The Airway Inn was a pleasant surprise. It has been through an obvious recent update and I feel, deserves a higher star rating. The room was nicely appointed with fold out sofa, fridge and microwave and comfortable, though I wouldn't say "roomy". The service and attention was great. The hotel is well connected to Manhattan through metro and bus. Decent rooms for a good price and budget stay in NYC. I would recommend this for all those looking to stay as close to Manhattan with very little to spend.

For a big city like NY and the kind of traffic flow this hotel was decent, not very spacious but clean. Parking was free and not a hassle and it was close to where we wanted to be. The price was kinda high but again for NY this is expected. Overall I would recommend it if you just wanted a place to sleep that was clean and comfortable.

IF YOU LIKE TO LOOK AT THE UNDERSIDE OF AIRCRAFT LESS THAN 250 FEET OVERHEAD, THIS IS YOUR PLACE. THIS HOTEL IS IN THE FINAL APPROACH TO LGA. THE GUYS IN THE PARKING LOT LOOKING TO SIPHON GAS FROM CARS WAS ALSO ENTERTAINING. ONE NIGHT WAS ENOUGH!

Was working on Long Island due to Storm Sandy and needed a place fairly central to Brooklyn and Queens. Spent 2 nights here. It is on a busy commercial street and surrounded by blacktop. Maybe it's not Manhattan, but that's a secondary thought. The staff and experience of this hotel was wonderful. The chance to see New York and experience it's excellent public transportation is something I was excited to experience. The staff was friendly, giving and enjoyable. The hotel may not be overly fancy, but it is personable in so many ways. […] With a bus stop within a block of the hotel which gets you to the nearest rail station in mere minutes and New York is at your fingertips. To preface, weather canceled numerous flights at LaGuardia Airport resulting in limited availability of hotel rooms. We are a family of 5 traveling home to Alabama and checked in @ 8pm to room 305. During the first shower, the floor drain overflowed and began to soak the carpet in the room. We were then assigned to room 205, which is directly below […] room 305. Before moving the family and the luggage, I went to investigate our second assigned room. The water on the floor of 305 was leaking through the ceiling of the bathroom in 205. We were then assigned to room 405 but were asked to wait until housekeeping completed cleaning the room. By 9'ish room 405 was ready for us to inhabit. And of course during the next shower, the floor drain overflowed in room 405. By 9:45pm we were assured of two things, room 205 is now clean and no other guest will be staying in rooms 305 or 405. There were no other plumbing issues. The room did have a lingering cigarette odor as well as an occasional sewage odor. When we first entered our room the tempature was 83 degrees . We turned on the window AC unit and set the tempature to the coldest setting. The tempature of the room never got below 80 degrees the entire night and the tempature began to rise in the morning. We checked out at 11am and said we shall never return. Read more

We had a blast! We were with another family and the hotel was very accommodating to give us rooms next to each other on day of check-in. The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful with directions and recommendations to eat. No complaints for price. I parked my brand new suv in the lot for the 4 day stay. Parkjg was free and my truck was fine. […] It was very easy to use the Q33 bus right across the street on 82nd to Jackson heights subway the rode the subway thru whole city. The R (yellow line) took us all the way to central,park in about 20 minutes and tbasotho ferry at the other end of city. It is a local train so more stops. Read more

Needed a place close to the airport for an early morning flight after rain cancelled flight. Room smelled like smoke, had no clock and looked like it was from the 70's. Says "renovated in 2011" but they just retiled the bathroom floor and put in a new counter top...the rest of room same carpet, unfurniture, etc. I wouldn't sit on the chairs.

WIth the heat and humidity of NY it would have been nice if the air conditioning in the room had been turned on before we got there. Also we had to switch rooms when we got there as I had requested a non smoking room and the room that was assigned to us had obviously been smoked in. Once that was taken care of we had a pleasant stay.

There was a slight odor of cigarette smell, but the room had overall cleanliness and the beds were comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The size of our room with 2 double beds and the bathroom were quite small.

We got bumped from our flight and had to stay near LaGuardia airport unexpectedly. The Airway Inn was the best value and a very nice experience as well. I would definitely go there again. There was only one imperfection: the shuttle bus service to the terminal was not very organized, but otherwise everything was great.

Overall the hotel was a great stay for a great price. Nice size rooms that were very clean. Neighborhood surrounding the hotel was ok. Only downfall of the room was it seemed there was enough light to light the room. Always seemed a little dim.
