"Pre-cruise perfection!"

"Mislead by others reviews!"
Antiquated hotel! Beds were stiff as boards. Toilet and AC didn't work. Trying to get a can of soda was an effort. Far off the beaten path. Old an run down. Don't waste your money!

"Noisy venting system"
Everything was fine except we had a room next to the venting system for the kitchen. It was like constant thunder. We were offered by the hotel to move but stayed as packing up again would have been equally as tiresome. The hotel grounds are beautiful but it's a little far from St. Peters, you can catch the metro which is about a 15 minute walk away. The hotel staff were very nice and the food in the restaurant quite good as well.

On the other hand I’m very sorry to read about the problems experienced with the venting system. Having read your comments, I can imagine the disappointment and I therefore apologize for any inconvenience encountered. I have discussed the points you raised with our Engineering and as a result I’m confident they will be more vigilant to be sure that similar inconvenience will not be repeated in the future and they will take the necessary steps to continue to improve their services. Regarding the location, allow me to put on record, that the Hotel offers a regular shuttle bus (1,50€ one way, 3€ return), greatly appreciated from all our guest staying with us. The bus runs on a regular basis to Vatican Museum & St. Peter's Basilica (nearest underground Ottaviano) in the morning (9-10-11-12) and to the heart of the city center (Trastevere) in the afternoon (16-17-19-20-21) and evening. Moreover 2 different public busses are available just at the doorstep of the hotel to reach downtown which is only 3 km far from our Hotel), or reach the nearest metro station and in 20 minutes discover all the main attractions in the heart of Rome. In addition Taxis are always readily available (taxi stand on site in our car park) and cost only 12 euros to get in to the city center. "Close to Vatican and cruise transfer provided"
very pleased with the hotel shuttle service and the assistance provided by hotel staff in arranging for tours. We took a Norwegian cruise and booked the night before with NCL including a transfer to the ship. Last time we took a cruise in Italy it was from Genoa and we did not go with a ship transfer and the taxi ride cost us 200 euros! I have been very pleased with the services from this hotel.

"Great location"
Rooms & bathroom needs an up date wall paper is old & pealing off had to change room the next day because TV was not working Hall too dark Was charged 24 euro for a movie that we did not view try to argue but hotel cleark did not agreed to remove the charges We love the location & the idea that it had a bar & lay he so we can relax, the staff is great & helpful . "World class service. Thanks Roberto and Stephano"
We booked this gem since it was the extraction point for a cruise. Roberto at the front desk made us feel completely welcome at check in after a grueling 15 hour flight and readily assisted us with confirmation calls. We enjoyed dinner at their casual restaurant and breakfast at the AM buffet. Stephano, at the bar, showed us world-class service. The room was very clean and well appointed. The staff went out of their way to help us with the language barrier. We will return!

"Good"
Staff was helpful, good service,rooms were clean,food was good. The only complaint is that there was a flight reservation error and we had to leave the hotel a day earlier and the prepaid room charge was not refunded.

"Nice place to stay near the Vatican"
We enjoyed this hotel as a great way to end our family trip. The pool was refreshing and the spa services were luxurious. The buffet breakfast was a treat. Music in the bar in the evening was a relaxing way to end the day.

My only issue with the hotel service was in the restaurant when the waitress recorded two meals ordered, incorrectly, which meant third member of party ate alone while this was rectified. However the head waiter offered a free bottle of wine as recompense which was most acceptable !! Otherwise a lovely experience, hotel ideally located and the attractions were easily accessible by public transport or hotel shuttle. I would definitely stay here again.

"Great Hotel"
Everything was perfect, except location. Getting to the subway is not easy. Long walk with traffic to cross several times and walking required too close to traffic. All this hotel needs to be perfect is a shuttle to the subway every hour or so. Or work out a deal with the taxi drivers so they can charge a little extra and get you over there safely. We did not speak to any taxi driver but the hotel says they do not like taking people to the subway, I guess it is too close so charge is not high enough. Other than that, perfect!

