We used this hotel to stay at while we were in the area looking for houses for our relocation. It was very clean and there were no problems at all. The only nuisance that occurred during our stay were some rowdy kids in town for a baseball tournament and the front desk quickly took care of this problem.

The hotel had a musty mildew and even animal smells and heavy amounts of febreeze was used to disquise bad smells. There were many unrepaired damaged wallpaper and walls and carpet. The hallways were hot and stuffy in April. The hotel had obviously fallen on bad times and was not worth the high price they were charging for the room. hotel was convieniently located for our visit. Was a decent place just not what i'm used to anymore. staff was extremely nice and breakfast was good. the room wasn't as updated as I would have liked and the one day we hung out there till noon or so and the maids were doing laundry across from our room. made a sewer smell in our room. it wasn't in the […] other room we had just the one i was in. it left after a while and i didn't even mention it to the hotel staff. overall it was what i would give a 3.5 out of 5 rating. I actually stayed at this hotel for a work related trip I had to make to Charleston. For my purposes, this hotel was close enough to the city to get my work done, yet less expensive than a lot of the hotel in the main part of Charleston. I think Summerville is sort of like a suburb for the Charleston area. There are plenty of restaurants for you to […] choose from in the area, as well as stores for you to do the inevitable incidental shopping that comes with traveling. Holiday Inn Express is one of my favorite hotel chains and this one was no disappointment. The hotel staff was extremely nice. And the continental breakfast was pretty good. My only minor complaint--one I readily admit the staff can do nothing about--is that this hotel is older, and unfortunately it does show its age a bit. But, I still walked away feeling that, compared to other hotels, this one was a pretty good deal. Read more

I really don't know what the noise was but I was in Rm 103 infront of the offices. There was a lot of noise from what I believe was the elevator all night or it was something else. All I know is the noise kept waking me up.

We were shocked, the first day we checked in our room was great. We went to the festival the next day. Sa we were driving to the event my wife said ,OH, I left my ear rings on the desk, and I said yes i saw them there.. O well I;ll just go without them. When we returned they were gone. I noified the desk, they called the manager. the matter was looked […] into and the person who cleaned our room gave the manager one story as to why she found them in her pocket when she got home, and gave another story to the desk clerk after she returned them. The room itself had NOT been touched I had to make 4 trips to the front desk to get bathroom linnen and other things like drinking cups. was a bad ending to a great day at the festival. The hotel looks great from the outside but it's a little more dated on the inside. The room was comfortable but the paint was pretty chipped on the room door and the bathroom door, giving it a sketchy feel. Breakfast was good but missed the fruit. Overall, pretty good for the price.

Our stay was okay. The doors on the rooms needed to be repainted and they made some noise when you opened them. The cleaning staff left their cart and vacuum in our room, then laughed about it when we called the front desk to tell them. The staff at the front desk were nice and helpful. The air conditioner leaked on the carpet.

The TV service was way below par. The refrigerator cabinet blocked part of the view of the screen from the lone chair. The cabinet should be swapped with the desk. The staff was nice, but my complaint about this hotel is that is had an odd odor to it - like too many cleaning chemicals. I noticed it the minute I walked into the lobby as well as in my room. The smell lingered in my clothes, even when I unpacked when I got home.

I am visually impaired and Keyona at the front desk was outstanding. She offered to get breakfast for me in the morning and helped me find my way around when she saw me in the lobby. She is friendly and awesome! I will stay there many times in the future.
