Not bad!!!!, I booked the hotel before reading any reviews and then when I went through the reviews I thought I have made a mistake; however once I reached the hotel, I thought I was wrong, the hotel is not that bad as people say. I enjoyed my stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Bad hotel that is falling apart."
The hotel rooms are clean, but the hallways are dirty, there are candy wrappers in the elevators that no one seems to ever pick up. On our floor, the hallway rug had black skid marks of some sort, and at night a heavy smell of cigarette smoke coming from different rooms filled the hallway. Breakfast was served in a part of the hotel that used to be […] a bar, now a deserted bar, with poor lighting, and was not even properly heated: the large space had one space heater. Space heater? In a breakfast area? In a three star hotel? Even the breakfast coffee was burnt. 7/11 coffee is significantly more luxurious. The front desk staff was the only positive thing, who, while not always with a smile on their faces, still did appear eager to please. But that does not save the hotel from getting an F. My guess is that the hotel's 3 star rating was given a long, long time ago. This place is falling apart. Not returning again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Would not recommend"
Toilet did not flush, rub not clean, no real closet. Overall appearance not warm or welcoming. Breakfast was a joke, we went out.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to Hartford"
Our group stayed at the Ramada for a business trip and though the price was right and the location was convenient, I was disappointed in our rooms. We booked a deal online for King beds and was surprised that we had double beds. The cleanliness was less to be desired. But, the location did make up for it slightly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Oops. EAST Hartford."
Perhaps there is a convention center in E H, too because this Ramada was NOT 2.8 miles from the one in Hartford, as indicated by Hotels.com. That was awkward. But THIS was recently remodeled, at least the rooms... The common areas were run down and the elevator hadn't seen a vacuum in a while. I traversed 3 waves of sketchy odors on the way to check-in. […] But the room was spotless if you don't count rust spots or permanent carpentry lines used to cut out the sink from the marble. Highway traffic was loud, but kind of nice white noise. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, regular folk, not so gussied as the ones as at the Ramada Plaza I accidentally visited in Hartford. No weird AM lobby smells, and the whole place looked better in the morning. That's certainly better than the reverse. I would recommend it to a friend on a budget with a car. But don't think you can walk to the Conn Conv Center like Hotels.com says. It's highway 84. Not the nice little Hartford downtown. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Had a problem with the second floor smelling lime cigarette smoke, but we were put in a different room and floor immediately. Location was just what we wanted and staff was very helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Run-down hotel/surly staff"
Not impressed at all-Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"This place is just fine"
It's not the Four Seasons but there's not a single thing wrong with it. The rooms were fine, the staff was fine, the amenities were fine, and everything was clean and worked. For the money, you just can't beat this hotel. I was there for the UCONN football game and you can walk to the stadium in 10 minutes.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Ok in a pinch"
It looks like they have started to renovate some areas of the hotel - rooms and lobby but those areas not touched are less than pleasing. Carpets in hallways are hideous as is the carpet in the bar/breakfast area. The bar/breakfast area by far is the worst part of the facility. Space heaters are placed around the room but room is still cold. The walls […] definitely some new paint and the ugly carpet needs replaced. SIgns stating "Pardon our appearance while we improve for our guests" would be helpful if indeed that were true. For the continental breakfast, your hot choices of bacon or cold, rancid pancakes would be the fare. Other items include bagels, muffins, english muffins and cereal. Those selections are fine but the toaster for the bagels, etc. would not work properly. The supply of cereal sat on floor adjacent to the buffet table. An attendant to clean up buffet area, tables would be helpful. It seemed that guests needed to request everything - nothing was done in anticipation of needs, just as a reaction. "Not worth the money at all"
I think someone needs to thoroughly clean this place. The rug in the elevator was filthy and it smelled like cigarettes. Got stuck on the thing too. Wall paper was all lumpy and off in places, the toilet was not bolted to the floor. Somebodies hair (not mine) was in the bath tub. They made sure to tell me about breakfast the next morning. "Breakfast" […] was cereal, a waffle machine some danish, fruit (not cut up or peeled) and activia. Very poor value for the money although I had a good time with me friends. "Modest Price But Not Worth IT!"
