Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore Jeannette, thank you for taking the time to provide feedback from your recent stay! As mentioned, all 203 guestrooms and suites are newly renovated, with brand-new furniture and bedding, plus new carpeting, wall coverings, window treatments, artwork, lighting, and some bathroom upgrades. Our parking costs are $26 per night for self parking and $46 per night for valet parking, which are comparable costs to all Inner Harbor hotels. We hope you will stay with us again soon!
We took our 10 year old son to the Inner Harbor for his Spring break. The hotel is very conveniently located to everything that we wanted to do. Also we played in the pool every evening and it was wonderful that the hotel provided noodles and kick boards to use. We will definitely stay at this hotel again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore Laura, thank you for your wonderful feedback! We are happy that you enjoyed our ideal location along the waterfront within easy walking distance to all the attractions, as well as our large indoor saltwater swimming pool. As you know, our pool is large enough for lap swimming, and also offers a spacious area for splashing and playing. We've recently expanded our pool hours--the pool is now open daily from 5:00 am through 10:00 pm. We hope you will join us again soon in Charm City!

"A weekend trip for a concert-Wonderful Stay"
I have to admit I wasn't sure about the renovations before we got there. But I was pleasantly surprised by the customer service and sweet faces of the staff. They were always there to greet us and help. The rooms were spotless and cleaned well the next day...even after we had a late start...we came back to our beds with a turn down corner and every […] room cleaned. I highly recommend this hotel. The views are beautiful and its within walking distance to everything! Keep up the excellent customer service and you'll have many people coming back!!!!!!! I know we will be!!!! We hope you will return soon to enjoy our hotel and our Inner Harbor location!
"Well above the average"
This was a family trip, staying on a weekend in late February. That may have contributed to the lack of atmosphere. The place seemed a bit empty. Given that it is right on the Harbor, I can't imagine this is going to be a problem in the summer. One room had been recently renovated and was well above the average in every way. The other was OK but it […] was clear why they had started renovating. We had a problem on check in - not the hotels fault - they sorted it out very quickly and professionally. Not only would I go there again, I am already booked to do so. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore Ian, thank you for your thoughtful comments about your recent stay. We are glad that your family experienced a guestroom with our original look as well as a newly designed guestroom. The difference is incredible, and as you stated, our guestrooms were very good before. And, of course, the terrific service you experienced that has long been the hallmark of our hotel complements our great new look. As of March 1, all guests are enjoying the new guestrooms, and the entirety of the renovation including public spaces will conclude by the end of March. We are excited that you have already booked a return trip to the hotel, and we look forward to hosting you again soon!
"Great hotel...or at least it will be soon"
Overall a great stay. Hotel construction made things a little less than desirable (loud hammering which disrupted napping Saturday late morning to early afternoon, some dust, chilly pool water) which threw a wrench into some of our plans, but nothing that came close to ruining our weekend (construction scheduled to end by March 31). They were also very […] kind to send up a piece of complimentary birthday cake for our son's birthday and that meant a lot to us, and a nice crib was already in the room when we checked in. Room service food was great as was the service. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore Kirk, thank you for your comments. We apologize that several aspects of our ongoing renvoations kept things from being perfect, but we are glad that you were able to have an enjoyable family experience despite the circumstances. As you mentioned, the entire project will wrap up by the end of March, at which time we will have a completely new hotel! As of early March, all guests are experiencing our new guestroom look. Best of all: the same great service you experienced will remain intact, and our product will be better than ever! We hope you plan to return soon for another Inner Harbor experience.
The only downfall was all of the construction going on. You could not sleep in due to loud banging and hammering. Room was clean and updated, you just could not obtain a restful sleepGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore We appreciate the 5-star review despite the inconvenience caused by our ongoing, $10 million renovation. We apologize that your stay was disturbed by the noise, but we are glad you enjoyed the brand-new look to your guestroom. As of March 1, all guests will enjoy the new guestrooms, and we are pleased to announce that the entire renovation project will be completed by the end of March. We hope you will return and enjoy our hotel without the disruption brought on by renovation.