"Hotel is good but could do with revamping"
The hotel is somewhat old style and could do with a revamp. service is good and if you are only staying 1 or 2 nights in Rome it provides the necessary quality. The staff is helpful, but the restaurant could be improved. Bkf is good but lunch or dinner is too simple and not up to standard. the restaurant next to the hotel is 10 times better quality for money. The bus service into town is good if you intend to do Rome on foot.

"Nice hotel for the price"
We had a pleasant stay. The only complaints I have is the air never worked properly and one morning we were woke up by some loud construction going on outside. The staff was extremely helpful and have us a recommendation for a restaurant that ended up being the best dinner we had the entire time in Rome.

"Perfect For Overnight Stay Next To FCO Airport"
We stayed at this hotel for one night after spending 16 days in Italy. It is close to the airport and a great way to relax after hard travel through Italy. The staff was great and the room; although warm, was clean and inviting. They have a restaurant on site and although it is expensive it did allow us to spend the day unwinding before our travel home to the USA. The offer an convenient shuttle to the FCO airport but you must book the day before. I would not recommend this hotel for someone visiting Rome city central, it is just too far and taxi's would be expensive. For our purpose, it served us well and we would stay at this hotel again.

"Leaving Roma"
The hotel is not in town,you will need to take a taxi or the metro. It was nice to have to a Pool and hot tub to relax after walking all over Roma. The bed are too small, the told us they were queen size beds, but they were actually doubles.

"Nice Hotel"
The hotel was nice, comfortable and clean. The only downfall is that is a few miles out from the city center and you need to take a cab to the center. The hotel has a shuttle as well which is less expensive. Prepare for traffic going in the city in the morning. It is about 10 minutes to Vatican cab ride without traffic, with traffic closer to 20mins.

One of the best hotel experiences I've ever had! Staff consistently goes out of their way to make their guests happy. Beautiful pool and grounds. Great restaurant and bar. Lovely grounds. Convenient shuttle to Trastevere or St. Peter's. Taxis on site at the ready. Nice rooms with tubs and legitimate A/C. Did not want to leave!!

"Far from attractions"
The hotel was ok- it was nice to have a big pool. It's a great place for families to have a safe place for the kids to run around. But the hotel is far from all of the attractions in Rome. So you either have to take a cab or shuttle, both of which cost money. So keep that in mind when looking at more expensive hotels in the city center.

"This time I was disappointed"
I've stayed at this hotel several times and the condition of the rooms were not as kept up with repairs necessary. Toilet loose. Bathroom door unable to shut completely. Latch on front door not operable. The bedding was wonderful. The maid service was truly very good. Getting a taxi without a doorman is more difficult. The major set back was the drop off point in the afternoon is horrible location and definitely not a prime walking area. The old drop off location was more preferable. Staff during breakfast was put off when asking for a cafe latte or cappuccino Difficult to obtain refill or plain hot pot. I really use to live this hotel. Times have changed.

"Close to sights"
The hotel was the best one we stayed in while in rome, the only thing we didnt like was the fact as it advertised complimentary shuttles and it acutally cost money and they did not tell when their shuttles were leaving the hotel or when picking you up at their supposed pick up points so we had to take a taxi \. Other then their horrible shuttle service everything else was great

"Crowne Plaza that should be a Motel 6"
I expect better service and accommodations from a Crowne Plaza. The staff was rude and not very helpful. The meals are outrageously expensive and the hotel itself is old and run down. My room was quite a hike from the elevators and the promised "balcony overlooking the gardens" was actually a view of the storage areas and trash bins.

"Even better than our last stay/visit"
This was our second visit to Rome over the course of two years and it was an easy decision to stay at the Crowne Plaza again. Don't be fooled by the dated facade, the construction to the hotel's interior and outdoor pool has been completed and the hotel looks and is fabulous. The shuttle is no longer free, but 1.5€ per person (each way) is still a great rate. Staff was very polite and helpful, as always.

"Great hotel away from the city center"
Hotel is a little difficult to get to if you aren't familiar with public transportation. If you're willing to spend money on a taxi everyime you want to go somewhere, the hotel does have taxis available on-site. The hotel's bus is handy to get to downtown and the Vatican but only runs to the Vatican in the morning and downtown in the afternoon. The hotel is in good condition and pretty quiet, nice amenities such as a work out center, spa, in and outdoor pool, tennis courts, very nice overall. I would recommend for people looking to stay out of the city for rest and relaxation. Not recommended for city goes who are looking to be in the action.

