Everything is kept clean and comfortable, no issues there. However, if you need to go anywhere, their shuttle is always "booked," even though it doesn't actually ever leave the property so getting to the store could be an issue for you. The taxis are a good 20 minute wait each way so a quick trip to the store can take you 2 hours. The kitchen is really […] decent. The only issue is the pans they provide for you to cook with. They are NOT non-stick in ANY way. In fact, even boiling noodles will cause them to stick in layers to the pan. Forget cooking breakfast foods at all. It really is a significant challenge to use these pans, even to an amazing cook. The shuttle issue (major issue for me, and I hate being lied to) and the pans in the kitchen are my drawback. I have stayed there several times now and will probably go again because the rest is great. The beds are extremely comfortable with big plush pillows, plenty of towels, decent sofa, big TV, nice BIG kitchen, great price for what you get, and the rooms are very quiet. Read more

The staff was excellent! I think this hotel is more suited to go to in the summer rather than winter because everyone has an individual entrance on the outside in the elements. If you want your children to go make sure it is no more than one, unless you get the 2br 2 bath suite.

We have stayed at the Residence Inn Lombard every Christmas for the past 13 years. We live in Maryland but our families are in suburban Chicago. The Residence Inn is conveniently located for us to visit with family and friends in the area. Plus, the fireplace and kitchenette make for a cozy, homey stay. We'll be back next year.

The only problem that I had was house keeping did a half a** job. There was a pair of dirty sock a panties in the dresser draw under the tv. There was also some sort of stain on the sofa. For the price that I paid the room should have been spotless. I will give them another try though.

I arrived late evening to check in. Both me and my colleague were told the only thing we have left is handicapped equipped rooms. On the surface, this seems like it shouldn't be a big deal. I asked why they didn't have the room we reserved available and they said they had given all those away. I mentioned that our rooms were pre-paid so they should […] have held our reserved rooms. They said, "well, that's not the way it works". The bathroom was quite awkward. I can see how it would be excellent for someone with a disability but it was just awkward for me. On a more significant note, the building is wood frame and I could hear the fellow upstairs hoofing around late into the night. There is little/no sound isolation between floors. It reminded me of an old apartment I stayed in in college. No sense of privacy or peace. NOT a business travellers hotel. The breakfast was decent, probably the only redeeming quality. Read more

Overall, this property was a good value. Our main disappointment is that this property does not conform to the information shown on the website. Be aware that the room layout and photos ARE NOT INDICATIVE of this particular property - they are stock photos only. Travelers should also know that the pool is outdoor (not indoor as pictured on the property […] website), therefore closed during colder months. The room itself is in good shape but the room amenities (appliance, dishes, furniture) are dated. The heating system had trouble keeping the room warm regardless of the temperature setting on the thermostat, but that was our only complaint. Otherwise, we found the room to be clean and comfortable. Our housekeeper did a great job of tidying the room (she even ran the dishwasher for the few dishes we had dirtied). The free breakfast was very good, with a great selection of hot and cold items including eggs, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, sausage, waffles, breads, bagels, cereal, yogurt, etc. Once our initial disappointment faded, we had an enjoyable stay.
