There is nothing outrageously wrong with this Comfort Inn. It's just that for the price, there are lots and lots of other options that would be better. The small negatives: the location is not convenient to anything; there's no refrigerator in the room; the double-curtains are nearly see-through. This hotel is better than I expected. Clean room, complimentary breakfast, big gym. Only down side is my room window is facing the highway so a little noisy at night. Not a busy road though, so not too bad. Overall, I am very satisfied.

While most hotels offer queen beds this one begs to differ... I guess I missed the fine print (double beds). pool area was really very nice. Rates were awesome. Brkfst was below avg for hot food. Overall though I would say not bad.

The hotel was very clean and everything was in great condition. The staff was great and the breakfast buffet was perfect for getting the day started. The only thing that I did not have was a refrigerator in my room. It was no big deal but it would have been useful in keeping some cold water on hand.

Our family booked 2 rooms for an overnight stay to visit the Univ of Pitt. Both rooms clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good, but dining area was a bit crowded and tight. We asked in advance for adjoining rooms or next door. When we checked in they acknowledged our request, but said while they do their best to meet the needs, they were almost full […] and could not do so. I mentioned these reservations were booked 2 weeks in advance. After some searching, they were able to make these arrangements. Hotel was a very good value, and would stay there again. Read more

We stayed here for two nights, because the hotels near University of Pittsburgh (our destination) were all booked. The hotel and room was OK, but the bathroom ventilation fan was incredibly loud and bizarrely (if that's a word) powerful -- to the point where you had to pull the bathroom door pretty hard to close it due to the vacuum created by the fan. […] There was no obvious control for it in the bathroom. When I called the front desk, I was told that it runs ALL the time, and cannot be turned off! It was somewhat tolerable for sleeping, as long the bathroom door was kept closed. The hotel was clean, there were lots of large towels in the bathroom. Heater worked well. Staff were helpful. Breakfast was outstanding with lots of choices hot and cold. Close to the highway for easy access. I liked being able to look out onto the highway to see if the snow was impeding traffic any. One thing they should fix is the usefulness of the […] closet. The closet space measured 50 inches side to side. The oversized doors were to large and only allowed 18" of access to the closet on either side. This meant that at most there was 12" to hang your clothes on since the closet rod did not run end to end. They should take the closet doors off. Read more

I enjoyed my stay. The staff was nice. The only issue I had was the teenager's running up & down the hallway until 1:30 a.m. in the morning. Also you could here the people in the bar cheering & laughing. Luckily that didn't stop me from going to sleep. I would definitely stay again.

We just needed an overnight before same day surgery at Children's Hospital. I asked for a room on the first floor to accomidate handicap. My needs were met! Our room was quite comfortable. We did take advantage of the pool, and while the water temperature was a little cool, we enjoyed. Breakfast was well prepared and everything tasted great.

Was surprisingly quiet for being right off the highway. Breakfast was really good (waffle maker!) and the fitness center was clean and relatively spacious. My only complaints would be - no fan in the bathroom, and the curtains don't actually close all the way. Overall, a perfectly fine hotel for those on a budget.

We checked into this hotel in August 2012 for a one-night stay. We noticed that there was a funky Febreze smell throughout the hotel corridor leading to the rooms. By the next morning, it smelled like raw sewer permeated the hallway. The interior access layout of the hotel was confusing and extremely inconvenient. Even the teenagers would get lost going […] from the room to the lobby. The staffs were nice, the breakfast and rooms wer ok, and there was ample of parking. Redone since the last time I stayed there, this (now) Comfort Inn is better than when it was a Holiday Inn. Kind of what you would expect, but was surprised that the long hallways were rather quiet...maybe the hotel was empty. I'd shoot to stay on the 2nd or 3rd floor when possible. Rooms had new carpets, beds and baths along with new wallpaper. The […] restaurant was open as well (weak, premade breakfast, but the coffee, danish and fruit was good). The bar I guess has since closed as we stopped in for a nightcap at 1045 on a Sat night and the doors were locked. Pool looked find, and the workout room appears to have been redone. There were 3 buildings there. The employee gave us a room in building 3, the farthest from the front desk. I asked her if there were any rooms available in the main building, she stated no. I went to to see the room and was not satisfied with the location. She then placed us in building 2. There is a freeway next to the windows so it was very noisy […] and uncomfortable. The next morning I asked to be moved and the front desk then placed us in the main building where it was quiet. I stayed for four nights, on one of the days the trash was not picked up and there was a dirty soiled pillow case on the bed with a stain and blood. My 11 year old daughter noticed the pillow. If an 11 year old can pay attention to details, I don't understand why adult personnel at the hotel did not. The other 3 days, the room appeared to be clean. The breakfast was also convenient. I thought the hotel was great. My only complaint was that I believe the carpets had been recently cleaned in my room and they were still wet during my stay but I just kept my flip flops on when I was walking around the room.

My daughter and I were in Pittsburgh to visit colleges for two days, and I was looking for an inexpensive hotel--not fancy, just clean and nice. We were pleased the first night. The room was a good size, nicely furnished, nicely updated bathroom, beds comfortable, everything appeared clean, and it had a really comfy reading chair and ottoman. However, […] when we got back from a long, exhausting day, the a.c. had been off, and the room smelled moldy. I cranked it up, and as the moldy smelled lessened, a urine smell replaced it. When I took off my shoes, I realized the carpet was wet everywhere. That just exacerbated our annoyances from the night before that normally I'd forgive--the traffic was really loud, no fan in the bathroom, the tub didn't drain, and t.v. reception was spotty. Also, we were so far from the front desk that we couldn't get wi-fi; the hotel was nice about giving us an ethernet cable, but there was only one jack in the room. Also, they apparently store a rollaway bed and the cleaning cart in the really long hallway. I felt like we were staying in a super cheap (which it wasn't) motel. They should've known not to rent out a room in that condition. I wouldn't trust this hotel after this experience, and I'm pretty sure I won't stay in a Comfort Inn again. Read more

Everything was great. Free breakfast was above average even compared to other Comfort Inn's. Only issue was the cleaning person knocking on my door at 8:30 am and then again a few minutes later until I got up from being asleep and answered it. She apologized and I am sure she wasn't trying to disturb us, but it was not appropriate.

I entered my room at 6pm, immedaite used the bathroom in whcih I slipped on the floor as it was still wet. I went to a local mall and came back to kick off my shoes in whcih the entire carpet was wet. I called the front desk after not being able to get on their non secured internet. She was no help. I went to the front desk with my laptop. After it […] was reset I could then get on. My room on the inside 1st floor, #172, and faced the courtyard with the lights that stayed on all night. The curtains were white shears with decorative drapes on the sides but yet could not close. Therefore the lights shined in my room ALL NIGHT! I had cobwebs in the corners of the room and apparent mold on the ceiling. I did check the bed for bed bugs first thing and did not see anything. I took pictures and will email those to the headquarters. I was reluctant to stay here but the closest Mariott was booked. I will stcik to my standards of the Hilton, Hampton or Mariott. I wouldn't reccommend this place to anyone! I was absolutely disgusted and very tired driving home 4 hours after having a restless night's sleep. Oh yeah... the bed was like sleeping on the floor.
