"One of the only two hotels in town"
When you are in Kayenta, you don't have much choices. There are only two hotels in town, with the highest prices compare to the other 4 nights I stayed in the same trip. The reception doesn't look friendly, but ok.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Kayenta Monument Valley Inn We do apologize for the inconvenience we may have cause during your stay. And thank you for bring to our attention about our customer service skills. We will definitely bring that up to par. On your next trip call the hotel directly and being a returning guest we will offer the next lowest rate available. Thank you for staying with us
Most expensive hotel, with no breakfast included. This was disappointing. I would choose a hotel more carefully next time I visit monument valley.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to attractions."
The hotel is very pleasant. Staff was very helpful. Really great location for Monument Valley, very short drive to visitors center, main entrance, etc. Would definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice people and NICE place."
It is a nice clean convenient place to stay. Close to Monument Valley and A pleasant drive to Canyon De Chelly National Monument. The restaurant that is with it is excellent (if you don't have the Navaho Fry bread, you will have cheated yourself) The Staff is helpful, cheerful and friendly… It is a tad on the spendy side but considering the other places […] in the area it is a good deal. I will defiantly stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Kayenta Monument Valley Inn We thank you for choosing our hotel as your home away from home.
"never stay again"
Price and quality is unbalance! I thought there are only 2 Hotels. Both hotel are expensive....Also, reception staffs are all Not good enough. No smile and not helpful. WIFI was not easy to connected. Guest must go to reception to use WIFI. It was very Cold outside, very inconvinience. I will not stay this hotel again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Old Style Hotel"
The hotel is one of the view near Monument Valley. Old Style, but good maintained. Room are clean. The rate was as expected. The hotel includes a restaurant with a good kitchen.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Disappointed in hotel"
I knew that other places were rated higher but they were all filled so we went with the Kayenta Monument Valley Inn. It was just for two nights and we would not be there very much so we stayed there. The room was clean-I will say that. The bathroom had some mold and in one place the wallpaper was peeling away. The biggest problem for me was that the […] door had no deadbolt lock. There was nothing in the area where the dead bolt should have been. It did have one of those hooks that you could pull over and secure the door but that is really not terribly secure. Second problem was that we were downstairs and we could hear the people walking around above us. They walked a lot. The ceiling squeaked every time they walked anywhere. Every step mean a squeak. We could hear the murmur of their conversations which was kind of creepy.Third-there was NO water pressure in the shower. It was merely a trickle of water-that is all. Fourth-people checked in late and talked loudly right outside our door. I think they were riding a luggage carrier at one time. Fifth-the ability to find a place to eat was difficult. There is a restaurant at the hotel but the reviews were so bad that we looked elsewhere. It didn't look welcoming at all. The second night we ate at Monument Valley before we came back to the room. I would rearrange my trip in order to avoid staying here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
It's the price to pay if one doesn't want to drive long distances.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Our stay was average. Nothing to write home about. We were so disappointed with the restaurant on the premises. Not much variety in the menu and the food was just average.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to Monument Valley attraction"
If we ever visit this area again, I will definitely stay here. The restaurant & the food was Outstanding. Plenty to choose from, to include a good Buffet. Room was comfortable, beds were fine and the stay was the Best. Not a lot to pick from in the area as far as food places, other motels etc, but we had the best here. Highly recommend.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Monument Valley nearby"
Acceptable, but breakfast, however slight, would have been an advantageGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Stay overnight for travel other places"
There was no refrigator in the room with this price. We stayed at some other places which were less expensive and they have refrigator and provide free breakfast. Internet was slow.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very convenient for our travel and very clean."
Dining facility was on premises and the menu was very acceptable. Because of the motel being on Indian reservation property no alcoholic beverages were available.Genuine Expedia guest review
The facility was one of the best on the trip, clean, comfortable, a nice experience. We would certainly stay again. Our only complaint would be that we were placed in the annex in the back. We are 4 over 70, one 83 and we were on the 2nd floor with no elevator, not good.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Monument Valley ahoy!"
