"comfortable, nice, parking atrocius"
Hotel location nice and comfortable to visit DC since a Metro station is within walking distance. Parking and unloading however was a problem at this hotel since they have clearance ramps that are too low and I had to dismantel my car roof carrier to get into the lower level garage and then lug my suitcase down some cumbersome stairs.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Location was great fo me. Front desk was not welcoming and a bit rude. Pillows in room were extremely cheap and uncomfortable but otherwise room was clean and very decent. When we questioned the fee for parking front desk got very snooty dismissing us.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location Great price, no window shades?"
Excellent location and price! So close to the metro system! But the rooms had no room darkening shades which made it uncomfortable for my family and I.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, nice room . . but don't prepay."
I stayed at this hotel in January, for the inauguration and other events. We booked 6 days but left after 5 days because the weather was too cold for more sightseeing. I fully expected to pay for the 6th day since I had booked it. But I was only charged for the 5 days I was there. A nice surprise. I had to be in Washington again for a meeting in mid-July […] so I reserved this hotel again. After all it was just 3 blocks from the Metro station and next door to a fast food restaurant and a great Italian restaurant, (a bit pricey but 10% off for hotel guests). We intended to finish the sightseeing we hadn't done in January and booked 5 days. This time the weather was too hot and my wife's arthritis was acting up keeping her from walking much. So we checked out after 4 days. When I checked out I was told I had to pay for the 5th day "because I had prepaid." To be clear I asked the clerk if I would have been charged only for the 4 days we stayed if I had only paid a deposit rather than the full amount when I booked and she said that was true. I can understand this policy and have no problem with it. And when I go to Washington again I will stay at this hotel again . . . but I won't "prepay" the full amount. "The Hotel was lovely, the location was perfect"
There was plenty of great restaurants within walking distance, minutes from the national zoo and 23 minutes from the White House without all the traffic. The place seemed perfect with Gym near it, two cleaners for a rinkled suit. Italian, Ethiopian, Chinese, Turkish food,Three or four Bistros in walking distance. 33 Minutes from Baltimore Maryland Airport. […] I cannot say enough about this place. I will be returning there one day without being on business travel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"OK relative to its location/price combination"
We stayed 2 midweek nights in summer, a family of 5 for standard DC sightseeing. We still squeeze into one standard hotel room, with the youngest kid usually sleeping on a makeshift bedding on the carpet - or on a sofa or a rollaway. This particular hotel room was so small, and the bedding so scant, that it was nearly impossible. A rollaway was not […] possible because of the room size. We asked for a couple of extra blankets and got one. If you plan to sleep 3 kids in your room, do bring a sleeping bag. And a baby/toddler mobile crib will probably not fit in at all. The room cleanliness was mediocre (one chewing gum stuck to the carpet in one spot, but the bathroom was new and in good condition). The hotel is skimpy on all conveniences. There was no mini-fridge/microwave (a feature which has become a standard for family-oriented motels). No breakfast either, so count on spending another $6-10/person for that. They boast a flat-screen TV, but more than half the cable channels didn't work for some reason. We had such a busy schedule, that we didn't bother to contact the front desk on that. Parking was $23.60 including tax, but at least they were generous and allowed us to park both before formal check-in and after formal check-out (until 3 PM). Useful because the Metro stop is 3 minutes walking distance, and it's a quick ride to the National Mall area. In summary, on the merits this is a sub-$100 motel in any city, but given the limited choice it's probably a reasonable deal. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Air conditioned very dirty"

The hotel was nice, the room was kind of small, but comfortable. Very clean, housekeeping started knocking on the door at 9am, waking me up.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A business trip to DC"
This was a short business trip to DC. I had to stay in a hotel at that very location. Thus, it was very convenient for me to stay in that particular hotel. People took real care of me.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great stay at a great price"
Perfect location. Private parking for only 20 dollars. Friendly staff. Very quiet and impeccably clean. The bed was very comfortable. The only ultra-minor complaints would be that the soda vendor loudly stocked the machine at 6:00AM and the slower curtain rod needed attached to the wall more securely because the curtain kept drooping causing a water […] puddle. "The Hotel is Okay"
There is really nothing wrong with the Days Inn Connecticut Avenue, staff is not friendly, rooms are small, WiFi does not always work, the only amenity is coffee in the lobby and a USA TODAY paper. It is close to a Metro Station. But great hotel it is not!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Free parking for all customers!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Wonderful stay! Near Metro!"
