I really only stayed at this hotel for about 8 hours after my flight was cancelled. The hotel itself was pretty nice and service was good, but it was unfortunately outweighed by the very loud road noise outside the room I stayed in. "Absolutely Loved It!"
When I arrived it was nice to be acknowledged by the front desk. Ashley recognized me and welcomed me back. That makes me feel my business is appreciated. I was in a King Suite that faced the pool. Sat out on the balcony in the beautiful weather Atlanta was having and enjoyed a cocktail. The room was immaculate. Walked down the street to Spondivits […] for some seafood. Felt safe walking there and back. The only draw back is the parking fee. I had a friend come and visit me. He did not like the idea of having to pay for parking. I agree. Parking should be complimentary for guests. I understand the procedure is probably to detour airport passengers from parking in their lot and taking the hotel shuttle to the airport in order to avoid airport parking fees. The hotel wasn't bad in overall cleanliness and is well maintained. However, if you suffer with neck problems like I do and need a comfortable bed don't book this hotel. The bed was so hard I woke up with lines on my skin from my pj top. It had actually pressed into my arm because there was not softness. I travel over 76 days a year. I am a platinum member of IHG. The front desk clerk would NOT give me a late check out. So I bought an additional night. She was confused and double billed me. I talked with her manager over the phone. The manager tried to correct the error however it will take 2-3 days for it to leave my credit card. "Clean but horrible service"
The room was clean and that is the only positive thing I can say. While checking inthe desk clerk was do busy yelling to a co-worker, she barely spoke to me. Later my husband and I went to the bar and waited 10 minutes to be noticed, all the while the manager, who was covering for the bartender, sat chatting with the restaurant host. "Best Hotel Experience"
All of the staff were extremely polite. I wasnt able to stay for breakfast as it was just an over night stay and we had to leave early the next morning, but I imagine it is amazing. There was plenty of variety on the room service menu and I liked that they offered complimentary items like razors, shaving cream, etc if you had forgotten this at home. […] They also offered a crib for me to set my one year old daughter in for bed. When I first heard this I was concerned that it wouldnt be up to my standards but upon getting the crib I was happy to learn that everything was neat, clean and followed safety guidelines. It was great to be able to lay her down for bed there instead of putting her in bed with me and my boyfriend while all 3 of us tried to get a good nights sleep in either a cramped bed or me and my boyfriend having to sleep seperate. There was a particular staff member there who I have to comment on. His name was David I believe. He was absolutely amazing and very hospitable. My boyfriend arrived a bit early than I had expected and he helped him find a good parking spot where we wouldnt be charged double parking on two vehicles when we would only be using one (I had a rental car that I was returning after my arrival). This hotel is newly renovated and the rooms are very nice for a hotel at this rate. I would guess that nothing in the room is over a year old. We had two queen beds and lots of pillows. I was very disappointed with my stay at this hotel. When I checked in, they made it a point to point out that I booked through a discount site and treated me like I did not deserve to be there. I also was not aware that there is a $12.00 charge FOR PARKING which is ridiculous. They also charged us $50.00 for a deposit. I know it is standard that hotels […] will hold your card for IF you cause damages, but they CHARGED us the money up front and said it would be returned in THREE TO FIVE business days if there were no damages. There were also random cleaning cloths laying in our bathroom when we checked in which should have been removed. Lastly, when I jumped on WIFI, the Holiday Inn came page came up first and it said KIDS EAT FREE. This excited me since we were there for my daughters birthday and I thought it would be a nice experience for her. When I called the front desk to ask about it she rudely informed me that NO kids do not eat free. Why put it on your website if it doesn't apply to all guests?