The hotel was great and the staff were super friendly! Breakfast isn't included in the price of the room but I definitely recommend the blue corn pancakes in the morning instead of the buffet!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
People who showed up just before us and didn't, have a reservation were given a much better rate. I resent that we were charged so much more for booking in advance .Genuine Expedia guest review
"Too expensive for what we had"
The price is very expensive for the room we got. Moreover, breakfast was not included and the room was cold (A/C not operational). We went there because it was the last available room in Kayenta and now I understand why...Genuine Expedia guest review
"Old and no effort to keep up"
The motel is old, with little done in the way of maintenance to make it better. When I drove in, I thought I must have been mistaken, as it looked shabby compared to the few other motels in town. When I opened the room, I thought I had just stayed in another small town in the area with a brand new motel, with great accomodations. This room had nothing, […] no refrigerator, no microwave, no directory of local businesses or indication of the motel's services. Then I later hit the bathroom. There was no soap. Only shampoo and body lotion. When I went to use the shower, the tub spout nearly fell off in my hand. The sink's faucets were clearly marked hot and cold, but after about 20 seconds warm water began coming out of the faucet when I had turned the cold faucet on. For what I paid for this room, it should have been considerably better than this. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Visiting Monument Valley"
Arrived early afternoon. Very easy registration. Room was great. Staff was extremeley friendly and helpful. Diningroom looked beautiful and would have had dinner there, except there were no Navajo Indian meals on the menu. Otherwise thisis the only place to stay in town.Genuine Expedia guest review
"“Mixed Emotions ***"
We stayed here for 1 night on 10/6/2013 and we have mixed emotions about this place. Let's start with the PROS : - Clean, decent rooms (our room was in the back building facing the mountains) - Free wifi, but not very good signal. - Good location if you're going to Monument Valley, which is about 25 miles from the hotel - Close to center of town, gasoline […] station and fast-food CONS: - Expensive, after taxes we paid almost $190 for 1 night - No free breakfast - FRONT DESK STAFF. I'm not sure if they need more training for "customer service" or they're just really not friendly. We came at around 11 am and was told by the front desk that we cannot check in until 3 PM. That is ok, but she was NOT very sympathetic about the situation. I felt she was even short with us. So we decided to visit Monument Valley and came back at 4PM to check in. Unfortunately, their server was down and lots of guests, including us waited for about an hour or so. While waiting and even after the server was fixed, none of the staff was apologetic or showed any concern for all the guests. I can't explain what it is but this hotel and Kayenta, AZ (re: stray dogs issue) has left me a bad impression. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great Monument Valley Location"
Everything was good except we had downstairs neighbors who liked to hear themselves talk, unfortunately we could hear them tooGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Our stay was okay. There was nothing else to do in Kayenta once we had visited Monument Valley. The valley was fabulous although some road maintinace would have been appreciated. I was unable to get information about the tours and options available in the valley from the hotel desk clerk.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Look at the map...not too bad."
Anyone complaining about this place..."nothing to do," etc...just look at the map. You're not in Kansas anymore (and glad for that). A bit expensive; but considering the price of the other Kayenta and Tuba City accommodations, on the Navajo Nation, not bad. Clean room...relatively quiet...incredible sunsets, overlooking the edge of Monument Valley. […] Enjoy the experience of just being there. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice Hotel close to Monument Valley"
Overall a very nice establishment with a couple of small maintenance issuesGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel in good location"
Comfortable clean room, with restaurant at hotel. Convenient to Monument Valley.Genuine Expedia guest review
"OK for Monument Valley"
Expensive for basic motel 1/2 hour from Monument Valley. But ok considering cost of closer motels. Room was clean, restaurant acceptable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Older hotel with excessive prices. No refrig. or microwave, shabby room, bathroom ceiling in disrepair. Bare bone room with more than twice the cost of other hotels we stayed at in our trip to the Four Corners.Genuine Expedia guest review
From check in to check out my one night stay at this hotel was a very negative experience . I strongly suggest that you book a different hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Good accommodations , close to monument valley, good tours, friendly staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"close to Monument Valley national Park"

"Premium location premium price"
Too expensive, you pay a premium price becausey the proximity of monument valley. And in addition bad food again for a premium price Rooms just basicGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"don't expect too much from it"
We like to visit the monument which is very awesome. but stay overnight at that area does not have much choice. we paid almost $200/night, but we did not feel any difference from the $100/night lodge in other city. we just paid the convenience to the monument.Genuine Expedia guest review
"This was advertised as a deluxe room - NOT!!"
