A pleasant two-day stay. Classic in-town hotel feel. Excellent attentive staff, clean & comforatable rooms, and quite a nice restaurant (try the glazed salmon). Parking garage and elevator is tight and in-room heat/AC units are dated.Genuine Expedia guest review
This hotel, which was once a Holiday Inn, was clean and presentable, but the bed was extremely uncomfortable, something I certainly did not expect from a relatively expensive property; it was lumpy, too soft and gave me a horrible back ache. Additionally, the window/heating unit did not work very efficiently and seemed like a holdover from the 80s.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Excellent, staff are great, food is great, service is very good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"not three stars maybe one"
Horrible room and hall way, smell like the hotel is over 100 years old, they really need to remodel this hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The helpfulness and cheeriness of the staff was superb. The mattress was the pits. The staff was most helpful in bringing up two strips of plywood to put under the mattress. Our backs thank the staff for helping us out for the final days of our 5 day stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"I ENJOYED MY STAY IMMENSELY!!"
I was able to bring my small dog into a world class hotel. The rooms were lovely and the bed was extremely comfortable! The food and service were excellent! I highly recommend you and your pet stay at THE ATLANTICA HOTEL in Halifax, Nova Scotia!!!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good mix of location & price"
For 5 'young seniors', we appreciated the free shuttle to all the attractions of the Halifax wharf area and the nearby citadel. While the distances are walkable for the fit, a one-way free ride was good. The hotel, rooms, customer service, and dining room were excellent. Don't judge the hotel by the drab exterior.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We enjoyed our 2 night stay at Atlantica, however a safe and refrigerator would have helped.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice stay. Hotel was nice but felt it seemed a little outdated in its interior. Staff was nice, courteous, and helpful. Good location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Alantica Hotel Halifax rating"
Very friendly and helpful staff, the room had been refurbished so was very good.Genuine Expedia guest review
Nice view from 15th floor. But the garage below required some extra maneuvering to park a small to midsized car. Also, I didn't like the idea of placing overpriced snacks inside the room. And our room was entered while we were away, even though we specifically asked that it not be.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A little hard to find because it wasn't on a main"
Very good - except you had to pay extra to park. with directions for the third time we found it.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very good value"
Stayed two nights on vacation trip - the room was well-designed for comfort and well-maintained by housekeeping staff. Everything met or exceeded our expectations.Genuine Expedia guest review
Well located to a number of services and restaurants. Not a long drive to downtown and a few good sites within walking distance. Hopefully in the years to come some redecorating off rooms [with functioning air systems] will happen.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel offered everything I could every need. A parking garage is under the hotel allowing comfort in leaving your car. They exchange money which was such a relief. The room was in great condition and all of the staff were amazing. What a great experience!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Nice hotel not too far from downtown Halifax."
Stayed at the Atlantica Hotel in a king room on the third floor July 30 and 31. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. This hotel is a bit of a walk to the waterfront, but it is a pleasant one. The hotel does offer a courtesy ride in the morning until 9:30AM and another evening which really cuts down on walking distance and time. The parking garage […] below the hotel is a bit on the tight side, but very do able. Just be sure you have you ticket handy for the gate when you want to leave. The pool and hot tub were nice to use after a day of sight seeing and there is an adjacent outdoor sun deck area. There is a very nice restaurant off the lobby and we had breakfast there before checking out. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great place, great service"
The staff was exceptional! It was very cold in Halifax and the heat in my room didn't work. In just a few minutes I moved to a new room with heat. Housekeeping was just as exceptional. I would stay again at the Atlantica.Genuine Expedia guest review

"OK but its not a Delta"
The front desk staff, restaurant/bar are great. The rooms need some upgrades at a minimum. The exercise room, change rooms, and pool are horrible. I'm a Delta Platunum member so Im used to some of the perks they have at that level, but I tried the Atlantica because another business person was staying there. The bathroom sink drained slow. There was […] a constant rush of water sound that kept me awake. The lousy iron spotted water on my cloths, there was no convenient outlet to plug the iron into. There were no outlets near the bed so I had to unplug the clock to plug in my phone. The water temperature for the shower was really limited too. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great for families visiting atudents at Dalhousie"
The location is close to Dalhousie University, and as I was visiting my daughter there at college it was convenient. If you go in the winter it is right across the street from a great ice skating oval where they rent skates for free! It is about a 15 minute walk from the waterfront restaurants and shops and is also close to shopping and the citadel. […] The rooms are decent but need some upgrades-the curtain hems were hanging down and the bedspread looked worn. However the room was clean. Parking costs an additional 17 bucks a day which seems a lot considering the relatively high price of the hotel. The staff were helpful and recommended restaurants and activities in the area. I would stay at this hotel again because of its location, decent service and adequately appointed rooms. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Clean, comfortable, contemporary elegance."
