"Good get away hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 26, 2013
This is a nice hotel. The rooms are a bit cramped. The restaurant is fantastic. There is no room service however which is surprising considering they have the restaurant.

Perfect location and very comfortable, clean, well-maintained place.

We were staying at the Hotel de Glace just down the road; so the hotel offered a closeby location where we could come in a day early and relax. It was near the main street of the town that offered many dining options. We had breakfast in the hotel dining room, which was very good.
"Very Good Value"
Close to Old Quebec city - only a 15 min walk. Good place to stay if you can't afford staying right in the center of Old Quebec city - also convenient if you have your own car. I would call this a 3 star hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"what a great hotel in a great city!"
This was an excellent experience, a modern boutique hotel, tastefully furnished ! Excellent bedding! The only minor distraction was the location somewhat distant from the old city and other attractions. Recommend it without reservationsGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good location in Quebec city"
It's a good hotel overall - close enough to the Old Town neighborhood in Quebec; room was modern-style and very clean. The only drawback is that there is no guest laundry within the hotel itself. They have a very good valet service too.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very nice"
I saw other reviews criticizing the neighborhood, but I thought it was fine; residential instead of touristy. The cappuccino machine in the lobby is awesome. Free, unlimited and of high quality. It grinds the beans there, etc.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

class hotel very modern, overpriced,we asked for special room for special occasion, request ignored. we found better option on return to visit old town to be b&b at leve and catch ferry across river, half price and lovely cityGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Wonderful time!"
Hotel Pur is very modern and comfortable. The view from the room was fantastic, we were on the 12th floor and views were wonderful. It is a bit of a hike to the Old City due to it being uphill, but well within walking distance. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Would definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not in the Old City but good location"
The Hotel Pur is located just down the hill on the other side of the old city...like a 15 minute walk. Nonetheless, it is in an up and coming neighborhood and the Hotel itself is great...amazingly clean (Pure) and luxurious, and just as we read about the free cappucchino machine the lobby is great!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Enjoyed Hotel Pur"
Decor was very interesting in the Mondrian style. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The food was good, but overpriced. There are enough surrounding restaurants within walking distance, so it is not a problem not to eat in the hotel. It was a pleasant surprise because the photos really don't do it justice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Would love to stay again"
The Hotel itself has a very modern feel. Our room was comfortable for two and had a great view. There are a variety of good restaurants nearby, but it is also not far from the old part of the city. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to those of us whose do not speak any French. The hotel restaurant was also very nice. The walk to the upper […] part of old town is a bit of a hike, but there is an elevator at the top of Couronne that gets you most of the way to the top of the hill. on line this hotel looks VERY chic, but in reality the rooms very very small and the beds, just a mattress on a wood frame. bed less then a full. one part of the ceiling in the bathroom wasn't even painted. the location was good, very near to quebec city, we walked everywhere. the BEST feature of this hotel was the automatic esspresso/capiachino machine […] in the lobby. sub standard to american hotels Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Very cool place"
This hotel is in an up and coming neighborhood, which means it's not mobbed with tourists and there's good food to be found, specifically le cercle and le clochie penche (name?), both excellent. "Coolest hotel"
This is by far the coolest hotel I've ever stayed. Initially I was concerned by the distance from the hotel to the city, but after seeing the hotel, I didn't mind a little bit of walking. The hotel is located in St.-Roch neighborhood, which has a great character with new restaurants and shops. The hotel was minimally decorated, but the decor was well-coordinated. […] My room was very large and comfortable. It was located on the 14th floor so I was able to see the city from my room. "PUR excellence"
Both the staff and the room were outstanding. I stayed in a king suite, which had a lot of room for belongings and lounging around... not that I'm much for spending time in the hotel on vacation. About a 15 minute walk to all the old town tourist sites so there was no need to do anything with my car other than drop it off at the valet until it was time […] to go. It is extremely trendy, which may or may not be to your liking. Two minor complaints: 1) I've never seen valet service be taxed before but it is here. 2) When I went to their restaurant for breakfast, about 20 minutes before breakfast was supposed to end, no one was around to seat or serve me. They must have not expected anyone else. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Minimalist style (decor black, white, grey) but still comfortable. "Great Hotel!"
Staying at Hotel PUR was great! The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel is located in a neighborhood full of shops, restaurants and pubs and the walk to Old Quebec was short (took only 20 minutes or so). There is also a brewery and supermarket nearby. There is a very cool swimming pool on the 3rd floor next to the fitness center. The […] room is decorated nicely and is very clean. The only issue I had was with the smell of the room. It was supposed to be a non-smoking room, but it stunk of old rotten cigarettes. Not a pleasant smell! But, despite the room stench, it was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend this hotel! "Hotel PUR, Quebec = Exellent Value"
