"Unusual with Downtown Location"

We stayed here while attending a conference in Duluth. The hotel has some nice amenities such as pools and hot tubs on several of its 16+ floors. On some floors finding your room could mean a long, winding trek, but once you finally got there the room itself wasn't too bad. We had a banquet in the hotel and the food was first-rate. The room included a mini-fridge but no microwave. There was a galleria on the two lower floors of the building with attached parking garage. The hotel is walking distance from many shops and businesses in downtown Duluth and less than a block from Lake Superior.
"Overnight business stay"

Super nice front desk staff. My room was spic and span clean. Fresh. After checkin, drive short distance to Lake Superior lake front near canal for evening drinks and dinner. Perfect. Back to room for a restful sleep! The Creemery Cafe on 1st floor serves Starbucks for the morning locals.
"Excellent location - Stupendous service"

Decided to make Duluth the first stop on our trip. There are many hotels, some on the waterfront but the prices were quite high. Thus, we selected the Holiday Inn. It is right downtown and quite easy to find. The parking is free and plentiful. Finding our room was the only problem we had. The hotel is in two main sections and when you get off the elevator it say room 1 - 20(?) are to the right and 20 - 42 are on the left. So we went to the left and found another area where there should be a sign. But if that's the only problem it's minor. The room itself was very comfortable with a king bed, mini fridge, microwave and flat screen tv. But the service, especially from Jennifer and Kaelyn, was phenomenal. They were both very knowledgeable about local attractions and how to get there. Constantly pleasent they are very good representatives of the Holiday Inn. There is a restaurant which serves breakfast and lunch which we did not try and a sports bar called Sneakers which we did try. Very tasty sports bar food and very good service. There are two pools, one on the third floor and one on the ninth. I have never, until this visit, seen a swimming pool that was entirely made of stainless steel. Really cool. The hotel is within walking distance of the waterfront so there is really no need to shell out the substantially higher cost of staying on the waterfront.
"Nicely renovated downtown hotel"

This hotel is considerably less expensive than those right on the water. You can still have a water view however on the higher floors. The room was clean, although there were a couple of hairs in the tub. Bedding was good. Mattress was a little hard. No microwave but there was a refrigerator. Air conditioning was good. You can reach the Canal Park area via a sky walk which takes about 20 minutes. (The hotel clerk will tell you 10). There were fans in the walkway but they were not turned on and it was sweltering. The hotel was really very nice even though it may not sound that way from this review. If you want to be downtown and not pay a hefty downtown price, stay here.
"review of holiday inn downtown duluth"

The lobby staff were very friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable for someone with a bad back. The breakfasts at Porters were excellent. The parking lot was very confusing- signage is not good and the driving on the left was uncomfortable. The room was a little warm despite the air conditioner. Overall it was a nice place to stay. The proximity to the harbor activities was very nice.
"Awesome last minute trip planning..."

Our trip up was very last minute, and Holiday Inn was the only hotel with rooms left near Canal Park over the 4th. The walk itself was not bad at all. 2 blocks over, 1 block down & you were basically there. We had a F350 & a trailer and they provided an over-side parking area (which was GREAT) The room itself was good. Clean & comfortable beds (I like the choice of firm and soft pillows) very nicely decorated (loved the pic of the bridge in the room) The only thing I did not enjoy was the hair I found in the tub. I did not report to front desk, as at the time I guess I didn't really care and we were very tired. I cannot comment on breakfast or pools as I did not use them. Overall I did enjoy my stay, I would definitely recommend this place or stay here again.
"Perfect Location for Last Minute Decision to Get Close to Fireworks"
07/06/14 SunnySis60 Duluth, Minnesota
Waited too late for some of the more premiere spots for watching the spectacular Fourth of July fireworks display Duluth is noted for during the holiday. Not wanting to fight the traffic afterwards, but wanting to get up close to the harbor, a suite at the Holiday Inn Downtown was a great choice. Got in a swim and a pizza delivered by Sammy's (also a Duluth icon) and walked across the skywalk to the DECC and out to the water. Afterwards, an easy walk with the crowds back to the hotel, outside under the stars. Cozy bed waiting and no traffic to fight. Up when we wanted with breakfast and another swim. Perfect holiday.

The renovation seemed to be good. Only issues I really had was the loud air conditioner and the blinds weren't very dark or opaque. The area seemed a little of putting once you get out of the hotel entrance, but conveniently located.
"Great location, great staff & convenience for our independent Dealers"
06/30/14 Steve L Duluth, Minnesota
The Holiday Inn and Suites in downtown Duluth has been the official hotel for my company's annual dealer training event for seven years. Hundreds of dealers travel from all across North America each year to attend and there have always been rave reviews from them regarding their hotel stay. The rave reviews have been even more pronounced this past May after the facility's new renovations and upgrades. The Holiday Inn and Suites has been a destination for our dealers due to the price, location, helpful staff and convenience due to their skywalk system to the Duluth convention center. As a result of the continued great experience at the Duluth Holiday Inn & Suites, I always make it a point to stay in Holiday Inn properties when I travel to other destinations.

As a corporate customer, we send many of our out of town guests to the Holiday Inn. We have not heard one complaint from our staff. They do like being close to downtown, the lake, lake walk, dining, etc. The renovations are excellent and the hotel looks great. I highly recommend this hotel for your saty in Duluth
