The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean but the hotel itself is a little shabby - it needs a makeover. Very gloomy. Location is perfect to gt on/off Rte 80.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights on Groundhog day weekend in 2013. This was the closest place we could find to Punsutawney, which is still more than 30-40 minutes away. But the hotel is very conveniently placed by the highway exit, so it's easy on, easy off. The hotel setup was not what we had expected, but it's not bad. The huge covered […] courtyard in the center of the hotel is surrounded by rooms. Each room facing the courtyard has an balcony overlooking the pool and recreation area (putting lane, ping pong table, etc...). This setup is great for family vacation with kids. In our case, we didn't use any of it (didn't have time since we spent most of our time in Punxsutawney), but it was actually nice to be in that kind of room rather than one on the parking lot side, because once all the kids were in bed, it was very quiet. There are multiple entrances all around the hotel structure, and remembering where you might have parked your car was a challenge... Breakfast was good, a little pricey, but we were given coupons for discount. Would stay there again. Oh, and if you ever have a chance to go to Punxsutawney for Groundhog Day, do it, it's fun. But cold, and you have to be there around 3-4am if you want a good spot to see Phil!!! Read more

Very friendly. Great breakfeast. Had to leave early in the morning around 5:30am and they made 4 To Go Bags for me and my family prior to our long drive. Breakfeast at 7:30am on Sundays so they didn't have to do this. Just an example of how nice the people were. This place is our number #1 spot when staying in Michigan.

The beds were horrible. They have an indoor pool so if you want to sleep passed 9am ask for a room that doesn't face the pool. The customer service at the front desk was fine however, when we asked to sit in the bar area before 5pm to watch a football game they seem annoyed. Also, when the waitress in the bar/restaurant area began working she said nothing […] to us. In fact, a table of 3 sat down and she didn't acknowledge them either. They eventually left. I finally just went to my room and brought back my own drink. Not sure how they make any money with service like that. Read more

Avoid this hotel. It's a 2-star hotel at a 4-star price. Although the room was clean, it was cold (no heat on a cold night) and the toilet did not work properly. The hotel does not provide a complementary breakfast, which is now standard in most motels. A guest is best off paying less for a lower-rated hotel. The motel is dated but in fairly good condition. Nice pool area and convenient to in-house restraurants. My only complaint is there were no elevators - had to haul the luggage to the 2nd floor.

The hotel was conveniently located to the site of our family reunion. It is an old facility and compared to most contemporary hotels, the facility itself rates lower, however, the staff was excellent and courteous.

Nice hotel. Friendly staff. I would come here again. However, I had the breakfast buffet one morning. When I recieved the bill, I gave my room number and name. 10 mins. afterwards I was in my room and got a call from the front desk. Aparently since I ordered my room through a website, the hotel didn't have a credit card on file for me. I told them I […] would come up front to pay for the meal. For a quick overnight it was nice. Wouldn't want to stay a long time there. The inside rooms are dark and noisy from the pool. Night crew on the desk were not very welcoming. Also, there was a bat in the hallway.

Used hotel.com to book the stay. Reserved a King room got a room with 2 queens instead. There was a wedding that rocked the hotel and kept my son up till 11pm. No elevator which is hard with small children, card reader on doors to stairs worked intermittently. Had to call and complain about noise, and there is no breakfast included with stay. Overall, […] will never stay in a holiday inn again. All the staff did is complain about hotels.com. They never tried to appease the situation about getting the wrong room or apologize for the noise. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. The room was clean but smelled a little (probably because it was a smokking room, and I'm a smoker so it didn't bother me). I'm sure the non-smoking rooms are different. The hotel is pretty dated, but has a very nice pool and a nice restaurant. The room service food was fantastic. This Holiday is not new, but well maintained. It was clean, comfortable and convenient (just off 80) for an overnight stay while on our way cross country. We stayed at a Holiday Inn in Clarion, Pa. We specifically asked for a non-smoking room. When we were given the key card we were told not to smoke in the room, which of course we were not going to do since we do not smoke and asked for a non-smoking room. As soon as we opened the door to the room, it was clear that it smelled like smoke. We unpacked […] and I called the desk to complain. They did offer to more us to another room. Their explaination for the smoke smell was that the non-smoking room was between two smoking rooms and the smell must have seeped thru the walls which of course was rediculous.
