"Pretty good, but not great for the price"
I stayed here for a night during the weekday, pretty quiet. First the pros: Professional Staff Clean room 10mbps FAST wifi (fastest i've ever had in a hotel) and its FREE Cons: Thicker drapes can't be closed, so you can't turn your room into a "cave" to sleep in, the sun comes right in Shower water pressure was almost just a drip, I have low pressure […] at my home and its still better than this TV Channels - very little selection, but maybe thats the norm (comedy central, hbo were nice but no bravo or tbs at least) TV Channels - Listed as HD but It was just low res stretched out over a widescreen tv, I'm still amazed hotels do this, listing HD but really not, why bother? Cafe has NO free breakfast, if you want the usual plate of food its about $13 bucks for eggs and bacon etc. So overall for the price, I would have at least liked a free continental breakfast or maybe some thick blinds to put over the windows for the morning sun. There are ALOT of hotels around the Novato/San Rafael area, so if you told me I had to book again next week, I'd probably try another 3 star hotel just to see if the experience got any better. Old and outdated hotel - not at all worth the money. Pictures on website are deceiving. Service is also poor. Called for room service and was told that they were too busy and "you will have to come down and get it yourself". Management didn't follow up with us when we complained about the incident. The hotel needs a thorough refurnishing.The wifi recharger didn't work. There was a space where a chair was clearly meant to be. The room was in a good location, quiet leafy view. "Great location, a little disappointed in the room"
We stayed here a few years ago and we had a great stay! The beds were comfy and the rooms seemed really nice. Maybe it was that the beds were new and/or our standards were lower, or just the particular room we had was lackluster. We were a bit disappointed this time. The Bad: Our bed was well worn and had a ridge in the middle (from people sleeping […] on one side or the other). The floor of the room was uneven. The bathroom was tiny with a really low ceiling. The Good: Awesome customer service from the moment we arrived. We were even upgraded to a larger room (one of the ones with a doorbell) and were given a 4pm check-out! The rest of the hotel is pretty nice. The location is super convenient to everything in Marin. We hope that the beds will get an upgrade soon! We would like to come back again! Excellent hotel just north of San Francisco. San Francisco can be reached via highway (plenty of traffic) or via Ferry at nearby terminal (recommended). "needs up keep"
Room was clean but was in need of some serious repairs. Window was broken and glass ready to fall out, ac/heater falling apart and once I figures out that the controls were on other side of room and turned heater on I could not get it to shut off, instead the ac would turn on. Finally had to unplug unit to get it to shut off. Had no washcloths in room. […] Also had serious hard water build up on shower head and some mold in shower soap holder. Room was very small. Normally stay here a couple times a year but have not stayed here since last year and have never had a problem.. What happened? A one-night stay. Comfortable room, my only complaint would be the older style shower fixtures which didn't allow for water flow/spray adjustments. As a daily distance commuter, I chose to stay here overnite for work related reasons and bad weather. I participated in an event that ended late in the evening, and had an early morning meeting the following day. I thought it would be better to be rested and on time for the morning meeting rather than drive almost 2.5 hours home in congested traffic, […] heavy rain, and thunderstorms. The climate control set up in the room worked, but it was inefficient and noisy throughout the nite. I was informed that all of the rooms were set up in the same manner. This was the older manual fan/heater/swamp cooler re-wired somehow to a wall thermostat. It took all night for the room to warm up a few degrees, and the fan/blower was very noisy throughout the nite--it did not shut off. The in-room upholstery could use a good shampoo, in-room utilities could use an upgrade, cracked tiles and missing fixtures could be replaced, and perhaps attention could be given to the bathroom tile floors in need of cleaning. The very worn desk chair did not have an adjustable height, the seating had poor or no padding, and it was not an ergonomic chair. The staff were polite, courteous, and attentive. "Quiet room #370 on third floor for four nights"

Hotel is nice and in good condition. 2 negatives comments. When making my reservation, there was a place to request special needs. Since fridge and micro weren't a given in each room, I asked for that on the form. When checking in, I asked again for that and for a quiet room. Once we wanted to spend one night of our honeymoon near San Francisco, and from the pics online this hotel seemed perfect. We arrived late at night, and since there was essentially no signage on the main road we passed it twice. I called to ask for directions or landmarks and the girl at the front desk couldnt even manage to tell me which gas station […] it was next to...there are about 4 in the immediate area. And whem I asked if she could be a little more specific she said "its next to a gas station, other than that I dont know what to tell you." Once we finally arrived, the same girl directed us to the wrong side of the hotel so it took forever to find our room. (There was a much more direct route). The room itself was pretty sad....very dated, dingy, not well maintained. ..pretty much the opposite of the advertised pictures. I also paid for a king room and got a double queen. However, much to my surprise, I was told by the front desk that since I had booked on a third-party reservation (Hotels.com) that I was not eligible for the complimentary breakfast. Evidently only for full-price guests. Of course, I could select (and pay!) from the regular menu if I so chose. "Very noisy but decent looking rooms."
When we first came in the hotel staff was friendly enough, but fairly easily distracted. The young lady who helped us after we got our room keys the room was enough to find, we were on the top floor, but the elevator ride was a little rickety feeling. When we got to the room it looked clean but had an overwhelming feeling of grimyness. We tried to open […] the window to get some fresh air but it would only open about two inches! Then it stil wasn't open, because on the other side of it where I would expect a screen there was another pane of glass! Seriously?..... Anyway the bed was comfy....kinda..... We put out our door hanger for breakfast room service (18% gratuity !) and in the morning it arrived on time thankfully, but nearly everything was burnt. Except the eggs....and the "toast" that had looked like it was in the toaster for a few seconds, it was barely brown on even one end, the rest was still normal bread color! The hotel is aging and needs remodeling. We were sent to the back part of the hotel. The halls smelled of smoke and were shabby. We were asked to use the back entrance which in daylight was ok, but we returned to the hotel quite late and opted to use the front entrance. "Convenience to our destination"
Stayed 2 days then went to another destination, then came back for 4 days within a week. The second stay was not a good experience we assumed the Sheraton to be. Our coffee packs were never replaced, no plastic glasses replaced, our bed was never made even up to standard. (sheets never tucked in, mattress pad never straightened, spread just pulled up) […] On our second stay our room was very close to the staff entrance and they obviously have never been trained to have the customers comfort in mind. At all times of the day and night the door was constantly slamming and loud voices were heard. On returning to our room late in the day (about 5:00) we found our room door wide open, propped with a cleaning bucket, the cleaning cart by the door and NO maid in sight! "Overcharged me $400"
when you are a Hotels.com customer, you've paid for your room. You put your credit card down for incidentals, and hope that you never have any problems doing so. In short, you hope that what I am writing about here, never happens to you. I have been billed, without the benefit of even a phone call to me, over $400 on a room I never stayed in. My good […] friend stayed there, and says that the Four point's claim of $400+ damages for" two alledgedly destroyed end table lamps" is entirely unfounded. My friend and I do a lot of business with each other and this is the first time there's ever been a problem. We always trust what the other says. And Sheraton, meanwhile, cannot produce any photos of the destroyed property, as requested, and defers me from one department to another. They need to understand that the public sees them as being paid based on commission having to do with the ability of them to create sales for the company. Could this have evolved to become any way whatsoever they can increase their bottom line for the company such as taking advantage of customers not on site and making false claims?
