Quality of service is not very good at all. The front desk is always busy and never picks up the phone or never bother to even look and ask whether we want anything or not. We are not sure whether our accommodation included breakfast or not. There is no proper explanation of this by the front desk. Thehouse keeping are all over the place and keep knocking the door or opening the door with their master key even though we are there and even though the checkout time is 12.00 noon. All in all, I will be happy to go to a smaller hotel and be treated like a customer rather than wait in long queues for getting a serve, that too after paying a fortune for the stay. Not at all impressed...

The hotel itself is great for the price you pay, the service and room condition is great. The neighborhood is not great, it's dirty and crowded, no way to get anyting out of the surrounding restaurants and businesses. The parking is conveniently located across the street but you have to pay everytime you get in and out, makes it an expensive parking fee overall, it would be a good idea if hotel guests can just pay a flat rate per day instead, the cost of the parking makes up for the relatively lower hotel rate.

On check-in, I was given a non-king room (I had reserved a King bed). The whole floor smelled like stale smoke, even though it was "non-smoking", the toilet had been used (and not flushed), there were no amenities, except for the already used soap on the sink. One of the towels had already been used, and there was something resembling a large hot-chocolate stain on the window shade. The bed even looked like someone had slept on it (without sleeping in it). When I lifted up the phone to call management, the phone didn't work. I got the worst room in the building, I'm sure of it. With that said, once i told management about the condition of my room on check-in, they were very responsive. I had a much nicer room the next day, with a great view and they gave me free breakfast for the remainder of my stay to make up for my the inconvenience. The rate for the hotel was good, but the parking is a bit expensive ($40/night). The location was good, close to China Town and North Beach.

I was amazed with the price I got for this hotel on a holiday. As expected, the service was outstanding. Close proximity to the financial district and China town provided excellent opportunity for visiting various interesting sites by foot without even taking the car out of garage. Before booking the hotel I learned that the hotel parking costs around $47 a day. I parked a block away and paid only $24 for each 24 hours.

The hotel was nice for the price I paid. The room was comfortable and the bed was especially comfortable. It wasn't so much a romantic type hotel, no spa or pool, very small bathtub with a stopper that didn't work, and a pretty terrible veiw out of the window so if you, like most of the occupants, are on business or on a flight lay-over it is a nice, pleasant, quick stay. It's within walking distance of North Beach and Chinatown. If you are trying to have a romantic weekend, I would probably choose something nicer in a different area.

It could have been bad luck on their part but I didn't have a good experience here. When I checked in around 8 they told me that they didn't have any rooms because a bunch of guests had been granted late checkouts. They told me they could either give me a smoking room in an hour or a non-smoking room in 3 hours. The manager told me she would call when the room was ready, but she never did. So I ended up in a smoking room despite waiting the 3 hours. Maybe this is unavoidable if you run such a huge hotel, but I feel that a reservation means that you should get a room if you check in at a reasonable time. The manager offered me some free drinks and breakfasts but couldn't adjust the rate.

I could not be sure if every room on every floor has such a spectacular view, so I suggest taking a room on a higher floor. The room itself was not too special. It's clean enough, but nothing unique. But as I said, you can't beat the view. The hotel parking is not cheep. About $20 for self parking and about $35 for valet parking. I did not use the hotel parking so I don't remember the exact price for the parking.
