"Very friendly and a fair deal!"
Check in was such a pleasure because of the cheerful young lady who made the effort to really make us feel welcome! We ran into a few other employees here and there that all were that way. Kudos to all of them and the management behind it. The pool and large hot tub/sauna were great. The room was just fine for the cost. The location is excellent. I […] have nothing but good things to say about the place. There is a movie theater just a few blocks to the south that was showing a movie we liked. The simple breakfast was fine. The only good thing about this hotel was the free breakfast. The sheets were dirty and had stains on them, there was hair throughout the room that did not belong to anyone I was staying with. The door to the room did not fully shut so you could feel a cold draft from outside. The door actually looked like someone had used a crowbar to pry it opened. […] Would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Room seemed clean, but we found lots of hairs in the sheets. A left over wash cloth in the bathroom. Only enough towls for one day, and no maid service one day. Hot tube was closed one day after skiing, had to sign for towls to use the hot tube. Matress was springy....Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice service, pet friendly"
The staff were very friendly, the location good. The motel itself is older- the rooms open to the outside, the bedspreads and carpet are older. It is a great place for a night or two, but I wouldn't recommend for an extended vacation stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
For a busy season in Taos, we felt lucky to get a room here. It's on the noisy side, breakfast area crowded and hard to get a seat, but guests are good-humored and everybody eager to get out, so that's tolerable. What put us over the edge was the bathroom--when I turned on the shower, the faucet, already pulled out of the wall, sent shoots of water […] in both directions and the pipe connecting to the toilet tank started leaking. The tub plug was half-way down, meaning water accumulated inches deep for the shower but wouldn't hold for a bath. To be sure, a friendly volunteer sent by the desk managed to solve the problem. The faucet is still loose, though, so it might not be a real fix. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Whitten Inn - Rude staff"
Very rude staff. Check in was 3pm but we didn't get in the room until 4:30pm. Staff could care less. This is a cheap motel in Taos. Not worth the money we spent for the night. Find a different place to stay!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Needs a supervisor"
We had reservations and the check in still took over 30 minutes. I reserved 2 rooms at the same time and used the same credit card to pay for both; when we got there the rooms were several doors away because "they didn't' know we were together"…really! The sink was so stained it was impossible to see if it was dirty or chipped. The carpet was dirty […] and there was a loud "crack head" that stayed next door and ran up and down the walk way all hours of the night. We contacted the front desk and they did nothing. Needless to say the stay was not favorable and I would NOT stay there again unless it was literally my only option. Most definitely not worth the money!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Ok for a quick stay"
The hotel reception, location and breakfast was good. However the water in the sink and shower was clogged. Had a hard time taking shower. I wish that was corrected, otherwise the hotel was good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"friendly service. okay hotel."
The staff was really friendly and helpful, but the rooms were okay. We had to switch rooms due to the condition. The second room was okay didn't seem all that clean the hotel seems up dated but it definitely needs more work, the shower drain was clogged. Would I stay there again?..... I would look some where else first.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room was somewhat small and the facility is older, but it was clean. The location is convenient.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Missed the Mark"
The hotel was centrally located in Taos and check-in went well. Upon arriving at the room it was apparent that the furnishings were not updated and the maintenance was sloppy. The bathroom shower was locked in a fixed position and the ceiling was drop-down office tiles. The caulking in the bathroom appeared to be smeared in most places and the painted […] walls were poorly completed. The king mattress was unbearable and was worn out which led to a very poor sleeping night. I would rate this hotel below that of a Motel 6. Not recommended at all. "Whitten taos stay"
The stay was great but the coffee maker in the room had to be cleaned before I could use it as it had old coffee ground bags dried up in it as well as the pot was filthy. The tile flooring needed to be swept also.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Our stay way very nice. the only problem was, the swimming pool. It was not in use, because the water was very cold..We chose the hotel because of the indoor pool.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We were fully satisfied with the services. Would stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The liquid soap dispenser with one soap for all purposes was a surprise and very disappointing. Not a high-end hotel, for sure, but even the least expensive provide small bottles of shampoo, rinse and bars of soap.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I enjoyed my stay - breakfast was excellent. Room service was not great. The microwave was not cleaned on Saturday after we had used it on Friday night. Also the wash basin should have been replaced. The girls on reception were most helpful. I would stay there again for the convenience but would suggest updating the rooms and paying more attention to […] the maintenance. I am gifted at seeing the details which most people overlook. When I next stay there, I would like a free room and I shall give you a detailed review of the hotel and where it needs to improve the maintenance and cleanliness etc! "You Get What You Pay For"
Whitten Inn is truly a "motel" near downtown Taos. Our room was neat, clean but outdated. The rugs could use a cleaning, bathrooms could use vents and repairs, the heater was noisy and very drying. The outside was a bit drab and the pretty planters scattered about all had dead flowers. I should have done more research which would have told me that pets […] were welcome at the Whitten Inn. We heard dogs barking on occasion and it made the rooms seem a little less clean. That being said, it is what it is. We felt safe and comfortable. We were visiting family so we really only slept and showered there. Breakfasts were convenient and enough to get our day going. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Pretty good place. Staff is friendly and helpful. But they didn't replace the soap in the shower (it is a dispenser) so it was pretty awkward to get clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Spent 2 nights here on a weekend get away with friends. Felt I got a good room for reasonable price. Room was clean and quiet; hotel staff were courteous. Continental breakfast was about as expected --- OK, some room for improvement there.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel was suitable for our needs for this trip. Hotel was not the destination.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Girls trip for Taos Wool Festival and room was perfect for our needs, very affordableGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The staff were incredibly friendly. The room was outstanding. The facility had the true feel of Taos. The breakfast was great too- it wasn't just hot water and oatmeal. There were pastries, bread for toasting, cereal, oatmeal, oj, fruit, fresh made waffles and more!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"A nice basic hotel"
Stayed two nights with two friends while visiting the area. The checkin personnel were very helpful. The tub didn't drain the first morning, but it was fixed that day. They want to make things right!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Wouldn't be my first choice when I come back."