Comfortable, clean, quiet! Excellent restaurant next door! Within about 3-4 blocks of the Metro, so easy to get to anyplace in vicinity!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great for holidays and attending conferences"
I liked my selection of Days Inn. It was close to the subway. It was also close to major stores, shops and places to eat. This was one of my best hotel stays.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Nice and tidy room for a reasonable price"
My family and I stayed in two queen bed rooms. The room is nice and tidy. There was no microwave or fridge though.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient place to stay"
The staff is friendly and provides great recommendations regarding tours, restaurants and routes to take as the hotel is barely two blocks from the Van Ness metro station. Special thanks to Luis and Melissa at the reception for their great help. Although the installations are a bit dated, the place is clean and conveniently located for the price.Genuine Expedia guest review
the room was too small as well as the bathroom. The wall are paper tin you can hear everything next room over in the hallways. They charge you $20 a day to park your car in a hotel that your already paying to stay at. Was not told the ice machine was not on my floor until I had walked the entire floor following a sign that clearly stated that the ice […] machine was on the floor. "Never choose this hotel, unless you pay cheapest"
stinky carpet, unprofessional stuff, terrible lift.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel's location is good - many restaurants around, easy access to the Metro. Price very reasonable. Building a bit old, carpets could use cleaning, shower plays a bit - you can feel some the temperature shifts as others are using the water system. But, overall, decent.Genuine Expedia guest review
Front desk associates were not very friendly nor empathetic.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Some rooms are horrible; some nice. Go elsewhere"
Tale of two hotels. The first room we were given was appalling. it looked like the linens hadn't been changed. There were stains on the carpet. and dried sputum on the walls. Horrible. We politely complained and were given a room in the other tower. It was fine. Totally different; the room was larger, cleaner, the linens clean. No issues with that room […] at all. The staff was understanding and accommodating. I felt sorry for others staying there (many seemed European) that were putting up with things. However, we were out of there after one night and will never go back. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great Hotel Staff"
After having flown all night I got to the hotel at 10:30 AM 4.5 hours before I was supposed to be able to check-in. I was exhausted and just wanted to go to sleep, they let me check-in early so I could get some sleep. At every turn they were helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
Fsmily get tNeeded a hotel quick....another hotel cancelled my reservation without reason....booked this one on the phone in 5 minutes...great neighborhood; clean; safe accommodating place for a mom n her kids ....Genuine Hotels.com guest review
There were so cosmetic needs in the room but other than that it was fine. I will stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel is located in a great neighborhood. Lots of restaurants, bars & pubs within walking distance and could feel safe walking at night. The hotel itself was an excellent choice, combining good comfort at a great price. We had a street side room and I worried that traffic noise might be a problem. It wasn't. The traffic dies away to nothing in […] the later hours of the evening, so it was a non-problem. If you're there to go to National Zoo, I would highly recommend this hotel. "Paper thin walls"
Nice location, nice people running it, but stay was ruined by noise through the night from a busload of college age kids touring DC. They were loud, and we could not avoid hearing them and all their comings and goings. We asked them to keep it quiet (at 2:30 AM), and they toned it down, but the hotel is just not constructed to dampen noise.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Functional, no frills"
We were in DC for one night and this location was very convenient for our purpose. The hotel is comfortable and clean and a good choice when all you are looking for is a place to sleep. While it may not have a lot of amenities it has all the basics including reasonable parking. We'll definitely consider staying there on our next tripGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Short walk to Metro"
Excellent value. Solid room, well functioning wifi, close to metro stop and Starbucks. A no hassle way to avoid the high prices in the center of DC.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A decent night"
I spent only 1 night. The young man at the lobby overnight was on spot. Very helpful. It does appear to me though the blinds give the room occupants not enough privacy if the lights are not completely turned off. The room was clean. Great location, good rate.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It would be better if there was breakfast....but everything was very niceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent value for your money in DC"

"not the best deal available..."
