"OK but its not a Delta"
The front desk staff, restaurant/bar are great. The rooms need some upgrades at a minimum. The exercise room, change rooms, and pool are horrible. I'm a Delta Platunum member so Im used to some of the perks they have at that level, but I tried the Atlantica because another business person was staying there. The bathroom sink drained slow. There was […] a constant rush of water sound that kept me awake. The lousy iron spotted water on my cloths, there was no convenient outlet to plug the iron into. There were no outlets near the bed so I had to unplug the clock to plug in my phone. The water temperature for the shower was really limited too. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great for families visiting atudents at Dalhousie"
The location is close to Dalhousie University, and as I was visiting my daughter there at college it was convenient. If you go in the winter it is right across the street from a great ice skating oval where they rent skates for free! It is about a 15 minute walk from the waterfront restaurants and shops and is also close to shopping and the citadel. […] The rooms are decent but need some upgrades-the curtain hems were hanging down and the bedspread looked worn. However the room was clean. Parking costs an additional 17 bucks a day which seems a lot considering the relatively high price of the hotel. The staff were helpful and recommended restaurants and activities in the area. I would stay at this hotel again because of its location, decent service and adequately appointed rooms. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

What a wonderful hotel! Exceptional staff and accommodations. Delicious room service. Close to Quinpool & Spring Garden & other sites. I will stay here again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean, comfortable, contemporary elegance."
My room was very well appointed: well furnished with fine desk, table, bench for suitcase, as well as comfortable bed and chairs, proper toiletries and abundant towels in the bathroom, attractive paintings above the beds. The hotel is modern in style: straight lines, little ornamentation, neat appearance, spacious. The restaurant, "Seasons," provided […] standard breakfast fare, with attentive service on two of my three mornings there, and an imaginative nouvelle cuisine dinner menu (a seared scallop entree included a cut of beef short rib meat that was larger than all the scallops combined) featuring locally sourced ingredients. As a tourist, I intended to spend most of my time on foot, exploring the city. The hotel is not ideally located for that — it took me about a half hour to walk to or from the major downtown sites. But cab fares are reasonable ($6.50 to the waterfront). The elevated location affords panoramic views of the city and the region. The hotel has the facilities one would expect for business, meetings, and health and recreation. Who could ask for anything more? Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Clean, comfortable - a bit of a walk to waterfront"
The Atlantica in Halifax was clean, comfortable and well maintained. The local area had shopping, services, etc. and felt safe to walk through. We had good weather and like to walk, so walking to the hisoric and waterfront area of Halifax was fine for us, but if you don't it might be necessary to pay for parking in those areas or take a cab. Two issues […] we had: I had to do some laundry and there was only one washer and dryer for the whole hotel. I lost a big chunk of a day running back and forth or sitting there, trying to get in among lots of other people with laundry. The other thing was that the restaurant was way overpriced for breakfast - we didn't even know how much until we got the bill. We weren't told there were two different prices for different parts of the buffet. And the waitress was snooty. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
It was very nice. I would go there again if I would go to Halifax...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Downtown Halifax at it's Best"
It was really great. We walked almost everywhere - it is so convenient to be able to see all the sights of downtown - the Harbour, the Casino, the sailboat tour, the brewery tour, the art gallery and museum...all within walking distance - how great is that? It is so beautiful and worthwhile to go there.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Enjoyed the hotel and the staff. Overall the our stay at this hotel was awesome, comfortable, safe and luxurious. I would definitely return.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The staff was great and so were the rooms!!!. We took the limo to the waterfront and the driver told us a great deal about Halifax on the way. To get back we took a cab which cost 10.00 dollars with tip. We had a very nice stay and would recommend the hotel to anyone. The only downside is the hotel is not right on the waterfront, but the hotel rate […] compared with other hotels made up for it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