Carpets in elevators and halls were unvacuumed and dirty. The closing mechanism on the door to our room was broken and hanging down so it had to be lifted out of the way to close the door. Common areas were drab and uninteresting and looked too well worn. One of the vending machine near the lobby was broken and the staff didn't seem to know which was […] broken or care to do anything about it (Cashier - "Oh, yeah, one of the guests told us a machine was broken, but I don't know which one. You can always use the ones on the next floor!"). The parking lot was crumbling and had large cracks and bumps. Breakfast service started at 6:00 and the cleaning staff picked 7:00 as the right time to wash the hall floors between the elevator lobby and the breakfast area. This place was way past its prime and no one seemed to care. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"There are better choices for the money."
The staff was quite nice, friendly, and responsive. The location was good and I enjoyed the free parking. The hotel was NOT recently renovated as listed. The first room I looked at, the wood veneers had been ripped off the front of the bureau and desk. The second room, which I stayed in, had black mold on the ceiling. The room AC never quite got cold […] enough to take any humidity out of the air. The glue on the bath mat was coming off and actually was floating in the bath tub. The bar closed at 11pm. The breakfast area was quite unbecoming, like the breakfast. I would recommend skipping the breakfast and going to Anna's on Silver Lane. The computer for business travelers was located in the front lobby and the entire front of the hardrive was off and laying on the floor, not attached. It is literally off the exit, so if you get a room with an odd last number, (1,3, 5, 7, 9) you will not be able to sleep due to heavy truck traffic on 84. This hotel is old and run down. The staff is doing the best with what they have to work with. I would recommend the Hampton Inn or nearby Extended Stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I am impressed , i vowed never to use Ramada again after my experience in Fort Laudale it was my worst hotel experience ever. But this experience gave Ramada a second charge.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Dog barked in the room across from us all night. No fan in the bathroom. Small pillows. We had a no smoking room but the entire place smells like a cigarette.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel was very run-down. Pool was disgusting. And with 2 small children made for a difficult time. Indoor pool was a major factor in choosing hotel. Restaurant was disgusting. Would not recommend to anyone.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"This hotel is ok for one night stay"
The one area that does need some attention are the elevators, especially the left one. We were not sure if the door would ever open. It kept trying but finally had to push the door open button to get out.Genuine Expedia guest review
This hotel is the creepiest place I have stayed in. I have been to several hotels in this area due to business for the last 3 months and I have never seen anything like this hotel. The hotel is completely falling apart. The carpets have massive stains (like bleach or something) the floors need new paint and/or wallpaper. The pool area is old and out […] dated. The breakfast in the morning was okay but the milk that they left out was gray and currdled. I am a smoker and requested a smoking room which was horrid. The smell was something terrible and I am a smoker. The toilet made this loud grumbling noise every time I flushed it and the showerhead was rusted. The wall paper had nasty looking stains dripping down the walls. The entire floor smelled so bad of drugs that I think I got high just walking to my room and the woman paying for tricks next door was just the icing on the cake. I will never stay here again. "Convenient but needs a face lift"
The hotel staff was courteous and professional. The room was clean but needed repairs and maintenance. The hotel itself needs a bit of investment for updating and general repairs. Some items were in disrepair. The continental breakfast was very limited.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel cleanliness was ver good. Pool was fixed during our stay and that is one of the reasons we picked this hotel. Personal overall was very good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"good location not far from downtown but far enough"
only stayed two nights, clean comfortable room. Staff was friendly. continental breakfast had a lot of choices. Resturant and bar attached to lobby, no need to drive if you want a quick meal and a drink before bed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"not enough supplies"
The only huge disappointment was that there was only 1 set of towels in the room for the two us to use. I went to the desk to ask for a second set only to be told they were completely out of towels! which I thought was very unclean.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good for budget-minded traveler/short stay"
The hotel appears to be a mid-renovation state. The common areas were in great need of routine maintenance and cleaning, but my hotel room was very nice - clean, with up-updated furnishings and linens. The complimentary breakfast was ok, but it was served in a room that needed maintenance so that detracted. "Solid Three Star"
A solid three star hotel. We've stayed many times over the years, including when a Holiday Inn. This year's room had been one which was renovated, including the bath. "Pool Out of Service?"
