"People Make the Difference"
Forced to stay over in Miami for a night due to flight cancellation. The staff at this hotel were of such excellent quality, they turned a bad night around. Front desk, restaurant, sundries... all were spectacularly pleasant and helpful. The room itself could do with a facelift, but it was comfortable and a place to crash. Internet connection a bit slow. Restaurant food was surprisingly varied and good! Service, all around excellent.

"NOT WORTH THE MONEY"
I used to work in that hotel 40 years ago and the rooms have not changed structure since,decorations some but they are still very small and in order to get to the bathroom you have to close the door behind you!! The room was not cleaned after I left at noon!! The room is on the first floor and it overlooks the back street, I did not feel safe in a Miami neighborhood with only a glass between me and the street!! They charge $10 for parking in a parking lot open to the street.There is no where to get cofee during the day.

"Close to University of Miami"
General manager on duty was wonderful. She had a great attitude. Unfortunately, there was a different evening manager on duty on our last night at the hotel. He was extremely rude and dismissive. There are lots of college students living at the hotel from University of Miami. The bar and restaurant is nice and the food is really good.

"avoid if you like your beauty rest"
Start with the pros: the service was great upon check-in. Brandon was very patient and helpful after a long day. Major points for him! Room was clean and it's in the middle of the lovely Coral Gables area. Cons: I suspect that university visitors stay here and we must have been on the party floor. When I called the front desk to complain about the noise at 1 am, they were quick to respond, but the quiet didn't last long.

"Very good value and good service."
The service at the front desk is exellent. They go out of their way to help you. The bathrooms are small, the lights are bright and the hall rug is worn. Inside is a typical Holiday Inn but the pool aea is terrific. Balconies overlook the pool, with tables and umbrellas and lounge chairs. Very nice and rellaxing. Walking distance to Starbucks, Dennys and McDonalds.

"Good value."
Great hotel for visiting the Univ. of Miami. Its a good value for the area. Anything better is about twice the price. The room had a pillow top bed, clean, modern bath, fridge, microwave, etc. No complaints. BEST part was the front desk staff. Michelle and Moira and the other people I interacted with were courteous, helpful, and professional. The breakfast buffet is $15 if you pay separately. Its nothing special. Its convenient, but Denny's and McDonalds and Starbucks are one block north. The exercise room is small and old. They have an onsite coin op laundry room which was nice.

University scholar students live here so bicycles used & seen in hallways & elevator. Very polite. Excellent staff and restaurant breakfast buffet. Beautiful courtyard with pool. I needed a convenient place to stay close to South Miami Hospital while visiting a family member.

"Free Shuttle May or May Not Exist"
The online amenities mentioned a free hotel shuttle within 3 miles. When we arrived a staff member claimed the hotel shuttle did not exist. The next day a different staff member said it existed, but we needed to have placed a reservation the day before! Also, she had never heard of the "3 miles" guideline and claimed the shuttle only ran within a mile and a half. It was an enormous hassle; and cost us hours of travel time to sort out, as we had planned to take advantage of the shuttle.

"Great Hotel!"
My stay was excellent! My early arrival from the airport was greeted with a great "can do" attitude for my early check in. Moira was excellent! My room was comfortable, clean and had a balcony overlooking the pool exactly as I had requested. I had an evening meal in the hotel restaurant and the experience was excellent. The gentleman who served me went out of his way to make everything exactly as I liked it. Thank you so much for such a pleasurable visit.

This hotel is nice with many amenities and reasonable rates for Coral Gables. The only issues I have with comfort of the room are extremely noisy air conditioner units and no screen for window or balcony doors. I prefer fresh air at night, but couldn't leave window open because of insects.

We stayed here while visiting family. The location was great, the staff was very friendly. Pool was nice and never crowded. Was nice to have the restaurant/lounge in the hotel as well. Would stay there again.

The room was nothing to wrote home about, but it was clean and had a close proximity to the University of Miami. If you are looking for a high end hotel this is not it, but it is adequate for general needs.

