"Fine, but under a lot of construction"
The hotel is fine, but under significant construction. While the noise wasn't a problem (work didn't start until 8am), many facilities were under repair and either unavailable or temporarily moved. For example the fitness center is now three pieces of equipment in an empty hotel room - one each of a treadmill, elliptical machine and stationary bike. […] The main restaurant is closed, so only the sports bar remains, which is now also where breakfast and lunch are served. Finally, be sure you request a room on the outside of the hotel, not the inside. We were stuck with an interior room facing the under-construction atrium, which meant we were unable to open our curtains the entire time we were there, or construction crews would have been staring right into our room. I'm sure this hotel will be very nice once the renovation and other changes are complete, but there are plenty of other options in the area for the same price right now. "Beware - Hotel Under Construction"
The hotel was under construction. Loud noise in morning woke when they started at 0830 us up on our couples get-away!! "Holiday Inn - False Advertising - NO POOL"
We booked this hotel for November 7 and 8, 2014 for a romantic couples weekend get away. The pictures of the hot tub and swimming pool got our attention. When we arrived there was HEAVY demolition in progress. The noise was terrible from the heavy machinary busting concrete. The hotel staff said the noise would be from 8am until 5pm but the noise went […] past the 5pm cut off time. There was no hot tub or pool. We asked for a refund and the hotel staff said they could not give us one and we had to contact HOTELS.COM. We are very disappointed in Holiday Inn. Also, there is only ONE restaurant at this hotel, not two like advertised. The next night we did get a hotel somewhere else in Austin but it was much more expense than this hotel. The hotel was under a major renovation. However, the staff was extremely nice and provided great service. The room was very clean and nice. We can't wait to see what the completed remodel brings to this hotel and great location. "Friendly staff but hotel was outdated."

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel, more so than my previous night's stay at the 3 star Holiday Inn. The staff was friendly but very unprofessional. Guests wishing to check in were repeatedly told to wait (15 mins total) while the front desk (manager?) yelled at an employee for not following procedures. Guests should NEVER be asked to wait for hotel staff […] to go over internal training issues. NO employee deserves to be yelled at in such a manner, no matter what she did or didn't do. Training issues should be discussed one on one, in a calm, civil, respectful and professional manner. The way that the supervisor handled this was unprofessional, disrespectful, rude, crude, and completely unacceptable. The housekeeping staff seems to be doing well as my room was clean and comfortable. However, the overflowing trash cans at the base of each outside stairwell definitely detracted from the quality if the hotel and made the overall experience much less enjoyable. If this hotel manages to address the two issues mentioned above, they'd be just as good as most 2 star hotels. Note to ExtendedStay Mgmt: Alf is doing a good job. My wife and I stayed one night here as we were in town for a doctor appointment. THe hotel was easy to find but had to "dash" into driveway quickly so as to not get rear ended. Hotel was under major renovation so jackhammer sounds started at 8am.
