The taxi (Limousine) service they contract with is a rip off. They charged us $15.00 for a 1.7 mile ride. The other ride was at the same price for a ride that was about 2 miles. This is ridiculous. Call your own taxi and ask for pricing. Food was just OK for breakfast

This was probably the worst Holiday Inn I've ever stayed in. I called for a wake-up call and the phone was never answered (I let it ring for over 10 minures). I then tried to call the General Manager who never answered; therefore, I left him a voice mail message expressing my dissatisfaction. When I checked-in the front desk person did not know how […] to input my Priority Club points and her colleague promised to do it; however, it still was not input when I checked later in the day. The waitress serving drinks in the bar was surly. The breakfast service the next morning was slow, understaffed (they told us they were hosting another event at the time) and the breakfast skillet was comprised of 80% potatoes and very little bacon, onions, sausage overlaid with an egg. The irony is the Holiday Inn Express down the street was more expensive; however, we thought Holiday Inn Express was supposed to be the lower budget version of the same chain. We stayed at this hotel for a family members vacation. The room was spacious and clean. The staff was very friendly. Not somewhere I'd go for a romantic stay but it was a great place to sleep at night and be gone all day.

The first time we stayed at this hotel in 2011 we were very pleased - it was nice and clean. This was the reason we booked this hotel again in 2012 for our recent short trip. It was overall disappointing: 1. the bathroom had a terrible smell - we think it was caused by the shower curtain. 2. the window was blind. 3. the air condition was awfully loud […] (single unit placed under the window) and only worked properly when set to lower temperatures. 4. one of the two room keys didn't work the first time. We fortunately met the maintenance guy in the elevator on the way to the front desk and he helped immediately. We mentioned the issues to the staff and they wanted to address them. Lovely hotel, except my room had an overwhelming musty smell. Still not sure if it was the air conditioner, but it made my clothes and other belongings smell too.

The hotel staff was very polite and most issues that we had were taken care of, the only issues that I could mention would be that the rooms are all about the same and are very small we felt very cramped the entire time, the shower also was dissapointing sprayed incorrectly and wasn't strong or hot, minor issue was several channels that the chart listed […] we would have on tv we did not have, we didn't eat at the hotel but we did get 2 mixed drinks in which the bar tender actually had to look to a book to make... was disturbed by this and the drinks where awful and cost 20.00 dollars, but he did notice that we were unhappy about the drinks and he made us a drink that he created which did taste good and he was polite, we did ask for 3 pillows since the pull out sofa had no pillows but 2 hours later we only received 2. All in all since the staff was polite and it was mostly clean I would recommend the hotel as long as your not looking for anything more than a place to stay for a day or two if you nice accommodations and a large room with added amenities then you probably want to look elsewhere. Lastly the area in front and a good distance from the hotel is full of construction, they actually have a sign up that says welcome to construction land which was very frustrating. Read more

Was awakened at 6am by construction noise. NOT A LIGHT SLEEPER. Desk clerk said we should not hear it because it was on the other side of the building. If we had known about the construction, we would have stayed elsewhere.

Our room smelled very musty. They did move us to a new room the next day. The hallway smelled also. We had trouble with the added free breakfast, but they took care of it eventually. Other than that, it was nice and convenient to Charleston, Sullivan's Island and Isle of Palms without the high cost.

Shower had mildew smell, no hot water. Hallway had cigarette smoke smell, and room had a damp floor. Seems like place had been recently renovated, albeit poorly. Door handles were upside down.

We were very disappointed with this hotel. We had requested a King bed and received two double beds. The 4 th floor had a really bad smell. We never received new soap or shampoo and conditioner on any of the three days until we finally asked for soap on the last day. One day we did not receive any new towels or washcloths. I travel alot to Charleston for business, and I love staying in Mt. Pleasant. I will not stay in this Holiday Inn again! Basically, you are really overpaying for the quality received. My room and the hallway my room was on smelled of smoke even though I had a "non" smoking room. I also had a wall ac unit that caused the room to be wet from the outside […] humidity and surrounding marsh and water...My carpet was damp..sheets..you get the idea. Great people, but the house cleaning was sub-par, I had to ask them to clean the toillet and am not sure they ever cleaned the tub or mopped the floor. I know they did not vaccum. Bathroom smelled like mildew also. Everyone else was a pleasure.

Loved the hotel and the surrounding area. The only drawback was the horrible construction going on in the area. There were many traffic backups. We will be glad when the construction is done as we plan on going back to that area in the near future.

Upon arrival, the room smelled musty. The bathroom was stocked with miniature shampoo and hand lotion, but no conditioner. The housekeeping staff left an empty toilet paper roll in place, did not pick up some papers on the bathroom floor., did not adequately restock washcloths and towels.