After a long drive and fun day on the square we decided to stay the night in Taos. This hotel had an ok rating on Expedia and we decided to give it a try for the price. The first room we were given had not been cleaned and beer and soda cans were laying around, we were told the people hadn't checked out. Then don't rebook the room! The next room we […] were given the key wouldn't open the door and after two trips back to the desk to get new keys we finally got in. The stench was horrible, a very musty sprayed kind of smell like cigarette smoke was trying to be covered up. The carpet was tearing away from the walls in places too. I refused to stay in it. The next room they gave us was an upgrade king with hot tub in room. Very fresh clean smelling room and we were not charged for the upgrade. Relaxed the travel away in the hot tub but spent a restless night on the too soft bed. Staff was great though, especially Melissa. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"close to all-very convienient"
we couldn't have been more satisfied! front hotel staff was supurb--always greeted us with a smile and answered all of questions without hesitation. the housekeeping personnel were supurb as well..When we left our room, it was pretty bad with our belongings scattered all about-BUT-houskeeping made it look like nowone was ever in the room. Thank you […] so much. great job. There was continental breakfast every moorning and good as well. Then there was a large indoor heated swimming pool and hottub. It was fantastic to say the least! I certainly recommend the Inn to all. Thanks so much- very happy with all. Hope to see you again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Friendly staff, good amenities"
The staff was very friendly and helpful to myself and my parents. Pool and spa are large and clean. Breakfast was pretty good. Waffles, cereal, some fruit, and English muffins and toast.Genuine Expedia guest review
The rooms are in very good repair and seem to be newly painted. Our room had a beautiful view of the Taos mountains. We stayed 2 nights. The only complaint I had was that the rooms were not cleaned after our first night - trash wasn't emptied, though the beds were made. Maybe they were short-staffed because it was Labor Day? Still...Genuine Expedia guest review
"THe check in staff & desk personnel are wonderful"
The desk personnel are great, the problem is the cleaning staff. They came by first thing in the morning and took our dirty towels etc. but forgot to come back at all. After a busy day we came back to a room that had not been cleaned and towels had not been replenished. We were in a group and two out of three of us had not had any cleaning service. […] They claimed we had NOT put up the please clean sign... (ALL OF US?????) The desk staff promptly responded with clean towels and were very willing to look into the situation. The Reponsible personnel were "talked to". Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good Motel for Overnighting"
The room was relatively clean and orderly. Some wear was evident with carpets and bedding. Bathroom was clean and well supplied. There were working refrigerator and microwave appliances in the room. Breakfast lacked eggs and meat. It was a good price for the product that I received.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This is near the plaza and near a grocery store. There is in-room mini-fridge and a microwave. It is an average motel room with small table and two chairs, two queens, and a shower/tub combo. It was kept clean. There is also an indoor pool and hot tub. There is nothing special about this place but it is fine for the budget conscious traveler.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Lost some of my things"

"Ok for Taos"
Room not quite as clean as it could be. Shower curtain smelled moldy, no lotion or shampoo in room. Noisy, could hear everything going on outside.Genuine Expedia guest review
Our second time to stay In your establishment. Comfortable and close to shopping and restaurant.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The staff was friendly and the room was clean. It was a bit noisy with lots of traffic noise.Genuine Expedia guest review
I've stayed at a lot better places, and a few worse places. Was clean enough, everything worked. Nothing moldy or disgusting. Staff was ok. Not rude, but not overly motivated. Breakfast needed more proteins - boiled eggs, yogurt, etc Was just OK. If I was in town I would consider staying here if nothing else was available.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Clean, inexpensive, & friendly"
We spent several nights in a first class hotel that was four times what we spent here. While those hotels are luxurious & great if you want all the extra amenities you pay for, we just wanted a nice clean inexpensive place for the night. Whitten fit the bill beautifully.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Motel needs maintenance"
This motel is old and needs some maintenance. The shower valves were almost impossible to adjust so that you could get warm water for a shower. The toilet didn't refill after use, so you had to take the tank lid off and wiggle the tank insides to get the toilet to refill so that you could flush the toilet. The beds were hard for us, although we were […] traveling with family that thought the beds were fine. The walls were thin and we could hear our neighbors talking. I would not recommend this motel. The room was adequate. Nothing spectacular. There was no coffee provided but there was a coffee machine in the room. We were mainly there just to sleep. Did not check out the breakfast or the poolGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not a good place if there are other options"
This was supposed to be a non-smoking room, but cigarette odor permeated everything. The bathroom tile grout was mildewed. The ice bucket and trash cans were dirty, but what do you expect--there were no liners in any of them and none available. The freezer in the mini refrigerator was so full of frost build-up that we couldn't get our cold packs into […] it. Total impression: This is not an establishment that cares much about making a good impression. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Considering age of hotel, very clean and comfortable. Electrical rigging was a bit overworked, but that is due to age. They were very pleasant and for the money, we were quite happy with it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
