Internet didn't work for half the weekend. TV didn't have cable service for the whole stay. Bedside lamp worked intermittently. Lamp shade filthy. Bathroom door warped, shower head not secured properly. Most of the outlets needed for chargers were so loose, your charger would stay put. "Nice hotel but the mattress is not that comfy"
The location is awesome. Close to the subway. And the staff is awesome. Very nice and very patient. However the mattress is not that comfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Days Inn Washington DC/Connecticut Avenue Thank you for staying with us and sharing your feedback on our hotel. I’m very pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay, and that our location was convenient for your needs, especially the metro access. Also, it is so encouraging to know that our staff was patient and kind to you during your stay with us. We make every effort to exceed our guests’ expectations with our service, so knowing that you consider our staff “awesome” is music to my ears! I am sorry to hear that you found your mattress uncomfortable. I can assure you that this issue has been addressed with our housekeeping department that we may find some way of rectifying that for all of our guests and hopefully any future stays you may have with us.
The hotel is a bit surprising. The hallway looks old and a bit shabby but when you get in the room the room is really nice. The walls are a bit pock marked but painted and clean. For the price it is really nice. The location is excellent for reasonable restaurants. The metro fare from national to the hotel is around $4.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Met my needs."
I enjoyed my five day stay. The staff was both busy and friendly. The room was generally clean, comfortable and in decent shape. The location was very convenient to the metro and several stores and restaurants. I had no concerns walking the neighborhood around the hotel. My only complaint was the coffee maker in the room was broken and there was a lot […] of dust in the water reservoir. The staff replace it once I informed them of the problem. One day we had very heavy rain and the next morning I found a large roach in my bathroom… Obviously succumbing to the pest treatment. I left without having time to mention the matter to the staff. Housekeeping had taken care of the matter by the time I returned that afternoon. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I was attending a conference at a nearby hotel and found this hotel a much better value. I saved myself than one hundred dollars per day off the group room rate and parking costs at the conference facility. This hotel did not have all the amenities of a large, new conference hotel. But, I seldom use most of those extras. This hotel was clean, comfortable […] and basic. Self parking was available for an additional fee that was very competitively priced for a city hotel. The hotel was about a 2 minute walk to the metro station and my conference was 2 stops away. Near this hotel was a full grocery store, pharmacy and a few restaurants. It was 3 or 4 stops from Dupont Circle. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
All in all, very good. Check in was painfully slow, but the problem was with Hotels.com as there was an issue with the expiration dates used on the credit cards FROM Hotels.com which slowed down our process. We were a party of seven and it was late. However, I called Hotels.com right then and they took care of it right away. I appreciated that.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Way too expansive"
The traffic is convenience with the nearby underground train. There are also nearby laundry and fitness center. This might be the reason why there are none of above provided by the hotel. Without the aforementioned facilities, the price is too high.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Days Inn Washington DC/Connecticut Avenue Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. We are pleased to hear that you found our location to be convenient for your needs, and that you were able to access the metro and nearby restaurants without issue. We have also taken into consideration your comment about the high cost of the hotel. We do everything we can to price ourselves reasonably to accommodate our guests needs during their time in the DC area, unfortunately DC can be an expensive city. While we understand your concerns, we hope that we have the opportunity of seeing you again, and we will do everything we can to lessen the sting on your wallet.

"Hotel room space for two people only!"
The room was narrow, not enough space on the floor for us to move freely without bumping into each other. And its either us or our bags on the floor. The electric blog beside my bed didn't work. There was no refrigerator or microwave. The walls looked ugly totally; they looked old and over painted. The hand soap was dry and bad for the hands so I didn't […] use it of course. No breakfast as they told my husband they have one! The hotel's parking lot & the street it self outside the hotel were both narrow- like they have shorten of space. I asked for a bag to put in the trash can -we don't like to throw things in the trash can directly we prefer to put a trash bag first- they gave me a very tall one or the ice bag. I didn't see or read they have laundry room for residences. The only good thing there was the male reception was polite and had some knowledge- the female one was rude. So there was nothing good about the hotel or about our visit -in over all- to this city/ state anyway. Even the restaurants there were terrible; high prices, low quality of food and low attitude. Response by Days Inn Washington DC/Connecticut Avenue Thank you for staying with us and sharing your comments on the hotel. While we are saddened to hear that you did not enjoy your stay, we value your comments and take them very seriously. I apologize that you felt your room was lacking in space and that you did not have a refrigerator or microwave, although we do offer these items upon request for our guests’ convenience. You make a great point about the city streets in DC. They can be quite narrow. Unfortunately that is one of the pitfalls of city life – space can be limited. Our parking garage is intended to help prevent potential damages from parking on a busy city street. I am very happy to hear that you found the gentleman at the Front Desk to be friendly and hospitable during your stay. I hope that your next visit to the city is better meets your standards and I would be pleased if we were included in those travels.