My room was very well appointed: well furnished with fine desk, table, bench for suitcase, as well as comfortable bed and chairs, proper toiletries and abundant towels in the bathroom, attractive paintings above the beds. The hotel is modern in style: straight lines, little ornamentation, neat appearance, spacious. The restaurant, "Seasons," provided […] standard breakfast fare, with attentive service on two of my three mornings there, and an imaginative nouvelle cuisine dinner menu (a seared scallop entree included a cut of beef short rib meat that was larger than all the scallops combined) featuring locally sourced ingredients. As a tourist, I intended to spend most of my time on foot, exploring the city. The hotel is not ideally located for that — it took me about a half hour to walk to or from the major downtown sites. But cab fares are reasonable ($6.50 to the waterfront). The elevated location affords panoramic views of the city and the region. The hotel has the facilities one would expect for business, meetings, and health and recreation. Who could ask for anything more? Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Clean, comfortable - a bit of a walk to waterfront"
The Atlantica in Halifax was clean, comfortable and well maintained. The local area had shopping, services, etc. and felt safe to walk through. We had good weather and like to walk, so walking to the hisoric and waterfront area of Halifax was fine for us, but if you don't it might be necessary to pay for parking in those areas or take a cab. Two issues […] we had: I had to do some laundry and there was only one washer and dryer for the whole hotel. I lost a big chunk of a day running back and forth or sitting there, trying to get in among lots of other people with laundry. The other thing was that the restaurant was way overpriced for breakfast - we didn't even know how much until we got the bill. We weren't told there were two different prices for different parts of the buffet. And the waitress was snooty. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
It was very nice. I would go there again if I would go to Halifax...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Downtown Halifax at it's Best"
It was really great. We walked almost everywhere - it is so convenient to be able to see all the sights of downtown - the Harbour, the Casino, the sailboat tour, the brewery tour, the art gallery and museum...all within walking distance - how great is that? It is so beautiful and worthwhile to go there.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Enjoyed the hotel and the staff. Overall the our stay at this hotel was awesome, comfortable, safe and luxurious. I would definitely return.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The staff was great and so were the rooms!!!. We took the limo to the waterfront and the driver told us a great deal about Halifax on the way. To get back we took a cab which cost 10.00 dollars with tip. We had a very nice stay and would recommend the hotel to anyone. The only downside is the hotel is not right on the waterfront, but the hotel rate […] compared with other hotels made up for it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

There is a wonderful pool at the hotel and it was very easy for me to do my one mile (50 minutes or so). This hotel used to be a Holiday Inn several years ago. Thank you.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good family hotel"
Gave us nice adjacent rooms and had a nice, deep, pool. If they had free breakfast it would have been perfect.Genuine Expedia guest review
We switched from a 5-star to the Atlantica for a few additional nights and we might as well have stayed at the Atlantica from the beginning - it was that pleasant and accessible!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good Place to Stay"
Unfortunately, there was a kid's hockey tournament in action and some of the lads were in rooms too near to us. They were pretty rowdy but the noise died down by midnight. However, the restaurant was far too expensive. We ate there once but not again. And underground parking was $17/day which is a bit steep when we were guests of the hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
It's a great hotel, although I wish it was closer to the harbor.Genuine Expedia guest review
Far from thlings to see. Staff vague about area and pick up of airporter. I would not rate this higher than 2 1/2. No food before going to airport. You didn't like my name so if this doesn't go through I'm done!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Dated hotel that lacks basic amenities."
This hotel apparently used to be a Holiday Inn. I'm not sure if it's a good or a bad thing that they have been taken over by another group. The hotel lacks basic amenities like a lobby shop or room service and the rooms were small and dark. The parking lot is underground and very cramped. At one point we came home from dinner and the lot was full even […] though we stated that we would be parking there for the duration of our stay, the front desk staff said our only option was to wait until the bar closed to see if some cars cleared out or park down the street. We also wanted to spend a fair amount of time by the waterfront and this hotel is a bit removed. It's a nice walk, but be advised that the area is quite hilly and may not be an easy walk for those with physical limitations. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