Great rooms tremendous staff. Overall a wonderful experience. I have stayed At three crowne plazas in Europe and they give always fantastic helpful Service. The halls to the room where weird but the room fantastic. Gym needs a little Update pool was great. Room service expeeeeensive!! 13 euros for 2 juice glasses. Hop on bus and go outside

"Great and Comfortable for everyone"
Hotel was very comfortable, staff were polite, beds very comfortable, breakfast if you are staying more than 2 to 3 days becomes very boring as the menu never changes. On the whole all ameneties, shuttle services, restaurantes were great. would make it a return trip.

For a four star hotel we expected more. The room was hot when we entered and trying to adjust the thermostat did nothing. The air, heat unit only gave off heat. The patio door to outside wouldn't lock, but that didn't matter, because we left it open to cool the room. The bathroom fixtures were dated and the walls were very thin since we heard everybody coming and going in the hall way all night.The service of the front desk personel was very good, they helped with the transortation to downtown and to the airport.

"Not worth the money!"
My wife and I visited in early November 2012 with another couple.. This hotel is definitely NOT worth the money. I cannot imagine a family staying in this hotel. Restaurants are very expensive and there is no alternative within walking distance. It was less expensive (with better food) to take a taxi round trip to the St. Peter's Square area to eat. House keeping was poor. It was necessary to ask for wash cloths. We left our used towels and wash cloths on the floor so that housekeeping would replace them, but we found that they would sometimes hang them back on the towel racks for us to reuse. We were provided with plastic cups for use in the bathroom, but the cups were not replaced daily. There was no air conditioning in the hotel because "it is no longer summer". We slept with the balcony door open to cool the room at night. Shuttle schedule is limited - both to the airport and to St Peter's Square. We found that a Taxi ride to the airport was a better value. There are much better options in Rome.

We were put to smoking room. Didnt want one. Then the room had water coming in from the bathroom above us. Great! Hot tub was cold... Had to wear a shower cap its the rules and you feel like a fool wearing it.

"When in ROme"
We stayed as a family of 4 in the height and heat of summer. The room was big enough for the 4 of us and was well air conditioned with fridge, etc and ice on every floor. The pool was fantastic, but the opening hours were a bit short - 9 -8. As many other people have said it would be much better of those hours were say 7-10 so you could use it before or after a hot day in the city. Getting into the city centre was easy, we used the useful hotel bus, local buses and the metro, all were cheap and frequent. The main disappointment was breakfast - the hot food was expensive and always cold, and the choice generally was much poorer than Hiltons, and other similar standard hotels.

"Pizza was not good"
Room is spacious. Bus/taxi is convenient for this hotel which is away from the city. Restaurant served a pizza (in Italy!!!) which was unacceptable. The flour of the pizza tasted uncooked. The waiter confirmed with the manager and gave a 3 Euro discount on the pizza.

"Did the job"
Room had all basic features as you would expect, nothing remarkable. Mattresses were very firm and struggled on the first night to get the air conditioning working so not much sleep had. Bathroom needing some upgrading and shower virtually flooded the bathroom when used due to poor design. Spa/indoor pool was not for children. Despite advice that outside pool would not be open until May they had cleaned it so did allow the children to use as we were so fortunate with the weather. It was, however absolutely freezing but kids don't care about such things! Food, particularly breakfast, was great. Staff were mostly very friendly and helpful. In summary, it was "fine"!

"An amazing hotel just outside the city centre"
Me and my husband went to this hotel on a mini honeymoon break and we were not disappointed, we had such a nice time in this hotel, staff were every nice, helpful and accommodating to our wants and needs, layout was lovely, gym access very good (open from 5.30am) which for a gym bunny like myself this was perfect as then I could still have the rest of the day to enjoy and site see, easy access to the city by a shuttle bus provided by the hotel. Food was soooo yummy especially creations made by the hotel chefs. I would 100% recommend this hotel