It was a basic no frills room. The bathroom smelled a bit musty/funky when we got there but it was 9pm and I didn't complain. Next day, when we got back from sightseeing, our room was clean and no more odor in the bathroom. Daily housekeeping was fantastic - my 2 young children can be quite messy. Housekeepers arranged their stuffed animals and they […] thought that was great. Luis at the front desk was pleasant and always smiled even while busy. The building was secure, room key needed to operate the elevator - loved that! Short walk to the Metro. Plenty of restaurants near by. Would have given a higher rating for a fridge in the room and fitness area in the building. The room had been updated somewhat recently but still not finished. (Bathroom door was badly patched from entrance door knob hitting it repeatedly. Bathtub was stained. Electrical outlets were loose and unreliable to charge electronics) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Staff was friendly. Easy parking. Room was small. Mattresses needed to be updated..not comfortable at all. Items in room were cracked…trash can had cracks and a piece missing, lap desk had chunks missing…it just made the room seem cheap..so easy to replace these items. "nice local hotel"
For the price, hotel is okay. Definitely not a 4 or 5 star but a solid 2.7 to 3. Two blocks from Metro which makes it nice, good pizza across the street which makes it a nice neighborhood location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Days Inn Washington DC/Connecticut Avenue Ken, Thank you for taking the time to review our property. While DC can be an expensive city to visit, we do our very best to offer our guests an affordable rate, while also offering comfort and convenience. "Nice hotel close to UDC"
My husband and I were there on business for the university. We had a king size bed, which was nice. The pillows were small. The bathroom door did not lock. The shades would never close the complete way on either side, so there was always a gap for light/peakers. Our room faced the inside court of the hotel, basically just a view of a lot of other windows […] looking at yours. I'm a big coffee drinker in the morning. When I finally found the coffee pot/tray stashed inside the closet cubicle I had to find an outlet and was irritated to see only one packet of regular coffee for one cup... The front concierge was extremely pleasant and recommended an Italian restaurant next door. We ate there and it was amazing. It was nice that we could park free at the hotel, eat right next door, then go get ready for bed. If I had to do business again at the university I would stay, but that would be it. Response by Days Inn Washington DC/Connecticut Avenue We are thankful for your comments and suggestions. Learning from our guests is the only way to continue improving ourselves to best accommodate your needs. We have addressed each of these issues with our staff so that they may be corrected accordingly. On top of the coffee makers we have in the guestrooms, we do offer coffee in our lobby 24 hours a day. We are certainly pleased to hear that you enjoyed your meal at Tesoro’s and that you otherwise found the property to be convenient for your needs. We look forward to seeing you in the future if you find yourself doing business with the University again.

I would definitely stay at this hotel again. I enjoyed my stay. Parking shouldn't cost $23 a night though. I just parked on the side street for free and moved my car by 9:30 am, and it was fine.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Never to stay here again"
I had the misfortune of having to stay at this hotel multiple times due to work - no hotels near work location. It is a subpar 2-star hotel in that it offers no amenity (gym, breakfast - none), has very dated fixture (time to change the toilet seats!), fluttering TV signals (no Olympics coverage during the entire Winter Olympics), and dingy hotel overall. […] Rooms have a faint smell; hotel is willing to offer absolutely no service or amenity (wanted to charge $15 for a one-time microwave usage). It is just a terrible place to stay for business. For personal trips, it is one of the cheapest in NW DC in off seasons. But in high seasons, this hotel's rate is not much cheaper for much much worse service. I vowed not to stay here ever again. "Excellent price...close to the Metro"
Best price for a hotel right on Connecticut Ave. The room was clean and comfortable. As I am an entomologist I checked my room for bed bugs and found no evidence in a city infamous for this pest. A quick 2 block walk to the Univ.DC station on the red line Metro. I would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Clean but drab brown hallways. Coffee machine and computer at entrance very adequate on main floor. Rooms are small, yet clean and functional.Genuine Expedia guest review
Days Inn is close to the Metro Station and also close to most embassies. Main reason for staying here was because of a scheduled appointment with one of the embassy - which was 15 mins walk from Days Inn. Stayed in the room with a King size bed. Pros: 1. Close to Metro Station, food/bank 2. Bed was comfortable 3. Room as hairdryer, ironing board, safe, […] fridge and coffee maker (the usual stuff) 4. Security ( Front entrance locked by 10 pm. You need a key to unlock). Cons: 1. Either the room (maybe carpet?) or the bathroom had a 'smell' to it. Can't seem to pin point. But it was not so pleasant. Almost like a sewer, definitely not mold. You can smell this faint smell as you enter the room. The carpet had stains on it, maybe this is cause? (Room 215) 2. They provided 4 pillows, but I call them mini pillows because it was half the size of a normal pillow! 3. You have to pay $20 for parking! With tax, that cost $23.60 and this was for my one day stay. 4. TV in the living had a line on the screen, indicating that it needs to be changed. 5. No USB charger! 6. Other occupants where noisy at 11 PM, we could hear people/kids talking/laughing loudly and running in the corridor. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Clean and priced right..."
What a bargain. I just needed a simple room for 1 night in DC, and everything in Downtown was over $220, so a quick 4-stop ride on the Metro-subway brought me to this Days Inn; for a sub $100 price, I'd definitely stay here again. This hotel has a horrible musty smell on our floor that our room was on. The room was cramped with too much furniture that looked very old and outdated. This hotel needs to be updated and cleaned. "Cheap but not worth it"
I didn't expect much from this hotel considering the price. I only wanted a place to sleep and shower. However I couldn't sleep all night because the pipes kept making a horrible banging noise and when I finally gave up and went to take a shower there was no hot water. I called the desk and they said to let it run, sometimes it takes a while for the […] hot water to start. I let it run for 20 minutes and it was still freezing cold. When I checked out I again spoke with the receptionist and her only response was "I don't know what to tell you." I went to work exhausted and unbathed. Not worth even the cheap price.
