My overall stay was great. After reading several of the reviews before I booked the hotel, I was somewhat hesitant because of the not so good reviews. (Especially about the noise levels and construction going on). I'm so glad I went ahead and booked my stay there. All renovations were complete and the staff was very friendly. I even asked if perhaps […] there were any groups staying there at the same time that I was that might be a little louder than normal and I found out that there was a group of high schoolers staying nearby my room. Bonnie was super helpful in accommodating my request in changing my room where the high schoolers were not nearby. :) The hotel was close to everything (even Starbucks across the street!) and far enough on the riverwalk that I didn’t experience a lot of noise. (on the riverwalk or in the room next to mine). The only thing I think would be helpful would be to have a shuttle from the airport. Would definitely stay there again! Read more

This hotel was excellent upon arrival we were greeted by friendly front desk very helpful when we asked about attractions in the area and what they recommended.The room was nice very updated had the smell of fresh paint. We had a riverwalk view which was nice as well all in all I would highly recommend this hotel!!!!!

Hotel in proximity to all the fun activities happening in the river walk area. Safe to walk at night. Downside was that their was not enough parking in the hotel. Had to park our vehicle down the street in parking garage. Guess due to construction happening in the hotel. Otherwise, all was good.

What a mess!! Construction which we were not informed about before booking. Then there was no hot water and they never showed up to check it out after called. $20 fee to park my car. I gave the maint,and cont. a low score as they are remodeling and you had to go thru corredores of plastic and bare drywall to get to the outside, but all in all it was vary nice...had a great view of the city...19th floor....will go back.

Holiday Inn on the riverwalk used to be so nice. They had balconies overlooking the river and it was great. They are rentivating, took away all the balconies and the place is a horrible smelly construction zone. The whole place smelled like paint and glue, there were workers everywhere, everything is covered with a chalky dust. The new look is very lovely and striking at the same time. Our only problem was a young lady one floor over us wearing heels on the hardwood floor at 1:00 am. It was hard to sleep.

Hotel was under major construction, smell of paint and dust was terrible. No elevators on parking levels, had to carry luggage up stairs. Locked out of elevator from riverwalk by construction at night. Awakened by pounding everyday. Room was very nice just getting to it was a pain. Great location

Really nice remodeled rooms. Very modern & clean. However., smoke alarm was beeping so they took battery out & it smelled like cigs. They said no rooms available (which i think wasn't true) & sprayed deodorant. Location was great but a bit scary past midnight bc too many ppl hanging out in.the streets who were obviously not visiting the river walk. […] Walked past midnight 3 nights & nothing happened. Place is under construction. It is noisy and messy. They also charge you 20 bucks to park and drag ur bags downstairs because the garage elevator is broken. This hotel ruined our trip.

I stay at the Holiday Inn River walk every May for TDA convention with my staff, has always been very nice!!! This visit was for fun. Great location, however bathrooms should be cleaned after every guest (!). Building also in renovation, lots of (loud) construction going on. Otherwise a good price for staying downtown near Riverwalk.

My family (husband, 11 yr old, 13 yr old and myself) went to SA for a few days. The hotel is under renovation, but worked out great. The location is pretty close to restaurants and the Alamo. I did not want to spend a lot per night since this was a last minute getaway, so the Holiday Inn was perfect. It was very reasonable.

Its very close to Riverwalk. We could see Riverwalk from our room but we were not allowed to open the balcony because the hotel was under renovation. We would love to come back to the same hotel after the renovation is completed. This hotel is located in the best place in Downtown, so most of the restaurants, amusement parks and site seeing places (Alamo, […] Riverwalk, Mercado etc) are accessible even by walk! You dont have to take out your car! In our package, Parking and Breakfast(optional) were not free, but Wifi Internet was free. It is not a deal-breaker since the Hotel is located at an awesome place in Downtown! The total cost (including parking, breakfast) was Decent!. Management staff and room service personnel were very helpful. They have a large multi-level parking space. Read more

Under construction! Unfortunately, these words were not posted anywhere when I booked our reservation at the Holiday Inn Riverwalk. Upon checking in, we were surprised with an additional parking fee per night. Then we had to walk through a construction tunnel to get to the elevators, which were not clearly marked, so we had to play detective and figure […] out what floor to go to in order to find the lobby. When we got to the check in counter, they told us that construction hours were from 9am - 6pm, which meant no sleeping in for us. When we got to our room, it was not what I expected for the price we paid. There were holes in the ceiling, the balcony doors were bolted shut because of the construction, and we even found a hair from down there on our bedding! The construction they were referring to was right above our room! We had to leave the hotel to get away from all of the noises. All in all, we were extremely dissatisfied with our stay at the Holiday Inn Riverwalk! Pay a few extra dollars and stay at the Hyatt! Read more

When you book a room you call to make sure you can exit the hotel to get on the riverwalk they say yes then when you get there they say no sorry they are under construction and the staff is rude. Room was nice. But when you get to your hotel after a long day of travel and activities you really do not want to hear drills, hammers, and fire alarms. I understand the need to remodel but Saturday afternoon is not an ideal time. Would've been nice to be informed of this before reserving the room.

The reservation staff and management was extremely rude and unaccommodating initially. The room had a very strong paint odor which was a considerable health concern for our young child. Hotel was great, great walking distance to the river walk. Took only about 3 min to get to the river walk. Starbucks across the street. Only bad thing is hotel under construction, workers stop working around 6:00 pm. The state working around 10:00. Carpet in the room is dirty. I traveled with two boys and their socks were dirty as hell.