Hotel looks like recently renovated. Old building but nicely decorated. Night reception crew needs training on customer service. They dont smile at all. They look as if they dont want to be there to work or help you. In service oriented business, no matter how big or small your hotel, a simple smile goes a long way for your business. When I tried to […] replace my card key because it was not working right, the reception lady to me that it is because I was holding my tablet(kindle fire). Really? I been to different hotels with my tablet and I never had any problems with any card keys. What about just resolving the card key issue and forget about making excuses or false information. The Hotel have a parking space but you have to pay for it ($20). You can take the metro to get to the major DC attractions. Van Ness station is about 3 blocks from the hotel. From Van Ness to union Station it will cost you $3.05 per person each way. Burger KIng is next to the hotel. There are few more other restuarants/ diner around the hotel area within a walkng distance. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Check-in was a very sloppy and unorganized procedure. Desk clerk had difficulty in comprehending that I had already paid Expedia for the room and was preparing to charge me again. First room offered was totally unacceptable (too small for 3 people to stand up at the same time, and the only window actually looked into the parking garage that is attached […] to the hotel). We were assigned to a different room on the same floor (2nd) with a window over-looking Connecticut Avenue, but the bathroom was barely large enough to close the door after entering. No fridge;no microwave and no continental breakfast. Cost:$225 for the night of Tuesday, April 30th...plus $20 to park the car in their garage overnight PLUS TAXES! Never again. I would suggest that anyone look a bit further than this Days Inn for suitable accommodation while in Washington,DC. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"convenient to Metro, red line"
Hotel is a littel old and noise from hallways can be heard in rooms, however, the facility was clean, the staff was very helpful and the location was very good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The room was not cleaned"
The room was not cleaned. Bed sheets were old and stained with hair attachments on pillow covers. I expected much more from a room for $250. The quality was comparable to $60 hotels I used to stay when I was a student.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I don't very often write reviews like this, but I've been using them a lot lately and I thought I should share my experience. This hotel wasn't filthy, there were not bugs or any horror stories but it was still a let down. Our room had someone's initials carved in the drywall. I had to repair the shower faucet handle myself. The wireless router was […] sitting on the floor of our room. It just wasn't nice. The bed was fine, the staff was helpful but the stay just wasn't good. If all you need is a place to sleep than this might be worth it. If you want to enjoy the hotel experience I'd recommend you look elsewhere. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Abysmal Front Desk Service"
Front desk coordination is abysmal. We were initially assigned to a room that wasn't made up. Then we were told they'd send someone up right away with a key for a second room. They didn't come. Finally one of the women employed to make up the rooms took pity on us and gave us a room saying that she'd get us keys and make things right. When she came […] back with the keys from the front desk, she wisely thought to test them. One didn't work. Then someone came with an assignment and keys for another room. We declined. Later that night, we thought someone was attempting to break into the room. Turned out that the front desk had assigned them to our room (for which we'd been give a second key that worked.) Next day our keys didn't work. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"not all that is says to be"
It said on the website "a view of the city". I looked out my window and saw a brick wall. They also don't tell you about the $25.00 parking fee and the fact that if you are driving anything larger than a small car you will have a very hard time in their garage. rooms are small, which since it was only me wasnt a big deal, but it did take a while for […] the hot water to kick in when I took a shower.Lady at the counter was nice. "STAY IF YOU LIKE NOISE"
WITH PAPER THIN WALLS AND DOORS THAT DON'T BLOCK HALLWAY NOISE, THIS WAS THE NOISIEST HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED IN. THE HEATER IN THE ROOM BLEW OUT SO MUCH DUST I HAD TO TURN IT OFF. THE INSTANT COFFEE IN THE ROOM TASTED BETTER THAN THE BURNT COFFEE IN THE LOBBY. A MUST AVOID.....Genuine Hotels.com guest review