I took my husband for valentine's day. The hotel was under renovation, the hotel pictures online was nothing like in person. The employees I dealt with was Carmen & Dillas Carmen was brilliant, Dillas was very rude. I will never go back here.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore Thank you for choosing Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore. On behalf of our entire team, I apologize for both the negative impact our ongoing $10 million renovation had on your experience, as well as the specific service issue you mentioned in your review. We hope that once our renovation is complete at the end of March, you will change your mind and gove us another chance. The first guests who have stayed in our brand-new guestrooms are absolutely raving about the new look to our guestrooms, and soon the lobby and public space will feature a new look as well. We'd erally appreciate another chance to deliver a great Charm City experience!
Old and under construction.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore Our hotel debuted in 1986, so we are actually a newer hotel than most hotels located on the west side of the Inner Harbor. Once our $10 millino renovation is completed at the end of March, guests will be thrilled with the modern, new vibe of our guestrooms, lobby, and public spaces. We sincerely hope you'll return soon and give us another try!
"it was ok"
pros: The room is clean. I like the espresso shop for grab-and-go breakfast. The bar is OK. Also like the swimming pool with hot tub on the side. cons: It was undergoing major renovation during our stay (Feb 7-11), so there is no lobby area to sit/rest basically. Also it was very noise upstairs during the morning of our last day (drilling and hammering […] sounds...). The mattress is too soft for me. We also met a serviceman that mistook inquiry of restroom to restaurant, and then told us to leave our luggage with him and then he left.. maybe that was just bad luck. Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore We apologize for the myriad issues that caused inconvenience due to our ongoing $10 million renovation. We hope that you plan to visit us again April 1 or later when the hotel renovation is complete, so that you can experience Royal Sonesta Harbor Court at our best. We will feature a new lobby, public space, meeting rooms, and, of course, 203 brand-new guestrooms with new furniture, new bedding, new carpeting and wall coverings, and a new look to our guestroom bathrooms.
"Very disappointing hotel"
This is the first time I have taken the time to review a hotel in all my 20 years of business travel. This by far was the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel on your site. They were renovating the hotel upon check in. They told me that some rooms may have an interruption in water so I specifically asked to not be in one of the affected rooms. […] Sure enough as I am getting ready for a very important business meeting the next morning, no water in the room, sink, shower etc. When I called to complain they told me that all rooms were affected and then when I asked for the manager she said I could go to their workout room and take a shower. Bottom line, this hotel is very dated and not in a good way. They are renovating the lobby but they need to focus on the 1970's style rooms with stains and holes in the carpets and musty furniture and yellowed lamp shades. Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore John, on behalf of our entire team, we apologize that you experienced the water disruption during your stay. As you are aware, we are in the midst of a $10 million dolalr renovation that will result in brand-new guestrooms as well as a new lobby and new publoic space throughout the property. Currently 2 of our 6 guest floors are completed (and based on your comments, unfortunately we were not able to place you in a new guestroom) and by the end of February two more floors will be in service. The entire project will be wrapped up by the end of March, and we sincerely hope you will return this spring to experience our new look.

Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore On behalf of our entire team, we apologize for the wayfinding confusion caused by our recent lobby construction. We are glad to report that our Lobby and Front Desk re-opened on February 4, 2015. Our $10 million renovation will continue through the last week of March, as we are now focusing on completing 2 more floors of guestrooms, as well as our second floor public and meeting space. Our outstanding team is working hard to keep the hotel clean and well-maintained during our $10 million renovation, and we will share your comments with our staff to reinforce the great job they are doing. "O.K AT BEST"
Hotel lobby area is being renovated, which is too bad. It had a beautiful entrance and stairway, and from illustrations it looks like they are going to ruin it. elevator wasn't working, so we took the stairs and ended up wandering through an employee-only service area in order to find the temporary "front desk." We hope you will come back in April when our $10 million renovation is complete so you can experience our new guestrooms, new lobby, and new public space. We are confident that you will be raving about the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore!
Royal Sonesta was a beautiful hotel but we couldn't get the full effect since they were under construction. I wish I would have been warned prior to staying. Rooms were beautiful and I loved how close we were to the Inner Harbor.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore Thank you for the warm comments despiet the trying circumstances. We hope you will come back and give us another try.
