Loved our room, had recently been updated and was quite large with a king bed and seating area. Because the front is being remodeled, it was a little hard to find on our first pass. Despite the lobby being under construction, the hotel was nice. The service was very bad. The front desk attendant could not find our reservation. They seemed put out by us for their inability to find the reservation. I went out the door to the car to grab the confirmation number (was gone less than a minute) and they decided to help another guest while I waited for an extended amount of time. Me and my wife stayed here for one night for the Jay-Z and Beyoncè concery.The lobby was packed full with people checking in. It took over an hour standing in line to finally get to the counter. (Didn't stand in lines at Disney World that long) The rooms were nice. No complaints until the next morning and all you hear is loud drilling sound from some […] work being done on the hotel. Then when trying to leave for check out it took forever to catch an elevator to the lobby. Elevators would go to the higher floors and about time they got down to our floor (11) it's full. Tip for if you find yourself in this situation, take the elevator up and then ride it back down. You'll stop at every floor but when you get back to the floor you were on you'll see the same people that were waiting with you and they're still waiting. Finally get to the lobby and you guessed it ...... full again. Didn't take near as long this time thankfully. Location of the hotel is great if you plan on being on Bourbon drinking hand grenade(s). Stayed here on an average NOLA weekend -- no big conventions or festivals in town. Still had to wait in line, standing, more than an hour to check in! Others in line had been back to check in 3 or 4 times, and were told to return because their room wasn't ready. Desk clerks were pleasant, but were very, very slow (don't know if it was the computer or […] them), and they handed out Wyndam fans because it was so hot in the lobby. No explanation was given.
