I spend about 120 nights a year in hotels as I travel for business, this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. if it wasn't so late when I checked in I would have left and looked for a different hotel. The room was dirty, bath room was filthy, when I closed the door the lock did not work, called the fromt desk and they did not have a maintenance person on site. I fixed the lock myself.

Room was spacious, clean and quiet (even if close to a main highway). For a last minute deal, it was excellent. OK, the surrounding is not really uplifting, but it is fine for a couple of nights when you have other things to do that walk around the neighborhood. It is a 7-10 minute drive to Yale (and IKEA!) so, perfect for what we were looking for.

I booked this hotel because of the price and the reviews. The place was not how the otheres have reviewed. The place was ok for the money. I only stayed over night. This room was clean and neat. I really wanted non smoking room but they did not have ( my fault for booking late)however, the room did have a heavy smell of smoke and the chair and curtains had burn marks on it. I think overall the hotel was decent... the free breakfast was ok. They had waffles, cereal, and bagels. The ONE thing that really disappointing was the bathroom... along the corking of the shower was MILDEW...and the wall paper was coming off, which revealed a bit of molding as well. I'm not looking for luxury for the price I paid.. however seeing mold is not acceptable in my case.

We traveled from Maine to Conn. to see our daughter for parents weekend. Not knowing the area we booked with you. The hotel was completed run down. The smell of the room was horrible. The condition of room was worse!!!! The bathroom was old and dirty. The pillows smeeled so badly I did not even sleep that evening. you can understand how the next day I was so unrested it ruined my entire visit with my daughter. The purpose of parents weekend is to joyusly see your kido after sending them off to college. Well our weekend was FAR from enjoyable due to this stay. We stay all over the world and I have never seen a hotel in such poor condition. Obviously this hotel has a reputation locally. When going to breakfast at a local cafe that morning, the local folks told us we made a wrong chose staying there and that this place is known for being less than satisfing lodging. So we will tell everyone not to ever stay there.

While I wasn't expecting total luxury, I was disappointed in the condition of the room. The first room I was given had an overwhelming smell of cigarette/cigar smoke even though it was designated a 'non-smoking' room. The second room was better, but the toilet 'ran' constantly and the bathroom sink faucet barely worked. Also, there was a dirty washcloth left on the sink and the shampoo bottle was previously used and left open.

This was an older motel-style facility with older carpeting, but everything was in working order and relatively clean. The room had a small microwave and an apartment sized refrigerator, which came in handy. The room was fairly large, but the style and decorations were older and there was a slightly musty smell which I adjusted to after a few minutes. They offered a pretty decent Free breakfast with waffles, donuts, and bagels! Overall, it was exactly what I expected for the money.

We were in town attending a wedding, so location was most important. For the money, I thought the room was great. Everything in the room appeared new. The bathroom had Kohler sinks and faucets. The counter top was granite. It had a few problems with broken lights, lack of convenience for ice, and outside doors for rooms (a particular consideration for 2 girls traveling alone), but the hotel staff was very friendly, appeared to care, and the room worked out great for our needs.

We were looking for somewhere to stay as a cheap stop-over on the way to visit Yale University. Although slightly out of New Haven this was a perfectly fine, good value place to stay. We had a very warm welcome on arrival and the owner/manager offered advice on how best to get to Yale and where to park. Our room was big and clean - and cheap. 3 good things on a road trip stop-over!

We read the previous comment of the hotel which include uncomfortable bed, old furniture, unclean rooms. To us it seems as though the hotel management did as well and took action. When we got there we were greeted by very friendly staff. Our room was immaculate, the bed was practically brand new, there was still some plastic wrapping on the box springs, the furniture was all new! The next morning we went to get coffee and one of my favorite things they had was there...the waffle makers where you can make your own waffles for breakfast, all the breakfast equipment was up to date and worked well. Overall my husband and I were very pleased with our stay!

The room was comfortable and the hotel service was very good considering that I only stayed there overnight. Unfortunately, the room smelled like wet clothing had been left in a pile. When I opened the door I was greeted with a stench so I opened the window and turned on the AC to ventilate. Had it been earlier in the evening I would have requested a room change. The continental breakfast made up for the unfortunate smell. I did report the problem to the front desk but it did not look as if a report was going to be processed on it. I hope I am wrong because if it did not smell, it would have been the best stay in a hotel of that category.

Ate dinner at the restaurant literally across the parking lot from the hotel -- worked out really well. Had lots of margaritas & could walk back to the hotel to check in/get to our room. The plow service for the parking lot could have been better (there was a big pile that we had to drive around slightly) -- but it was good enough. Also, our bath mat needed to be re-washed... we just didn't use it. Overall - okay -- but I would have liked a cleaner bathroom.

The hotel was very close to the boardwalk, and the family who ran it were very nice. However the bed was extreemly uncomfortable. I ended up having severe backpain after the first night because of how uncomfortable the bed was. We almost left early because of how uncomfortable the bed was. The shower stall tile and grout were crumbling and looked unclean. The room's rug was also dirty. There was trash under the bed, used tissues and plastic cups. The walls had dark brown streaks on them, which looked like a brown liquid had run down them and dried. The dresser drawers fell out when you opened the dresser.
