We were very pleased with the hotel. We had taken my mother-in-law for Mother's Day. The hotel was very clean, the room was big enough for three of us and had a private balcony. Would definitely stay there again.

I was very surprised at the cleanliness of the hotel, kindness of the staff, etc. One thing of note was that they wash all the duvet covers. That in itself is such a comforting thought when you hear horror stories about how germ-laden hotel bedspreads are (and I'm not even a germophobe). It was a very pleasant stay and I would choose them again! =)

My wife and I stayed here back in September 2012 and it was wonderful but this time it wasn't as nice. In 7 months time I see more wear and tear in the hotel. The hotel has been there for three years according to a staff member. I noticed the signs in the elevators peeling off, carpet showing signs of stains and wear. The tub also drained very slowly […] which means that it is probably in need of cleaning out the drain. Initially we were put in a room next to a family with noisy children, and I went back to the check-in desk to ask for a room change and the girl working there acted if she was bothered by my request. She made the room change but didn't even say she was sorry and that is sad to me because that shows no interest in customer service. I would stay here again but hope that next time that the hotel has done some updating and fixed these problems that were mentioned. Read more

I booked a weekend stay last minute when the February blahs really got to me. It was 75 and sunny both days and in the low 60's at night. The staff was quite helpful and the hotel is new and clean, the room very comfortable and the grounds gorgeous. I loved the pool and hot tub. This Hampton Inn is a step above most Hampton Inns. The decor is beautiful and the amenities are well done. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door and the front desk staff was always very helpful. As many may be aware, Jekyll Island is going through a Cinderalla transformation. The Hotel was great, the room was very nice.......sleeping was like trying to sleep with your head in a clothes dryer. The pool was right outside of the end of our wing.....the pool pump must have been right up against the wall on the outside of where the head of the bed was. It ran constantly. This is an awesome hotel -- probably the nicest on Jekyll Island overall and certainly the nicest I've ever stayed at there. The hotel is relatively new, well-maintained, and very nice. We love riding bikes on Jekyll Island and although this hotel is not centrally located, it's also only a 5 min ride by car (15 min by bike) to the historic district. Our king suite faced the pool and tree tops and it was very comfortable. You cannot see the ocean from any of the rooms at this hotel because the live oaks' tree tops block your view but […] you can hear the ocean sounds and their boardwalk is really super nice with platforms to sit and relax. We visited in December and the jacuzzi was great although the pool was not heated as I was first told by phone. The gym looked new and nice but we didn't use it. The breakfast was mostly carbs, nothing to be excited about, but the coffee station was great. My only real complaint would be the poor quality of all the bikes for rent. They charge $10 a day but ALL of them were poorly maintained and completely rusted, including the pedals and handles and chains. So if you want to ride bikes on Jekyll then you better bring your own or try to rent them at the Jekyll Island Club or another hotel. Read more

The Hampton Inn on Jekyll Island is a new hotel. The location right behide the dunes gives it a nice and sheltered location from the wind. The hotel is void of amenities like a spa or good restaurant. This is a place to go to for some relaxation. This was a last minute getaway for my wife and I after the Thanksgiving Weekend and I must say it was wonderful. Jeckyll Island is a wonderful place if you want to slow down and just enjoy a wonderful sunrise or a nature walk. We arrived early and had a wonderful lunch at "Fins"! After that we explored a bit and then went to check in (Lindsey assisted […] us), our King Suite was spacious and offered all of the amenities we needed. After relaxing for a bit we checked back in at the Front Desk to inquire whether it would be worth driving down to the historic district for the "Tree Lighting"... John was the shuttle driving and advised us that it would be more prudent to take the free hotel shuttle. We did just that and I'm glad we did! It was packed! We walked and toured the historic district enjoying a wonderful "Brass Ensemble" that were playing holiday classics. After the Tree Lighting Ceremony we enjoyed fireworks and headed back to relax... Free cookies and coffee were set out and we took some back to our room to watch a movie and enjoy the crisp night air on the patio. Hampton Inn Jekyll Island was an ideal getaway. They provide bike rentals where you can ride on the beaches and just float across the island as if you were in your oun paradise. We went in early November and the Hottub was hot, and the pool comfortable to cool off in. The only complaint is the cleanliness of the hottub on our first day was not to standard. […] However, upon saying something to the concierge they cleaned the tub and it was pleasant for the remainder of our stay. Keep in mind, we showed up shortly after Hurricane Sandy went up the coast, so there was an excuse for stuff floating in the hottub. Once they were made aware of our concerns, they had it cleaned. Outside of this, the Island is relaxing, the rooms very very comfortable, breakfast was very adequate for a Hotel breakfast. The local resteraunts were ideal and the food was delicious. I must recommend anyone visiting to go to the Driftwood resteraunt and order the bread pudding. I hate bread pudding but when I had a taste of my wife's we went back the next night just for dessert. It was to die for! It is nothing like what you would expect. Delicious. Again the staff here were ever so helpful with anything we asked from cleaning the pools, to giving us recommendations for activities and dining. The beach was quiet with no one hardly to bother you. I had read other reviews of this hotel before I made reservations. The reviews were favorable and, as it turns out, so is the hotel. My wife and I were there from mid afternoon on Wednesday until late morning Sunday. The hotel grounds are very nice, the staff was excellent and the beach was wonderful. Kind of quiet and secluded area of a quiet and secluded […] barrier island. It was exactly what we were looking for. Our room was clean and freshened daily. Breakfast was very good and there was always coffee, cookies and/or fruit available in the lobby. Bicycles are available at a reasonable price and there is a great bike trail throughout the island as well as riding on the beach. We took the short trip to St. Simons Island for a little more excitement and available restaurants a couple of times but were happy to come back to the quiet of Jekyll Island in the evenings. We were down looking at some real estate and stayed at this Hampton Inn which was outstanding. very new and well maintained grounds and the AM BK was super. What a wonderful place to stay for two days and we didn't want to leave! This time of year here is very quite because kids are back in school and you have the beach to yourself. The Hampton Inn is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in and the staff were very friendly. It was nice to here the southern accent again being that I'm a Georgia native […] but I have lived out of the state for 34 years and hadn't seen Jekyll Island for 44 years. It was a pleasant surprise to see how it has changed for the better. If you are expecting to see clear blue ocean here you will be disappointed but that is the way I remember it being those 44 years ago. It will want to see Driftwood Beach on the NE part of the Island and we thoroughly enjoyed the food at the Driftwood Bistro. The only issues I had at the hotel was the entry door to our room, room 403, because it was very squeaky and in the laundry room a dryer hose was off, which put lots of lint on the dryers and on the floor. This Hampton is relatively new and very well-appointed. The room was modern in style and very comfortable. Jekyll Island is a jewel, and everything we wanted to do or see was a short car ride away. Our stay at Hampton Inn was very nice with a few little inconveniences. We checked in on a friday night - The staff was awesome - we were booked on the first floor - the desk clerk accomodated us when we asked for a room on the top floor - we got a room on the fourth floor with an awesome view of the park. The balcony was awesome - and it was so quiet […] at night. We enjoyed sitting outside listening to the bugs. - Reminder - pack bugspray - it really came in handy. Saturday, when we returned from the beach, housekeeping informed us that we had checked out - we went to the front desk to ask why - (we were booked through sunday) - The lady at the front desk gave us a new key - no apology - no "enjoy the rest of your stay" We thought she was very rude and inconsiderate - Customer service is everything to me.
