"Convenient to Inner Harbor"
Enjoyed our two-night stay with short walk to Inner Harbor activities.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore Thank you for taking the time to review the hotel and for highlighting our ideal Inner Harbor location! Just across the street, guests will find the Maryland Science Center, the Visitors Center, and the shops and restaurants of Harborplace. Only a few blocks further are the National Aquarium, Port Discovery Children's Museum, and the Top of the World Baltimore. And of course, just a few blocks behind the hotel are Oriole Park at Camden Yards and M&T Bank Stadium. We are proud to have such a great location to serve as a base for guests who want to explore Charm City!
"Classy hotel close to the harbor"
This hotel was clean, staff was friendly, and recognized me as a VIP Elite member - which gave us an automatic upgrade to a harbor view room (very nice)! The rooms were up-to-date and decent sized. We ate breakfast in the restaurant and it was fabulous - I recommend the zucchini bread French toast. Our (female) server was so nice and friendly - unfortunately […] I did not get her name. The hotel is across the street from the harbor and within walking distance of many restaurants and attractions. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore Amy, Expedia and its affiliates have long been great partners to the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court, and we are always happy to take great care of VIP Elite members! Thank you for highlighting our wonderful location, our amazing staff, and one of the treasures on our Explorers' breakfast menus! We hope you'll return to stay with us again soon.
"Nice hotel overlooking Inner Harbor in need of TLC"
Front desk staff is attentive. Room service is too slow. No HBO or other premium cable Free Internet service. Breakfast is disappointing, e.g., soggy toast, undrinkable coffee. Illy cafe on site has better coffee. In general, maintenance needs to be improved.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore Monica, thank you for your honest feedback. Later this year, we will undergo a complete renovation of our guestrooms and all of our public space, and by the spring we will have a completely new look. We appreciate your feedback about the opportunities in our food & beverage departments and we will address your comments with the team immediately, as of course these are areas where we can demonstrate immediate improvement. We hope you'll choose to return after our renovation is completed!
The hotel is very nice, but is very 1980s traditional nice. The restaurant bar and dining room leave a lot to be desired. The are old, dark and out of the way (on the 2nd floor). The front desk had just one person staffing it, despite it being a sold out holiday weekend. The room was clean with a great view and good bed linens. The decor is not my style […] (Think Laura Ashley circa 1982) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore Steve, thank you for your candid feedback. We agree with your sentiments, and in fact we are planning an exciting makeover to all 195 guestrooms and suites as well as our public space. The project will kick off in December and we expect to have a brand-new look to our entire hotel by March 2015! We hope you'll come back and see us again soon.
"Great location, but that's it"
We chose the Royal Sonesta because of its excellent location and because its expensive rates implied better comfort and quality than its nearby competitors. In the latter regard, we were very disappointed. The room was simply not up to the standard of a hotel in that price range: sparsely furnished with damaged furniture, stained carpeting, and cheap […] bathroom fixtures. The lobby and corridors were freezing cold. We will give the competitors a try on our next visit. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore Alessandro, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are disappointed that you did not enjoy your stay, but we are excited to share great news that will address your comments: by December, we will embark on a multi-million dollar renovation that when completed by early next spring will result in brand-new guestrooms and public space throughout the hotel. We hope you'll come back and give us another try!
Couldn't have asked for a nicer hotel and staff! Made our weekend even more memorable!Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore Preston, we're so happy that our amazing staff helped contribute to a memorable anniversary celebration! We hope you'll be back to see us again, whether it's to go sightseeing on the Inner Harbor or to s[pend your next anniversary with us! Thank you for the great review.
Way too expensive for the overall package.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore We are sorry to read that you were not happy with the value received in comparison to the price you paid. We are pleased that you still had a pleasant experience staying with us, as evidenced by your overall four star rating. Thank you for the headline about our convenient location, as we are in walking distance from Oriole Park at Camden Yards, M&T Bank Stadium, Harborplace, the National Aquarium, the Maryland Science Center, and so much more.
