Elysees Union Hotel - Paris

Between Eiffel Tower and Arc d' Triomphe and we could see Tower from our window. Walking distance to bus tour stop which we would suggest also. Our first trip to Europe and we LOVED it !!!

The staff was excellent, but the room was not. It was dirty and not well maintained. There were stains on the drapes, floor, and pillow covers. one of the reasons we picked this Hotel was because they had mentioned some rooms had views of the Eiffel Tower. Although we presumed that all rooms couldn't have such views, we were very disappointed that our room was pretty dark with a small window and a dreadful view. It had deep walls on either side outside of the window with a narrow view in the […] middle of some apartments. It was really just like looking down a shaft......and the floor down there was just tons of cigarette ends.....really distasteful. I did go down and explained to the man on the front desk that we were very disappointed with the view and he did give us another key to view a different room. This one had a much nicer view.....French doors (with a wide windowsill, fenced of with decorative wrought iron), opening onto the street in front (fine, as we were on the 4th floor). It was lovely to see the life going on outside....and ....we had a view of the EiffelTower! Don't know why they didn't offer us this one first time. Other than that it was fine. Read more

We had booked a room that would accomodate 2 adults and a child. At check-in the hotel charged us 30 Euros a day extra for the child over and above the Hotels.com charge. At check-out the hotel charged us another 4 Euros per day above the Hotels.com charge as city tax. Hotels.com refunded the 30 Euros charge. Its a nice clean basic old construction […] hotel. Staff is english speaking. Hotel is a couple hundred yards from train station and a mile walk from Eiffel Tower, and less than mile's walk to Arc de Triumphe and Champs De Elysses. Breakfast was part of the hotel rate, and was very good. WiFi is not free. I would stay thier again, if not for the unexpected charges I was faced with. Read more

We loved it! Their continental breakfast is very sumptuous for just 20 euros more per room. We were quite nervous about what to expect as it was a last minute booking. But very pleasantly surprised. I loved the hotel. The staff was very nice and spoke English- which I appreciated very much. Our room was clean and quiet even though it faced the street. Breakfast was lovely. Our hotel was in the Trocadero area between the Arch de Triumphe and Eiffel Tower. The Eiffel Tower was outside our window WOW! The street noise was loud since the hotel was about 50 yards from a major street. Parisians ride loud motorcycles all hours of the day and night. A hotel further away from a major street would be quieter—I just wore ear plugs. […] We were 3 min from the subway. We always had to transfer to another line in the subway to get to museums, trains, etc. The subway is an amazing system but has lots of steps, hallways, etc as it connects the different lines. Our hotel wasn’t near any of the major museums, and next time we go we will find a quieter hotel nearer the museums. Our hotel was very nice and the day clerk was friendly, helpful and spoke English. The night clerk did not speak English. Our room was very small (just big enough for two twin beds shoved together, desk and fridge with expensive goodies). There was no clock, no coffee pot, no microwave.. There is no action at night, very few cafes, restaurants, etc. The hotel served a nice continental breakfast and we found out after the fact that it was not complimentary. We walked miles every day and to relax at night we tried to watch TV but there was only French speaking channels. The hotel charged 13 euros a day/68 euros a week to use the internet, so we paid it to see some American TV. The internet access, however, was very limited and did not get any U.S. streaming video websites. Read more

The hotel is basic yet very clean and the staff are great. The rooms are not sound proofed but are comfortable. We had to move rooms after the first night as there was a very strange smell which made it difficult to sleep and seemed to be coming from the aircon which we needed on as it was snowing outside. The smell can only be described like an electrical […] burning smell. We were moved without question but told it was normal. 2 of the rooms had masking tape around the door. not sure what was being hidden but may have contributed o the smell. There are no coffee and tea facilities in the rooms which would have been nice. The location is great and very close to 2 metro stops. You can see the Eiffel Tower and a stones throw from the Arc De Triomphe. Breakfast is simple but effective and the wifi signal is good. We don't do city breaks to stay in the hotel and the location is a winner. It's definitely a 3 star and reasonable value with very friendly and helpful staff. Read more

I had seen pics of this hotel and expected it to be a bit outdated but to my surprise it was quite modern. There was no flowered wallpaper or stained carpet in the bedroom but rather painted white walls with tastefull pictures hanging, a large leather headboard and new carpet. The bathrrom looked renovated as well with new tiles on the floor and a granite […] vanity. It was quiet at night ( our room faced the courtyard). the people working at reception were great, check in/out was quick, the free breakfast was good enough for us, they had cereal, yogurt, croissants and other breads and fresh fruit (bananas, apples ect)...only downfall really was we would have liked more english tv channels when relaxing at night but hardly a deal breaker since we were barely in the hotel. The views were gorgeous especially the eiffel tower from the entrance and the restaurant next door. The courtyard and facilities of the hotel were lovely. The only minor setback was the overal cleanliness of the rooms as they were a bit dusty and although there was a kitchen, there were no utensils available in order to use it.

Il est fort dommage que dans la saale de bais il n'y est pas plus de rangements pour pouvoir posé ces produits aainsi que des produits javelisants pour les toilettes afin d enlever cette odeur d'urine. Le petit déjeuner se situe en sous sol, ce qui est fort désagréable de manger dans un endroit sans fenêtre. Mais à part cela, ce fut correct. Un hôtel très cozy et très bien placé soit pour les touristes que pour les homes d’affaires. Une fois les travaux terminés la cour intérieure sera très agréable te pourrait être utilisée comme café ou sale de the pour les clients. L'hotel si trova in posizione strategica. Peccato che la camera in cui mi hanno alloggiato era ben diversa da quelle mostrate sul sito. Sarebbe stato un appartamento comodo se non fosse stato per: mini appartamento vecchio, scomodissimo da raggiungere con i bambini, rischioso perchè non solo lontano da uscite di sicurezza,ma anche per l'accesso angusto, […] raggiungibile infatti dal 4 piano discendendo per una vecchissima scala a chiocciola,divani sporchi, sotto le lenzuola del letto matrimoniale c'erano capelli e peli. Moquette sporca a chiazze, doccia inutilizzabile tanto del calcare presente. Mobili per la maggior parte rovinatissimi, porta sfogliata. Uscita dall'appartamento tutto OK. hall confortevole sala per la colazione confortevole. Colazione continentale falsa. Ci hanno servito yogurt, marmellate, nutella,cereali e cornetti.
