Ramada Plaza Omaha Hotel and Convention Center - Omaha

Great Staff, wonderful spacious facilities, plenty of space to move around indoors, great restaurant and bar........ But that all came to an end at 1:30AM one of their contractors fired up a GAS POWERED pressure washer in the parking lot right outside my window. It took 2 phone calls and about an hour and a half before the hotel staff got him shut down. […] But then he was obviously upset because he spent the next 2 hours banging tools around and slamming the doors on his work Van. Then to top it all off, he started the engine and revved the engine for several minutes before he took off. How many levels of failure does something like this take. Who was the Hotel Manager who said "sure, you can run loud gas powered pressure washers in the middle of the night".... then who was the manager who let the contractor on the property, unlocked the doors for him and let him work at that time. Finally, why did it take hours.... hours to get him shut down, that should have taken minutes!!!! My final disappointment was that when I calmly discussed the issue with the front desk, they offered no compensation for my night of no sleep, not a dollar off my room, not a meal voucher, nothing. Could I have demanded it.... sure, but I was so upset about the whole event I did not want to loose my temper, they chose poorly, again and again and again...... Shame on the management..... If you are coming and staying as part of a trip to Coco Key waterpark, the hotel is adequate, but I wouldn't stay here otherwise. Room had a dirty towel and big hair in the tub, front desk staff seemed uninterested, the layout of the hotel is strange and if you get a room on the plaza you may hear noise outside your room until the plaza bar closes. […] Only two of the five machines in the exercise room worked. Stayed for business one night. Front desk clerk mentioned she was bored when I checked in and that they had been waiting on me. After check in room was fine, there was hair in the bathtub from the previous guest. The next morning, I planned on working from the room but could not connect to the free Wi-Fi. I was surprised by the "if" since they not only indicate Wi-Fi as an amenity on the website but had a sign in the room. The remodeling was inconvenient but our room was very clean & comfortable . We have 3 small children & it would have cost us almost $94 to swim for one day! That's insane! We weren't told about any package deal when we booked our room but apparently that's what most people do to get a better deal. It's a really nice water park & they did let us tour […] it which was nice. The not so nice part is the regular pool was closed due to the remodel. So we had some upset kids! Had I known this we would never have stayed here. There is a large arcade we had to settle for instead. Parking is also an issue. We found a spot fine but others had to park over a block away because of an event that was held there. Unacceptable! The restaurant is awesome! Great food & service. Definately would wait until the renovation is complete. Not everything we had problems with was due to the renovation though. When we first arrived there was absolutely no parking anywhere close to the hotel entrance and we had to park in the very back of the convention center. Then there weren't any carts to help us bring all of our luggage in since […] we had to park so far away because they said 2 of the carts had broke the day before and the others were all being used. The elevators were extremely slow. Everyone in the hotel opted to just use the stairs instead of the elevators because the elevators were so terribly slow and kept getting stuck. When we were waiting to check out of the hotel we waited for over 10 minutes for an elevator. There was not a single working ice machine in the entire hotel but the nice gentleman at the front desk went and got me ice out of the resort. Our shower had absolutely no pressure. The water would stop completely for about a minute and then come back on. We called down to the front desk and the maintenance man came up and said unfortunately the water pressure for the hotel was just really low. I also was dissapointed there wasn't any breakfast except at the resort restaurant which was expensive. Also, due to the fact that the hotel's swimming pool is not open during renovation I think a discount for the resort would be nice.Hope the hotel improves alot when the renovation is complete but until then we definately won't be staying there again. The pillows in the room were very uncomfortable, also the sofa bed was hard to sleep on. The room was not cleaned the greatest. We were extremely disappointed when we arrived at the hotel and found that it was under a major reconstruction. Probably 2/3 of the rooms/hotel is under construction..INCLUDING the swimming pool. There is NO POOL as of right now. The entire reason we stayed at this hotel again was because we had such a great experience two years ago...zero entry family […] friendly pool area and play area...non existent now. We were not aware of this before we came, so were upset to find this out. They did give us complimentary waterpark passes, which was nice but with two very small children, a quiet, calm pool area was really what we wanted. We arrived very early to beat the crowd and to get the most out of our day. The waterpark staff was beyond rude. They had bad attitudes, used foul language around the children and I simply would not trust them to save my kids' life in the event of a tragic incident. I was completely taken by the lack of respect of these employees. We went for a quick over-night stay for the water park. We were a little surprised there wasn't a discount for the park since we stayed in the hotel. It was not clearly marked where the temporary lobby was since the hotel was under renovation. The front desk staff seamed rushed and unprofessional. We booked the hotel under the impression that it had continental breakfast and a regular pool along with the CoCo Keys water resort. Upon arrival the hotel was under a complete remodel. The continental breakfast was discontinued related to the restaurant being opened but a breakfast buffet was offered for $8.95 a person! The regular pool was closed […] and they only offered the CoCo Keys water resort which was $15 a day. They did give us water park passes every day we stayed but since it was also open to the public was rather busy since it was 109 degrees out. I would rate the hotel higher if it wasn't for the poor upkeep of the place. They're remodeling, but I had the impression remodeling won't help much. The elavators looked like they're about to fall apart, check out is the traditional go to the front desk, and the water park was a big let down. You have to pay extra to get into the park. The main play […] area of the park was broken and could stand for a new coat of paint (they took $10 off the price), many lifeguards weren't paying attention, too busy chatting with each other, and their floatation devices looked like they were retrieved from a dumpsite then duck-taped. In all fairness, the hotel is under total renovation, but, we had no curtains, they put up a tablecloth. There was no towel rack. The frig door fell off. We had no maid service in 3 days. The ice machines didn't work. The towels were new, full of lint and had a new sticker on every towel. Only half a dead bolt. No connection from our room to lobby, […] and it was raining at check out, it was about a 2 block walk ouside to lobby. The phone didn't work, we were not sorry to leave. This was supposed to be a 3-star hotel, which it might be after all the renovation is done, but at the time of our stay, it was very disappointing. When we arrived at the hotel, we found out that it was under major renovation, which I feel we should have been informed of. The construction mess was everywhere, except thankfully inside the room. There was not a towel rack in the bathroom, so the towels were just stacked on the vanity. When you flushed the toilet, it sounded like a jet plane was taking off. We went to have a nice weekend getaway with children and grandchildren. Got to motel, NO SWIMMING POOL like the ad said. Wanted rooms to be passthrough, they had no idea which rooms that was. No chair in rooms, no table in rooms, no CURTAIN in rooms so there for was had no choice but to get up with the sunrise.