I wish I had known the hotel was under construction. Lobby was closed, front desk was a makeshift set-up on second floor. "Perfect View of Baltimore's Inner Harbor"
I've stayed at the Royal Sonesta Baltimore on 3 or 4 occasions and particularly like getting a harbor view room: any time of the day or night, the view of Baltimore's Inner Harbor is enchanting. The hotel is currently undergoing a major renovation; the room I stayed in was not yet renovated but I expect when that is finished the hotel will be even nicer […] to stay at. I had to request that a hair dryer be brought to my room (didn't notice until I was getting dressed early on a very cold morning) and the front desk said they would take care of that right away, but an hour later it still hadn't been delivered, although one was dropped off later in the day. The bellhop was helpful with storing my luggage for a few hours and in arranging for me to have their on-call driver take me to local places for about the same price as a taxi. I will very likely stay here again, because I love the harbor view, and it's a nice place with generally helpful staff. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore We really appreciate your feedback, and we are glad that you have enjoyed terrific service during previous stays, though it's clear we missed the mark on your most recent stay by not having a hair dryer in your guestroom, and by responding too slowly to your request for one. The harborview rooms are spectacular, as each features a floor-to-ceiling bay window offer specactular views of both the Inner Harbor and the downtown skyline. Our $10 million renovation is on tagret for completion prior to April 1, and our new look will transform the look and feel of our property, particularly with the modern look to our new guestrooms. We look forward to hosting you again soon so that you can enjoy the amazing harbor views!
"Could of been better for the price"

Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore Thank you for sharing your feedback about your recent stay. We hope that you will return to the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court, and we will strive to provide you with a better experience on your next visit.
I have stayed at the Sonesta a number of times and always enjoy my stay. The location, right in the heart of the Harbor region is wonderfully convenient and I love playing racquetball in their racquetball court. Their pool, workout room are top notch. The hotel is undergoing some remodeling, which is not great while you're there but the cheaper price […] makes up for it. The rooms are large and comfortable but could use an armchair. "Close to the harbor"
The hotel is undergoing renovation, so check in is on the first floor. Room was spacious and comfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore It sounds like our ongoing $10 million property renovation (through the month of March) did not interfere with your Inner Harbor experience. Thank you for he feedback! Imagine those spacious, comfortable rooms with new wall covering, new carpeting, new window treatments, new furniture and bedding, new chairs, and new touches to the bathroom! We hope you will stay with us again soon to enjoy our brand new look!
We had no running water for the entire day and was given no compensation. I would not recommend this hotel. The restaurant was over priced. The self parking was outrageously over priced. We arrived around 7 pm on a Monday and checked out by 11 am Wednesday and paid almost $50.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore Joanne, we apologize that the water shutoff that was part of our ongoing $10 million renovation caused you significant inconvenience. We scheduled the water shutoff during daytime hours (when the vast majority of our guests are offsite working or exploring the Inner Harbor) during the city's slowest occupancy week of the year. These changes to our pipes and plumbing are necessary to provide the amazing new rainfall showerheads that our brand-new guestrooms will be equipped with. We are surprised at your comments about parking, as our parking prices are within the lower tier amongst Inner Harbor hotels. Being from nearby WIlmington, you are familiar with high parking costs in East Coast cities simply because of the scarcity of parking coupled with the high demand. As with most properties, our hotel neither owns nor operates the parking garage that is on our campus. The combined circumstances certainly left you feeling let down, and we want the chance to provide you with the service and the overall experience that Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore has been known for throughout the past 25+ years. We invite you to return this spring once our $10 million renovation has been completed to experience our new look.
"A Good Tourist Hotel"
First, the downside. The hotel is undergoing a significant renovation and it does interfere with the visitor experience. The check-in desk is about the size of a phone booth, and they have minimal computer capabilities (such as being able to tell if the rooms have been cleaned). However, once you get past this annoyance, I found the hotel very accommodating. […] The staff were all pleasant and willing to assist you. The room was comfortable and clean. The indoor pool, spa, and exercise area were fantastic. The hotel is within walking distance to everything in the inner harbor area. If they can get this renovation completed, it will be a first rate hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore Rick, thank you for your comments. We are one month into our renovation, and less than 90 days from completion. One of the benefits of being a smaller hotel (203 guestrooms) is that a $10 million dollar renovation can be completed fully within the offseason and in a very reasonable timeframe. Our temporary Front Desk will remain on the second floor of the hotel until late January, by which time our all-new lobby will be completed. Our brand-new guestrooms will begin to come online with the next few weeks as well! The same genuine, personalized service that has long been our hallmark will remain, and our location is ideal to both the Inner Harbor and the downtown business district. We can;t wait for you to return and experience our new look!