"Hanging out at the Harbor"
Location was great. Directly across from the Harbor, so the evening view was awesome, because we purchased a harbor view room. Parking is not validated, which striuct me as a bit odd, considering the room prices! $26.00 overnight or 8.00 an hour. $36.00 overnight if you choose valet parking? The carpet in my room had big dark spots in it and there are […] no balconies which would have made the view spectacular. I would probably select a different place the next time that is directly on the harbor, as this one was across a very busy street. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore Lynne, thank you for commenting about our great location! We apologize that your stay was not up to par. Please be aware that we are planning a complete property renovation beginning late this autumn that will result in completely new guestrooms. We hope you'll choose to return next year to experience a brand-new property! Regarding the other two issues you've mentioned: parking is charged at all Inner Harbor hotels (we don;t own our parking garage), and none of the hotels at the Inner Harbor have balconies.

Stuck in the hotel for three days in a rain and wind storm. Stayed in the first night and ate at the hotel. We weathered the storm the other two nights.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

We hope you'll be back soon to see us again, because there are so many attractions within easy walking distance of our proeprty such as the National Aquarium, Maryland Science Center, Harborplace, Oriole Park at Camden Yards, and dozens more. "Great location and good service"
Had a nice two day stay with my family. Room service menu was pretty limited. Staff was very helpful and welcoming! Nice room and bath.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore Mark, thank you for taking the time to review the Royal Sonesta. Our grat staff is always willing to go the extra mile, so during your next visit if there's a particular dish you're looking for that you don;t see on the Room Service menu, simply ask us for it. Our culinary team adapts to meet specialized diets (with the world-class Johns Hopkins Hospital nearby, we are used to working with specialty diets) and if we can make it we will! We are glad you enjoyed your spacious guestroom and marble bath (all of our bathrooms feature a flat screen television, by the way!)
"My only complaint"
When checking in, despite informing them a week prior to my arrival that I would need a late check in, they did not have a room with a king bed as reserved. When asked why, I was informed that was the problem when booking my room with a third party like Expedia. They gave me a nice room with two and changed my room to the proper one the next day. Everything […] else was very nice. Just did not like the desk clerk blaming their mistake on Expedia, especially when I called the hotel and confirmed my reservation and late check in. I just chalk it up to an inexperienced desk clerk rather then the hotel policy. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore We really appreciate that we earned a five-star review despite the unfortunate experience at check-in, for which we certainly apologize. Your instincts are absolutely correct: our failure to deliver the king bedded guestroom you reserved has nothing whatsoever to do with your choice to book through Expedia, and for a staff member to suggest that is certainly disappointing. We thank you for bringing this to our attention--we will immediately share your review at our daily pre-shift meetings throughout the next few days to help reinforce our standards. We hope hat because of your overall experience with us, you'll come visit us again soon.
"Great hotel in a great location."
Great view of the harbor. Extremely close to attractions around the harbor including the National Aquarium.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore D, we are glad that our ideal location served as your home away from home during what we hope was a fun visit to the Inner Harbor! Besides the National Aquarium, we are within easy walking distance of Harborplace, the Maryland Science Center, Port Discovery Children's Museum, Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum, Oriole Park at Camden Yards, M&T Bank Stadium, Pier Six Concert Pavilion, an dozens of other great Charm City attractions. We hope you'll be back soon!
"Great Old Style Hotel with a Waterfront View"
Location was excellent for everything at the Baltimore Waterfront, the staff was fantastic. Always saying hello and having a smile. Everything was clean and very comfortable. Some of the furniture was not my style but I cannot hold that against them. I plan on using them again for our next trip down.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Nice hotel near harbor"
Clean room with plenty of space. Close walk to the harbor and other amenities.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore Thank you for the great review highlighting our wonderful location, great housekeeping team, and the ample size of our guestroom (the largest rooms in the Inner Harbor). We hope you'll be back to see us again soon!
Many stains on carpetGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore Thank you for the 4-star review, despite your comments about the condition of the carpet in your guestroom. We are confident that what appeared to be stains is actually dark shadows, as the carpet is beginning to wear and needs replacement. We are in the midst of planning an extensive renovation to our guestrooms, lobby, an meeting space that will address this issue, so please stay tuned to this space for more details as our plans are finalized in the near future. We hope you'll be back.