This hotel was horrible. The hotel was underconstruction. The king rooms were horribly small. The beds didn't even have nightstands next to them. On one side there was a desk and on the other was a closet. The bathrooms were the only good thing about the room. The windows were huge and didn't have dark shades to go over them, only light shade so light […] still came through. The TV service was horrible. Does not have updated TVs and hardly any channels, not able to rent movies either. The waterpark is an additional $20.00 per day per person on top of paying to stay at the hotel. My boyfriend and I went here for a fun weekend and were looking to hang in the waterpark and relax and drink. The waterpark had a bar but was only open Friday-Sunday so that was not an option for us. The hotel doesn't have any restaurants or bars in it or anything to do at all. The hallways smelled and everything looked really old. Read more

The location was in the hub-bub of Omaha, so very convenient, and right off the interstate. Perkins was located right across the street, so very convenient for dinner/breakfast. The Ramada in my city offers 4 free wristbands into their water park with one night's stay, and the rates are the same. I thought that was very deceiving for a hotel's website to boast a water park but not tell you that it's not included in your stay. So beware. The indoor door to access the waterpark was broken, although they assured us that a manager just had to get a key, It was never repaired, so we had to walk a short distance outdoors to get to the waterpark. We returned from the pool to discover that our key wouldn't unlock the doors to our room. Maintenance man spent 20 min trying to get in while my tired, wet, cold kids and I waited impatiently. Finally got in, only to find peeling wallpaper, food gunked on the wall and hairdryer in bathroom, and mold growing in the shower and all along the floor. Complained […] to front desk. They moved us to a new room (the "tower"....made it sound like it would be so much better when they explained it but it was just a slightly cleaner, still old and run-down room) and gave us free passes to the water park. This hotel was just plain old and dumpy. If you're going here just for the water park, stay at the Baymont instead. It's RIGHT next to the waterpark and is almost guaranteed to be a nicer place.