"Has Everything You Need"
The location is fantastic. Near EVERYTHING in Coral Gables! A Friday's is 1 block away, a Starbucks 2 blocks away. The room is perfectly sized with desk and flat screen TV. Bathroom is light with adequate amenities. Cute pool with chaises and umbrellas. 2 computers for guest use with printer. Small but adequate fitness center. Morning coffee station! It was the perfect place to stay when you are out all day and then come back for a dip or change.

"Good location"
Close to coco walk and key biscayne beaches. Room decent. carpet cleaning noisy outside room in hallway. Chemicals used smelled horrible and took long time to dry. Restaurant too crowded for breakfast so had to go elsewhere

"May Alvarez was the best part of my stay!"
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Holiday Inn. The room was nice and the location was great. But the best part of the hotel was the friendly face at the front desk named May Alvarez. I was traveling alone for the first time and she made me feel right at home. I was in Miami on business and when I mentioned needing to get something printed and faxed she helped me right away. I also had a number of shipments both incoming and outgoing during my stay and May helped me carry the incoming packages which were really heavy. I give my stay a 5 star review (four of those stars belong to May). My only suggestion would be PLEASE get a cont. breakfast.

"Great location & EXCELLENT staff!"
We saw UM & stayed for 4 day's. The hotel is right across the st from the school. Jenny & the rest of the staff couldn't do enough for us. The room & bathroom were spacious. The pool area is great The food was GREAT! restaurant quality & reasonably priced. We will 100% be back!

"Very dated hotel with lipstick"
This is a very noisy hotel. Sound comfort was by far the worst. If your room is close proximity to the elevators, then it's guaranteed - you can't sleep. The elevators are extremely noisy and the rooms doors don;t have any sound isolation. I would not recommend to prepay this hotel as you's want to leave after the first night. Even if your room far away from the elevators, there still two major problems: one - any noise/sound in the hallway sounds like it is inside your room and second - the conditioner. The hotel does not have central air and each room has the cheap"in wall" air conditioner unit. The units are very old and very noisy. You will have to choose either to sleep or to cool the air. The only nice thing i have to give to the hotel is bed. The beds are very comfortable. Bathrooms ( very small size) have one sink and granite tops. If you must stay at this hotel, make sure that you are as far from (heavily, all night used) two elevators and as far as possible from traffic.

"Convenient to the University"
The hotel is ideally located for those visiting campus or a nearby hospital. Lots of shopping and restaurants in the area, too. Free parking a bonus. Staff were very efficient, friendly and helpful. Wifi access and speed was terrible. Room was clean except for some mold growing under the sink rim.

"The Central loaction"
General pleasant besides the bad experience with a centipede in the bathroom by a bathroom stop at 4.30 am in the morning and a security officer which knocked on our door round 11.00 pm to deliver a baby crip which was not for us.

"The Holday Inn on Dixie H'way, Coral Gables, Miami"
We found the hotel room very spacious and comfortable. Hotel service was adequate, and the room was cleaned daily. The restaurant in the lobby had a good menu, and happy hour at the bar. Although the location wasn't the best, the Metrorail across the street offerred a low cost means to tour the surrounding area. We feel the hotel should provide their guests with information on how to use public transportation. We had to find that on our own,

"decent place"
One nite stay. Hotel was clean and in a good location for restaurants and bars.. Room was ok. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom very small. There was a rather strong air freshener smell that really bothered my allergies.

"Nice stay!"
Juts what I'd expect from this chaln. Nice large room and comfortable bed. The staff was Outstanding. When I related my earlier stay at another motel the desk staff was so upset, they gave me a gift bag, comped a drink at the bar and gave me a discount coupon for dinner.I felt so spoiled.

"University of Miami - Best place to stay"
It is a 5 minute walk to the campus, in a very nice area and there are a lot of options to eat and buy nearby. The service is great, cleaning and everything but the bathroom could be better. Really enjoyed my time there.
