Crowne Plaza Washington National Airport

My younger son and I spent Thanksgiving holiday here at this hotel. We wanted to spend time with my son who is stationed at Fort Myer, Arlington VA. The staff was amazing and kind and pleasant and very informative of the area. We were completely comfortable and happy!

Unfortunately for the hotel, there is major construction right next to the building. Finding the hotel and then finding an drive that was not blocked was a challenge -- the staff did their best to deal with a bad situation. Stayed on the 4th floor and the free wireless internet access incredibly slow and spotty. Definitely would not stay here again for a business trip if I need to get work done.

The stay and the hotel was very nice. I prososed to my new fiance the night of the stay. I got her a limo and we were on our way to the hotel to find out that the building directly in front of the main entrance was under construction and did not look attractive at all. This is not the hotels fault in any way so please don't let this discourage you fron […] going. We couldn't find the entrance at all because of all the cones and one way signs make the street look closed. Just imagine trying to manouver a 14 passenger stretch limo through a narrow contruction zone!!! UGH!!! this makes the hotel look mighty ugly. Nice hotel, friendly staff, Starbucks on second floor, nice gym. Hard to get into due to construction, but once past that this is a nice stay. Airline crews there so obviously meets their criteria. Near all aspects of Crystal City and walking distance to Metro and nice restaurants.

Due to construction; a little hard to find entrance. Within walking distance to metro and dining establishments. Excellent access from airport and to I 395. Well known coffee shop located within the hotel. Downside is the daily parking fee. Great front desk staff; very knowledgeable about the area.

The room was very nice, spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable,lots of pillows! When we stayed there was construction going on in the building next to the hotel, so we woke to jack hammers and power tools. Other then that we enjoyed our stay.

When we arrived the AC was not working in the lobby and there was a strange odor. When we got to our room one of the beds were not made and appeared to have not had the sheets changed. It was however very to have access to their shuttle to get to and from the train station and to get us to and from restaurants that would have meant walkin a mile or […] so. The stay was great except for the unfriendly front desk staff. I think the staff are picky with who they treat well knowing that the hotel caters to high profile clients. I never saw a smile from any of the front desk staff when I asked questions or made me felt uncomfortable dealing with them. I will never stay on this hotel.

I thought the hotel was great, as it was comfortable, quiet, affordable, and convenient. - The only downside was that because the hotel's phones were having difficulty - they were not able to get a cab for me. I had to walk 5 blocks in extreme heat to a main thoroughfare to hail a cab.

Overall it was perfect for our needs. Clean, comfortable, convenient to Metro, shopping, dining...easy to access. I was a little disappointed that the photos made the room appear quite a bit more spacious that it was in reality, but as I was travelling with close friends, we didn't mind the close quarters.