Older hotel badly in need of updating. The exorbitant price reflects only the location and not the quality of the room. This room was barely worth $100 and we paid several times that.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Too much $$ for what you get"
I was surprised to discover that all the rooms were accessed from outside. If I'd wanted a drive in motel I would've booked one. This was ridiculously expensive to listen to traffic noise all night.Genuine Expedia guest review
"NEVER STAY HERE."
avoid this hotel and the area. rooms are old. they tried to update the bathroom, but it's lipstick on a pig. the staff doesnt know anything. the wi=fi is free because their is no wi-fi. they said you must come down to the lobby to get it. well guess what, it doesnt work there either. the restaurant though it looks charming, it HORRIBLE both my dinner […] and my husband's dinner were awful. the area is desolete and there is no restaurant for miles. the best food is mcdonalds and that's a sin. this place has potential, but it is completely void of everything. staff, service, food and location, all losers. We arrived during a cold wet rain with the temperature bout 65 degrees outside. The room was ice cold so I went to the controls and raised the setting to 75. No resulting heat so I called the front desk and reported the problem. I was told that since it was still summer the heat was turned off and only air conditioning was working. This was funny because […] the restaurant was on winter hours. This was the only time in my life that I had to wear my warrm coat to keep warm in a hotel room and to be really warm, I had to get into bed. This was completely uncalled for and and the staff's attitude was who cares if you are cold. Advoid this hotel whose staff does not care about your confort. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Only hotel available"
There are only 2 hotels in town. This is the only one that was available. Price was way to much, but what could I do.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Door was hard to open, room was noisy - could hear other guests next door and outside.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Navajo run hotel very nicely managed and decorated"
Very nice hotel. The staff were very helpful and informative. The only negative was the computer in the lobby - REPLACE THAT ANCIENT AND PAINFULLY SLOW COMPUTER. The exercise room, pool, restaurant, and gift shop were very accessible. If you're looking for a drink - NOT HERE as they do not serve alcohol. AGAIN replace that computer. The fact that it […] was painfully slow and intermittently shut off was a huge drawback for me. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Gateway to Monument Valley"
This hotel is a great spot for an overnight stay before or after seeing Monument Valley or for several nights for a person/family wanting to explore for longer. "Beautiful but lacking in amenities."
The room was beautiful and very comfortable. BUT at the prices charged I would like to see a small refrigerator in each room. A microwave would be optional. Also there should be a credit toward breakfast. Cheaper hotels offer those amenities.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Understaffed/Slow Check-in. Surly and unapologetic service. Beds very uncomfortable. No mini-bar. Way overpriced for what it is. Taking advantage of the near monopoly in Kayenta.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The internet was very poor. Never could connect needs improvement here for those that depend on the internet. Other than that all was satisfactory. Room was clean, location was good. Would stay here againGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Avoid this motel"
Let's see if I can sum this up quickly: 1. Stray dogs on property (and elsewhere in vicinity) 2. Non-functioning A/C 3. Highly uncomfortable beds 4. Terrible value for the money.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel in the Navajo Reservation, close to Monument Valley. Good restaurant, nice swimming pool. Overall a pleasant stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel with great access to Monument Valley"
This was a comfortable, clean hotel with great access to Monument Valley. The tours they promote to Monument Valley and Mystery Valley were also great. Fry bread at hotel dining was great.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Worse price/quality ratio of our Utah grand tour"
Of course, you cannot be too picky when you are in Kayenta, but this was by far the most expensive hotel of our national parks tour, which forces us to to report a couple of problems. First, we arrived at 5PM of a 114F day and the hotel had run out of towels for the swimming pool; they had no plan to provide new ones until the next day. Hard to believe: […] they do not have enough towels. Second, that night at 2 AM the couple in the adjacent room decided to have some fun. Well, not only we could hear every breath, gasp, pant, etc for the entire duration of the exercise, but the massive headboard banging rhythmically against the wall provided the definitive full surround experience. It was a miracle that our 11 years old daughter remained asleep. We were so embarrassed. The low quality of the insulation and absence of management/quality control (fixing the headboard is a must!) left us puzzled. Look elsewhere, especially if you have kids. We rode a motorcycle 350 miles through Monument Valley in 105 degree heat arriving at the Hotel late afternoon. The staff was great. The Inn was what we expected after reading the reviews, outdated by today's standards but very welcomed rest stop on a trail of beautiful scenery. The restaurant was average. I recommend it but do not expect a 5 star.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location, but be prepared"
This hotel is for the "seasoned" traveler who is able to take the good with the bad. Clean rooms, but no internet service, as advertized. No fridge or microwave in room. Food in the dining room is good with generous portions, but service is very slow (perhaps that is why there is a salad bar for dinner and a breakfast buffet). Prices are reasonable. […] The laundry facilities are adequate. If you wish to tour Monument Valley, do NOT book with the Crawley's Monument Valley Tours which is promoted through the gift shop. Our driver did not show up and when the store attendant tried to find other drivers there were none. We then had to drive the 20+ miles to and from the Valley, pay the entrance fee, and hire another driver at the Monument. The tour was fine, but it cost an extra $30 in total and the inconvenience meant getting back over two hours later than planned. Fore warned is fore armed. All that said, I would return, unless I could get a room at the View Hotel at the Monument. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
