will stay at the Hampton Inn to see if it is better. We were on a visit to IUP so didn't arrive until the evening. After loading up the lugguage cart, we were told we needed to go up 6 steps to our room. The room was clean but the bathroom is very small (toilet is very low...not comfort height). The location was convenient , close to IUP which was what we were looking for. That was the best part of our stay. Our room was small but very clean. Unfortunately, the mattresses were very soft and uncomfortable. As soon as my husband got into bed we both rolled into the middle. He ended up sleeping on the floor. We hadn't stayed in a Holiday Inn for a while because they are usually the higher end of what we want to spend. So, I was expecting higher quality in our room. I was disappionted in the decor and the cleanliness of the bathroom. We had several families staying there and we were able to gather in the patio area by the pool and that was nice.

Close to Indiana Univ PA. Excellent customer service from front desk, housekeeping and restaurant staff. Room was a smoking room and still smelled of smoke, but housekeeping came up right away to spray freshner. The beds were comfortable.
