Days Inn Roanoke Airport I-81 - Roanoke

I have worked on the road in years past and have seen alot worse than this hotel. I found overall it really wasn't a bad stay vs. the price and the breakfast was better than some I have had in more expensive places.

As we walk out of our room one morning, the housekeeping cart is there so we ask for extra towels. When we return in the evening, the room had not been cleaned at all! The Hotel was good. The food in the bar was excelent. The only 2 gripes i have is it said on hotels.com it was 13 miles to our destination when it turned out to be 40 miles away. The front desk was very helpful mapping out our route. If i knew it was that far away we would booked a closer hotel. Oh yes also there was a lousy weekend complimentary breakfast. […] I was there for 3 mornings. There was a crockpot of sausage gravey that sat there 3 days. We were limited to waffles & cereal. First morning was great when the American was running it after that it was a landside. You won't post this i know it falls under the heading hotel amenities. I just wanted somebody to read this. It's near I-81, I thought it would be noisy, but it is all right. Room is clean and spacious, however, the breakfast is too bad ... You have nothing to eat. Overall, it is great~

It meet my basic needs. It was clean, it was affordable and it was located on my travel route. Sure it could have used some updating but the water was hot, the sheets were clean and nobody bothered my car. So if you are looking for a clean, safe place that is affordable .. this is as fine a place to crash.

Location is convenient for our purposes in Roanoke. Pet accommodation work our well. A couple of times, smoking nearby came into our room through the air venting. Breakfast was good.

The biggest problem was the noise....I could hear people in the bathroom next door, and also heard lots of noise in the hallway. The free breakfast was pretty skimpy, no eggs or meat of any sort, only cereal or waffles.

The people at the desk were helpful. The room was clean and none of the customary supplies, shampoo, etc. were missing. The TV worked as did the coffee maker. Very pleasant stay.

Got tickets for a VT game but it was short notice and all the blacksburg places sold out or off the charts expensive. This was 1/3 rd the price and not too far......glad we picked this place. A bit older but clean and seemed like a safe place.

We were on ground floor and our window glass was cracked and flimsy. Not very secure feeling. There was a lounge/bar at one end of hotel. Did not hear noise or see any problems, but was a little unnerving. We were only staying one night and beds were confortable and room was quiet. Ok for overnight.

This was our 2nd time here, we stayed here on our way up to a college Alumni Event in NYC. Great Breakfast Buffet, King Size Bed was very comfy. Close to town and nearby grocery stores. Staff was helpful and polite. We look forward to staying here again.

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for 24hrs - we arrived 4 hours before official checking in time, but were given a room immediately. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The beds were super comfortable. The restaurant adjacent was undergoing renovation but they too looked after us. Breakfast next morning was very good. We booked the hotel […] because it was near the airport, but it was a 20$ cab ride to the nearest mall. Hotel staff were pleasant and helpful. We should have known not to expect so much as the door creaked so loudly upon opening. The wall paper was peeling and the wall looked like there had been a leak. There was cobwebs on the ceiling. The sheets looked clean but given the discovery, of the cobwebs, I was apprehensive.

Comfortable place, get what you pay for. Sketchy wi-fi access when it is stormy. Mostly clean but there is an underlying odor that smells like pet urine or stale feet. Seemed to come from the a/c . Changed rooms and it was the same. Still I was mostly satisfied during the week we stayed. Good amountof grass around the hotel to walk our dog.

The cleanliness of the rooms was not really a problem, but the hotel charges extra for pets and nevertheless the pet odor was extremely bad. I expect an occasional smell in pet friendly place, but we stayed in 4 different properties during this trip and this was the only one that bothered us, and it bothered a great deal.

Two minor issues: The hotels.com site said it was pet-friendly, but did not disclose the $15 pet fee, which I was told about upon check-in. Hotel was fine, very clean and in good repair, but the name is misleading. It is no where near the airport nor is it in Roanoke. If it was we had to drive a long way to get to anything. It's right off the highway which makes it great to stop on a trip, but we were hoping for a nicer place close to SOMETHING. It was close to NOTHING. Overall it was a decent place. It has a bar/restaraunt semi-attached, that is pretty lively at times. The only drawbacks were that the shower was at a very low height. I am only average height and it only came up to my shoulders.

The bathroom was clean. However, the chairs in the room were stained and dirty. The carpet was the same. When we got into bed and had fallen asleep my husband found a small toy truck under in between the sheets of the bed. The bed had evidently NOT been changed from the prior guest. When we reported the incident to the next morning the employee on duty […] did not apologize. He handed a card to us and asked us to call the manager later in the day. When attempting to reach the manager, we were told he took the day off. Yesterday my husband did reach the manager only to be told or reassured that housekeeping did clean the room, which meant the sheets were changed. We were refunded $50. We found this totally unacceptable. We have stayed a many hotels during our marriage and have only once encountered an experience close to this.