"would NOT rate it at 4 stars"
this may have once been a 4 star hotel but no longer. the only person who provided service in the hotel was the concierge who was polite and kind. The desk people were rude and abrupt. The door people were lazy, my son was on crutches and they literally watched him push the circular door all the way around with his crutch. we had ordered a rollaway […] bed but were not informed until arrival that it would cost an extra 30$ for one. The hotel was entirely unsympathetic that there were 3 of us (6 foot teen boy ) and would either have to share two doubles or pay the extra for the cot. They also have a confusing parking fee and would do well to put it on paper. I heard them repeating it over and over at the desk and saw the puzzled looks on people's faces. ridiculous that they haven't figured out a visual for that. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore Nan, thank you for your candid feedback. As a result of your review, we are creating an index card that we can hand to guests with detailed information about self parking. It is a nice hotel and I like the pool and bar. It is a nice hotel and I like the pool and bar.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore We're glad that you enjoyed your experience at the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court. So many guests remark that our large indoor pool featuring salt water and a lifeguard on duty is more than what is found at the typical city center hotel. And Explorer's is a Baltimore classic, offering dozens of unique cocktails, and an amazing array of cosmos, martinis, cognacs, and an impressive selection of microbrews and wines. Come visit us again soon!
"Will Come Back to Visit Camden Yard!"
Lodging was adequate... close to the inner harbor. The kids enjoyed the pool and the basketball court. Only true negative: NO HBO! I could not watch Game of Thrones!!!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore Jonathan, thank you for taking the time to review the Royal Sonesta. Our pool is larger than a typical hotel pool and features a dedicated lap lane. Meanwhile, our sport court offers tennis, volleyball, and basketball, all on our rooftop with incredible views of the downtown skyline. Regarding HO, several guests recently have requested HBO, so there is a chance you may see that popular premium channel on our airwaves soon.
"For a love of adventure, like a Wes Anderson film"
From the first hello on the phone when I called, I was impressed by the personal attention and swept away by feeling I had discovered something timeless and unique. Greeted warmly by the bellman and receptionist, my eyes went to a wooden leopard on top of a huge gong outside the Explorer's Club. This hotel bar has life-size elephants and monkeys painted […] perfectly around its walls and local microbrews on tap. Our kids enjoyed juice in a glass goblet. The rooms are cavernous, at least 10' high ceilings, with plenty of room to walk, unpack, play. (The beds were doubles, but still, very comfortable and clean -- reminding me again of travel in a better generation.) The pool is huge by modern hotel standards, with noodles for kids. There's an outdoor tennis court, an indoor squash court (again, for those days when people played squash). Artwork throughout the hotel is classic 19th Century, elevating everyone's experience in addition to having all the modern amenities you look for. Across the (busy) street from Science Museum and Inner Harbor. Can't wait to return to this hotel to have another timeless adventure in Baltimore. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore Chuck, thank you for such a well-thought and detailed review! Since our debut as the Harbor Court Hotel in 1986, we have been known first and foremost our having the absolute highest service levels in Charm City. Our guestrooms average 420 square feet, the size of a small suite in most hotels. And our indoor pool is a real treat, with its 5 foot depth, salt water, and dedicated lap lane. We can't wait to host you for another timeless adventure in Baltimore!

"Old and musty"
Not good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We apologize that our hotel did not live up to expectations. While our property has a classic look and feel that does not suit everyone's taste, we do take painstaking pride in the efforts of our housekeeping and maintenance team to keep the hotel in good working order, and we are disappointed to read that you were not pleased with your accommodations. "Very accommodating friendly staff"
Lovely room. Staff very accommodating , food a bit expensive, hotel close or walking distance to all inner harbor attractionsGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore Karen, thank you for taking the time to review the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court! We are pleased to read that you enjoyed the experience in your guestroom (at 420 square feet, our rooms are the largest in the Inner Harbor) and also that you recognized our amazing staff and our ideal location to so many attractions. We apologize that our food selections are not priced according to your expectations--though with dozens of local and national restaurants within easy walking distance, hopefully this was not a big concern. We hope you'll choose to stay with us again next time you plan a trip to Charm City!