"Great potential....somewhat disappointing"
Hotel has tons of potential is located in a great place and has big rooms. However, i didn't see anything (when i booked) to indicate that the lobby was under renovation. The bellman was of little help in explaining that there was a temporary lobby on the second floor (which we had to find on our own) and the front "desk" (more of a table in a hallway) […] was not very accomodating in terms of storing our luggage since our room was not ready (we were there early). Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore Daniel, we apologize for the service issues encountered. News of our renovations has been shared for months within these same Hotels.com guest reviews like the one you posted. Nonetheless, clearly you were not aware and this caused confusion during your arrival process, and we apologize. We invite you to return anytime beginnign this spring to experience our new look, featuring new guestrooms, a new lobby, and all new public space. "Noisey and more expensive !!!!"
We arrived at 3:30 am 12/28/14 and we get ready to check in nowhere online does it say its 100 more for a depoist. I was paying cash so this was a big issue because i didnt have alot of money. Then we find out that the hotel doesnt have free parking for paying customers. So then I had to pay another $48.00 to park my car. Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore Jeffrey, thank you for sharing your comments. Our parking fees are indeed listed on Expedia, and just like with every major East Coast city, there is no free parking at downtown hotels. The hotel neither owns nor manages the parking area, so those fees are mandatory. A deposit is not required unless you choose to pay in cash. We apologize that noise from our renovation--which involves very little construction--resulted in your being awakened early. We anticipate that our renovation will be completed in mid-to-late March, and we invite you to come and experience our new look!

Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore Linda, thank you for sharing your feedback about your recent stay. The hotel is undergoing renovations; however, no construction is taking place. Early on in the project (the renovation kicked off in early December) we have had to do periodic water shut offs to replace valves, and we absolutely understand that a water shutoff can cause significant guest inconvenience, and we apologize. All work including water shutoffs takes place during normal business hours, when a majority of our guests are offsite at work or enjoying the attractions of the Inner Harbor. We invite you to return this coming spring or summer to experience the new look to our hotel. By the end of March, we will feature 203 brand-new guestooms, as well as a new lobby and new public space. Our guestrooms will be completely new--from wall coverings to carpeting to window treatments. "Very disappointing experience"
Our Christmas visit was a total disappointment. This hotel has no business being open during its renovation, which was not disclosed prior to our arrival. We arrived Christmas Eve and our room had no water pressure. We could not shower that evening or on Christmas morning. Our children's room had a toilet that would not stop running. Later that day, […] we all had to switch rooms. The next morning, we received a notice that the water would be on and off all day. The room itself was comfortable but in shabby condition (hence the renovation, I assume). We felt quite duped by the whole experience. We will not return. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Sorry about the tough result vs. the Chargers. We hope that the Ravens earn a playoff berth and a home game in the playoffs, and you return to stay with us to experience the game.
"Hidden jewel near Inner Harbor"
I've stayed at hotels in the area over the last few years and had a pleasant stay. However, I wanted a more indulgent stay. After searching on line the Royal Sonesta rose to the top and for good reason. This grand dame still holds her ol'world charm, but with new age amenities. The rooms are large, the marble bathrooms luxurious and room service is […] top notch. I look forward to my next visit. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

The Royal Sonesta is comfortable and quiet. Beds and bedding are lovely.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore We appreciate the great feedback about the hotel, particularly that the hotel is quiet despite our location right on the Inner Harbor. That's largely due to our unique design featuring a center courtyard. The design results in a hollow square setup on the guest floors, with no rooms located across the hall from any other rooms. Therefore, there is little noise that disturbs guests while they are in the rooms. We hope you will stay with us again soon!
