Could not have had a better place to stay...right in the middle of everything. Room was perfect. Mattresses were dreamy. Walking distance to all I wanted to do or half block from streetcars. Some of the hotel front desk were rude. My room was not ready until 4pm! I may not have minded, but I had just flown for over 15 hours. I was pretty tired and 4pm is pretty late. THREE WOMEN WERE REGISTERED IN THE ROOM AND TOILETRIES WERE NEVER REPLACED. TALKED WITH OTHER GUESTS IN THE HALL THAT HAD SAME EXPERIENCE AS WE HAD. Hotel was no frills, not what I had expected from a Wyndham property, but you have to realize that this is a French Quarter hotel and is old. Currently rooms are being renovated. First room was on floor with lots of work and paint fumes were overwhelming. Staff moved us to another room without any problem. This room was much better. Beds and pillows […] are wonderful. We had to ask for towels each day. Had room cleaned but they didn't leave clean towels - wierd... If you stay on floor 19 or 20, you have to take two different sets of elevators to get to them. "Nice hotel close to all the FUN"
We arrived at the hotel early and was told our room was not ready which we expected. We did check-in and left a cell phone number as they said they would notify us when it was ready. Left the luggage with them and went to enjoy New Orleans. They did contact us before the normal check-in time. When we got out the elevator a guest said I hope you bought […] ear plugs...... The hotel was being renovated and the sound of hammering from power tools was LOUD. Thankfully it stopped around 5pm and did not start early. There were still 2 rooms being worked on on our floor plus all the floor below and this made the carpets dirty. We were not told about using a room key to make the elevators work not the password for the Internet. But to location of the Hotel is terrific, close to everything but far enough away to get a quiet nights sleep. Very comfortable room. Bed and linens were very good.