The staff was very courteous. The room was clean, but needed work. Wallpaper was beginning to peel. "Upgraded room with a fabulous view"
It was grand to be right there at the Harbor with restaurants and museums but on a rainy day the indoor pool hit the spotGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore Sue, we are happy to hear that our terrific team was able to upgrade you to a harborview room. These rooms feature floor-to-ceiling bay windows that immerse guests in the Inner Harbor scenery. While it does help on a rainy day that our location is so convenient to the Maryland Science Center, National Aquarium, Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum, Harborplace, and dozens of restaurants, sometimes staying in and enjoying a great indoor pool overlooking Camden Yards and the downtown skyline is the perfect remedy for a rainy day. We look forward to hosting your again soon!
Overall, I would rate this hotel a B. Good location. Parking convenient (but expensive). Hotel somewhat dated but refurbished and looks nice. Room was excellent. With so much feedback about how wonderful our staff is, we take it quite seriously when we learn that a guest was kess than impressed with any one of our team members, and we certainly apologize for your experience. We hope that you'll give us another chance so that you can see that this is not the way we treat our guests. Regarding pricing, like most properties at the Inner Harbor, the Hotel does not own the adjacent parking garage, but rest assured we frequently do pricing surveys to ensure that our parking costs are kept competitive to other hotels in downtown Baltimore

"Perfect location & Amazing Hospitality!"
We enjoyed our stay at Royal Sonestra located across the street from the harbor bay. Sonestra has vintage appeal, WIFI, full gym (weight room, racquetball court, etc) & pool w/ jacuzzi & rooftop terrace w/ sports court, spa massages $80/hr, & amazing hospitality who saw that the room I booked would not be enough for 3 adults & child like the online […] listing assumed so they gave us complimentary harbor view suite! Harbor view at Sonestra overlook the bay & its main attractions -- all walking distance to the mall gallery, Aquarium/Science Museum, Family attractions for kids & restaurants (we ate at Rusty's). It is a pleasant environment to walk around w/ company & frequent camera use. As for the bookings...highly important & comparable to the purpose of traveling to Baltimore (we drove from Oklahoma to enjoy the attractions at Baltimore & surrounding area). The complimentary kingbed suite we received included living area w/ sofas & one side of room had full bed, separate bedroom (ours was kingbed), and most important 2 marble bathrooms. There is both a huge tub & shower in ours, there is also a flatscreen TV infront of the tub. Overall, Royal Sonestra is the best choice if you are there to enjoy Baltimore. "Excellent stay & even better staff!!!!"
The front desk was extremely friendly and always willing to accommodate. They also placed us in a perfect room. We even witnessed a very rude guest walk in front of everyone in line at check-out & interrupt the group in front of us because (she was going to miss her plane) and Johnathan handled the situation in the most professional manner (and I had […] been in customer service for over 10+ years) while telling her she was being rude by interrupting & had to wait till he was done with everyone else. I even left my personal pillow in my room & Cody from Security took the time to check my room & take my information & called me back an hour later to let me know he had found it. "Great location, beautiful hotel."