I stayed midweek in late October 2010. Value for money was excellent. Location perfect allowing me to see other parts of the city on the way to the 'touristy district'. Close to bus and train station too. I was most impressed with this hotel. After traveling through North America and Canada for several weeks, without a doubt, PUR was the the pick of […] the bunch - especially for it's value for money. The rooms are modern-minimalistic. functional, extremely comfortable, and the room I had, had a great view of downtown life from the 7th floor. The King size bed was my best sleep in a long time. "Great non-touristy location"
Very nice, modern hotel in a cool location in Quebec. "Not such a great night in Quebec City"
My wife and I found a dirty comforter on our bed, but the remaining fixtures and linens looked clean. We went to bed around 11 PM and were awoken by a party on the floor above us. After calling the receptionist 3 times, the hotel security failed to stop the party-goers the floor above us and we did not get any sleep. When I complained to the front desk […] in person at 4:30 AM, the staffer just said that the 17th floor had been fully rented out to a single party and that security had tried numerous times to quiet them down. Unfortunately, they did not offer to move us to a quieter room or compensate us for the intolerable behavior of their guests. We immediately checked out looking forward to our return back home. "Hotel PUR -- a relaxing oasis in Quebec City"
My husband and I stayed at Hotel PUR for 3 nights in September 2010 during a 2-week trip to Canada. I'm still wanting to return to the hotel, as none of the other hotels in other cities compare to Hotel PUR. It is surprising that this hotel is listed as a 3-star hotel because it has an indoor pool, fitness center, high quality bedding, brand-new bathroom […] features, free computers and printer in the lobby, and a free coffee/espresso machine in the lobby. "Outstanding modern design hotel"
A defrocked 18-story Holiday Inn, believe it or not, in the heart of Quebec's upcoming trendy St. Roche district. Very modernistic re-furbished, ultra-clean rooms with excellent views of the city. "Wonderful experience at Hotel PUR in Quebec City"
Everything about this hotel did not disappoint. After a less than satisfactory experience at a similarly priced hotel in Montreal, we were prepared for something similar. We're big fans of boutique hotels rather than chains, […] and this one really gave us a wonderful experience. "Hotel Pur in Quebec City - very enjoyable"
We loved the location of the hotel. It was about a 15min. walk from the walls of Old Quebec, but all along the way there were interesting sites such as shops, restaurants & parks. It is in a lovely neighbourhood and the prices at restaurants are a bit lower because you are not right inside Old Quebec. "PUR is nearly PUR-fect...."
I love the chic and modern style of this hotel! The staff is friendly and helpful. I've stayed on the 15th floor looking onto the west side which offers a great view. The valvet parking is $15/day which is not bad. Best of all, they offer free and awesome cappucino..! Also, I know alot of people complained about the location being away from Old Quebec. […] I don't see this as a big problem because it is only a 15 minutes walk to all major attractions. If you'll be staying there in the summer, you have to check out the free Cirque Du Soleil - Les Chemins Invisibles. It is only minutes walk from the hotel which is awesome! The only drawback about this hotel is that the hallway is too dark. If they want to save energy, they should install motion sensor activated lightings instead. Also, the building materials used in this hotel is not the greatest. I can see cracks and flaws on the walls, floors, etc... Nevertheless, my experience with PUR is nearly perfect..! Cheers...! "very up to date place"
The most original thing about the hotel is the layout of the room. The head of the bed is not against the wall, for example. You have more space to put things. Comfortable bed. "Great modern hotel in fun neighborhood"
This is a great hotel located in the St-Roch district of Quebec City. Easily walkable to the main old town in spite of what some guide books tell you. Plus, St-Roch itself had great restaurants, shopping, nightlife. Actually just less than a block from the hotel is a great alley street with several restaurants and bars that were very popular and busy. […] Great food. The hotel room was very comfortable. Great linens, comfortable beds, roomy bathroom vanity. The mini bar was nice to put our purchased foods in unless you like to raid a mini bar yourselves. In the lobby is a self-serve espresso machine. Sounds kinda silly, but this was so great!! Cafe au lait or Cappuccino or tea or espresso when you wanted 24/7. Just a block or so down the street is a grocery store for wine, cheese, take-away deli etc. And across from it a fantastic boulangerie for that morning croissant or pain chocolate! The opposite direction is a great classic yet modern French restaurant called Bossus Bossus. A traditional French restaurant is actually hard to find, so this was a treat. Hotel Pur staff was very helpful and polite. I would absolutely stay there again and the value was terrific. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Sparse and quirky"
The hotel is downhill from the Old City, so the walk there is moderate. It is even more downhill from the exhibition center, so anyone considering it for Convention housing should be prepared for a brisk morning walk. This also means that the neighborhood is not overrun with tour buses. The decor is sparse, even severe, very Ian Schrager-y, so be […] prepared for life in black and white. Our room faced the front of an old church, which filled the floor-to-ceiling glass wall that served as the window. Since the bed faced this vista, those of you with good Catholic upbringing might limit your nocturnal activities. We never tried the restaurant, which was empty whenever we passed by. There are others in the neighborhood which uphold the high standards of Quebecois cuisine - meaning fresh ingredients cooked well. The valet parking people were friendly and helpful - Ask them for restaurant recommendations. All in all, a pleasant hotel experience. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