There is a wonderful pool at the hotel and it was very easy for me to do my one mile (50 minutes or so). This hotel used to be a Holiday Inn several years ago. Thank you.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good family hotel"
Gave us nice adjacent rooms and had a nice, deep, pool. If they had free breakfast it would have been perfect.Genuine Expedia guest review
We switched from a 5-star to the Atlantica for a few additional nights and we might as well have stayed at the Atlantica from the beginning - it was that pleasant and accessible!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good Place to Stay"
Unfortunately, there was a kid's hockey tournament in action and some of the lads were in rooms too near to us. They were pretty rowdy but the noise died down by midnight. However, the restaurant was far too expensive. We ate there once but not again. And underground parking was $17/day which is a bit steep when we were guests of the hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
It's a great hotel, although I wish it was closer to the harbor.Genuine Expedia guest review
Far from thlings to see. Staff vague about area and pick up of airporter. I would not rate this higher than 2 1/2. No food before going to airport. You didn't like my name so if this doesn't go through I'm done!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Dated hotel that lacks basic amenities."
This hotel apparently used to be a Holiday Inn. I'm not sure if it's a good or a bad thing that they have been taken over by another group. The hotel lacks basic amenities like a lobby shop or room service and the rooms were small and dark. The parking lot is underground and very cramped. At one point we came home from dinner and the lot was full even […] though we stated that we would be parking there for the duration of our stay, the front desk staff said our only option was to wait until the bar closed to see if some cars cleared out or park down the street. We also wanted to spend a fair amount of time by the waterfront and this hotel is a bit removed. It's a nice walk, but be advised that the area is quite hilly and may not be an easy walk for those with physical limitations. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Good. Hotel was a little dated but overall stay was pleasant. Parking is a little pricey. Would stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Desk receptionists friendly, beds comfortable. I found the room temperature cold and turning up the heat had no effect. Breakfasts are expensive when travelling with children, free hot/cold buffet is the way to go.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Terrific stay. Only negative was at night a looong time to get hot water in the shower after a work out. Mornings were fine.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Newly renovated room with king bed, chaise lounge, new carpets, tastefully decorated. In addition to the chaise, only other chair was at desk. Limited seating for company. Staff at desk were exceptional, very accommodating and friendly. Made things as easy as possible when traveling with an elderly parent. We attended a wedding at the hotel. My pillow was stained. It almost looked like a drool stain and there seemed to be a swampy smell probly because the bathroom fan wasn't working. "Large and comfy room"

"Near the Citadel"
Hotel was adequate...i would describe it as a little "tired", but it was convenient, clean, and reasonably priced. The Citadel is across the street, while Dalhousie and St.Marys universities are just down the street.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"East Coast Vacation"
Hotel was easy to find from Stanfield airport. Appearance was striking with large circular windowed restaurant out fornt. Front desk staff were very courtious and helpful. We were upgraded to Gold Floor. Parking was easy to access. Restaurant lounge was comfortable. We met family and friends in lounge. Lounge staff was efficient and friendly. Food was […] below par-we just snacked on chicken wings and tostados. Wings were undercooked and overbreaded. Tostados were just a deep fried mess. Room was comfortable but only had 1 robe and 1 bottle of water. If you are going to be nosy enough to ask how many adults in the room then use the information to make sure enough amenities are provided. Check out was efficient. We met family for breakfast near by and then toured downtown so location is good for visiting downtown attractions if you are in for a short walk.. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great service! Good deal."
We picked this hotel as the price was good compared to the big names located in the core downtown Halifax area. It made better sense to me once we arrived in town as it's a 15 minute walk up hill from the airport bus stop to the hotel. Hence the price difference. This becomes a non-issue for the rest of our stay as we found a bus stop right by the hotel […] that can take us downtown. Service was great and friendly and we even got an upgrade when we told them we were here for our honeymoon. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great stay at the Atlantica Hotel"
Overall we had a great experience at the Atlantica. Check in was quick and easy, and all dealings with the staff were very pleasant. Our room was clean and comfortable - great value for the money. The only things that were a little on the downside was the fact that the curtains in the room could not be pulled over to block the sun. And we did have […] one incident in which we had the do not disturb sign hung on our door while we went out, only to return to find the sign hung on the inside of the door, but the room untouched. Besides those two little things, we were very satisfied with our stay and would stay again for sure! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Close to Dalhousie University"
Since we read previous ratings about the Atlantica we were prepared for the extra cost of parking - daily. We feel it should have been advised in the hotel information and perhaps included in the cost. We did not eat in the hotel restaurant so we are not at liberty to critique their menu or costs. (The suite menu does not include costs either.) Overall, […] it is a lovely hotel and very close, within walking distance, to Dalhousie university. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I, personally, appreciated the use of the lobby computer as I was able to communicate with family. We will choose this hotel again when we return. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