I recently spent two nights with my two daughters (9 yrs. & 7 yrs.) at the Royal Sonesta Baltimore. We were lucky to find a great deal for the kids' spring intersession. This hotel is very near Harbor Place and the National Aquarium, which we easily walked to and from several times. We called the day of arrival because we would be checking in late and […] everyone was extremely helpful. Valet parking is convenient; however, the self park garage is connected to the hotel right off of Lee St. My daughters had a blast walking up and down the grand staircase in the lobby and thoroughly enjoyed the pool and hot tub! Please note that the entire pool is 5' deep, no gradual entrance, steps yes, but that's it. There were some floating boards and noodles; however, my girls are swimmers so we were fine. The hot tub was a great treat for a tired mommy. The rooms are very large, high ceilings make them feel even larger. The bathroom is a great size as well. We will definitely be staying here again on our next trip to Baltimore! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore We really appreciae your detailed review, Carrie, and we are glad to hear that you and your daughters had such a great time at the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court and in Charm City! "ROYAL SONESTA IN BALTIMORE/FRONT ENTRANCE"
First and Last experience was the only downfall I found with this hotel. Why 1st and last? It involved entering and exiting the dropoff and pickup area at the front entrance. The area could be, should be twice the size it is now. It was so congested you had to backup and pullup, backup and pullup, backup and pullup to get around other cars to get out […] of there! This also means wait, wait, wait until your turn. Really liked the hotel and the staff and the service, but that front entrance sure is a problem that needs correction. Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore Patsy, thank you for your review. We are glad that you enjoyed your experience with us, save for the congestion at the front entrance upon arrival and departure. Our European-style courtyard certainly distinguishes our hotel from the other Inner Harbor hotels, and the courtyard view rooms offer a quiet and serene atmosphere. But we certainly understand that during peak times the courtyard can become congested. We apologize that you did not enjoy the arrival and departure process.
the only thing about it is that you have to pay for parking Atlantic City parking is not as much in the hotels are a lot betterbut the hotel was very excellentGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore We're glad you enjoyed your stay, though we are confused by your reference to Atlantic City. In baltimore as in the other major East Coast cities, there are charges for parking at every hotel. The hotel does not own or manage its parking garage, so unfortunaltey these fees are paid by the guests--however, our parking prices are well within the range of prices at Inner Harbor competitor properties.

Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore Gereon, we certainly apologize that our Concierge and Front Desk teams were not able to find suitable activities for you on short notice. Downtown Baltimore is a great spot for both dining and nightlife, but the nightlife is decidedly more quiet on Sundays, particularly in the winter season. We hope you'll return in the spring or summer when the area is more lively--we will gladly create a customized agenda to maximize your time in our great city.
"Inner Harbor with less stress"
This was the 'overflow' hotel for a conference. I was happy to be here with reasonable parking just across the street (not the hotel's valet parking, which was typically high.) The staff went out of their way to help with questions about the area (e.g. where to buy Brewers cookies-a Baltimore thing.) Only complaint was it was hard to reach the electrical […] outlets to plug in devices, etc. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore Claudia, we are glad you enjoyed staying on the Inner Harbor right in the heart of downtown without necessarily feeling like you were staying downtown. Our private courtyard and location along the Harbor offer a serene retreat that can make you forget that you are staying in the heart of the business district only two blocks from the Baltimore Convention Center.
For a last minute booking, things worked out fine. Hotel had ambience and charm. I read that the rooms were a little dated but that seemed to go with the "charm". Great fitness room and location was great. Staff was VERY pleasant and professional. One downfall - I did not like getting hit with the unexpected high charge for valet parking (overnight). […] I was expecting half of what I was charged. They need to clarify that more. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore Dawn, thank you for staying with us and thank you for taking the time to review the hotel. As with nearly every other hotel downtown, we do not own the onsite parking garage, and our parking rates are competitive with all other Inner Harbor properties. Self parking is available for $26 per night and valet parking is available for $36 per night, plus Baltimore City parking tax. Both options offer unlimited in-and-out privileges until well beyond checkout time. We are glad you enjoyed the ambiance and charm of the hotel, and we hope you'll visit us again soon.
I was upgraded to a corner suite from my Harborview King room. View was amazing, room was very nice. Staff was pleasant and helpful at all times. Overall a great experience for my girlfriend's first visit to Baltimore.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Our kids loved the pool and the hotel. The room was just what we expected with a little more ( need to clean the bathroom better though). We could walk to everything but didn't have any of the city noise. We will stay there againGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore Thank you for your review of the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore! Our indoor pool, offering spectacular views of the downtown skyline, as well as our location within so many great Charm City attractions are definitely two of the "wow" factors at our AAA Four Diamond-rated hotel. We hope you'll return soon, as spring and summer are great times to visit the Inner Harbor!