I had made a reservation with my son on the way to an event, knowing he would enjoy a place with a pool. Come to find out the pool was out of service. Who services a pool in the middle of the summer? I was very very disappointed and if I had known that, I would have booked elsewhere.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The pool was closed and that wasn't told when I called to confirm my reservation. When I got there and I checked in and told the staff my kids couldn't wait to swim he still didn't inform me that the pool was closed. "Don't stay here"
I would have given this hotel higher marks but 1) it was really run down and grungy. For example there was threadbare carpet everywhere - the lobby, the elevator, the hallways, the bar and my room. 2) The internet was not high speed as advertised - could not do streaming video. 3) Most importantly, my room smelled really, really musty. So much so when […] I got home the next day my wife could notice the smell on me. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"very disappointing Ramada"
I booked this room because I needed a place to watch the NBA final (go OKC) here is what I got in addition to the television, the carpets in the hall were old and not clean, odor of smoke coming from a non smoking floor, the furniture in the room looked as if it was bought second hand, there was an ugly stain on the floor of the shower.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Rooms nice, outside needs help."
Outside of the hotel looks run down, but the room themselves are updated and nice. The gym leaves a lot to be desires with no TV. But I would stay there again without hesitation.Genuine Expedia guest review
Searched for a hotel with a pool. It was closed for unknown reasons and the check-in person only said "it's been closed for months." He didn't even apologize. The room didn't have the amenity of purchasing a movie.Genuine Expedia guest review
there were missing ceiling tiles in the hallway. The room was missing hanging pictures from the wall witht he hooks still in the wall. Air conditioner was loud. The continental breakfast was a joke. "A great night of sleep"
The hotel gives a sense of being old, but the comfortable bed -- and pillow! -- provides a wonderful night of sleep.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The lobby and halls smelled like an ash tray. the rooms were small, the ice machine was broken and had been (judging from the mold , dirt and missing parts) for a long time. we were on the top floor and the ceiling of our room had water and mold stains. Never again at RamadaGenuine Expedia guest review
Bathroom could use some repair: broken toilet, water stained walls, cracks in shower. Breakfast was unappetizing, to say the least. Decided against having it. For a quick overnight, this hotel is fine, but anything over 1 night, I'd look elsewhere.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I found it pleasant. They had live entertainment and a continental breakfast which was a pleasant surprise.Genuine Expedia guest review
Breakfast was a weak affair at best. There was no fruit and it had nothing but food that you cannot eat unless you have no allergies. This repast could be vastly improved by a plate of fresh fruit and an offering of soy or rice milk.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great price, amenities and friendly concierge"
The room was clean and neat. Good, comfortable mattress and pillows. A fridge and microwave (yaay!) Plenty of fresh towels. The location is convenient, but backs up to the highway. Being unused to the noise of the passing autos, I used earplugs during my sleep. The hallway to my room looked a little forlorn; it could use a carpet cleaning and a fresh […] coat of paint. Of course, the most important thing is the room, and I give it high marks. I will stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Horrible place to stayggh"
First off finding this place is difficult......it's a raddison Hotel that has Holiday Inn written on its signage. I stayed because it was one of 3 that had space. Expedia stated it was 8 miles from my work location. It was 22. The hotel was filthy, and my room furniture had white clumpy crud all over it. Rugs were torn and the elevator was cosmetically […] torn apart. WiFi was good and the sheets were clean. Hot water was non existent and the tub wouldn't drain properly. I took a shower with water building up to my ankles. It was over priced because they could get away with it due to limited space in the area. The location seemed ok, I was not concerned for my safety, but I did see questionable people roaming around the lobby from the bar. I was very disappointed but dealt with it because I had to. I arrived at 3:30pm I was not given a room until after 5pm! After two flights I was def exhausted so I was very disappointed. "SHABBY - check back in a year."
First off, I could not find the hotel because there's NO sign! After turning around, I notice that they took the former Holiday Inn sign and turned it backwards in the sign holder and in little words below it said "Welcome to the Ramada Inn". That was my first tip off that this was not going to be good. Inside, the shabbiness showed everywhere. Ratty, […] dated carpets with gum stuck on it in the elevators. Disco carpeting in the halls. I think if they just changed the carpet, it'd make a huge improvement. Then it would not be not so bad and could become a decent basic hotel. But I am shocked that it was allowed to be part of the Ramada franchise in this condition. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Only the facade has been redone"
I picked it because of the pool and continental breakfast. When I saw the pool, there was no way I was going, and the continental breakfast was coffee and mini muffins in the lobby.
