Whiskers and other hairs in sink, loads of different people's hair on the floor. Hopefully the cleaning staff just missed it that once, and it's not a regular problem.

Hotel is run-down and creepy, even for economy lodging. While the room was clean enough, it was very outdated, dark, noisy fan in bathroom, not enough bedding, flat/old pillows, sticky feeling furniture, and super icky pool area. It appears they are painting the ceiling and beams in the large pool area, so maybe this hotel is attempting to improve it's […] appearance. Room didn't have a welcome booklet with any info about our stay, but there didn't appear to be continental breakfast available which I'm used to all economy and family hotels having. My daughter said...Wow..We are staying here??? (Happy tone..) The price was great and the amenities were better than expected! I prepared her for a little pool and the pool was a nice size and the hot tub even nicer for me after our long bike ride that day! After reading (and laughing uncontrollably) the reviews of this hotel I did not know what to expect. It is indeed an old HoJo as one can immediately tell from the outside. The user agreement needs to be signed within 10 minutes of arrival (I guess to limit the possibility of finding faults and staying somewhere else). But honestly, it wasn't bad at […] all. The room was clean, the beds were old, mattresses were adequate, sheets were clean, comforter was lame, TV was BIG as in not flat screen, and the lights worked :). The heater was horrible with only two settings Lo and High but not high enough and loud. The bathroom was usable but old with toilet holder pulling away from the wall, old shower, and poor fit and finish of construction. BUT HERE IS THE GOOD PART!!!! We had four kids and though we couldn't use the pool (they were probably claiming it needed maintenance when really they just didn't want the expense of heating it) the hot tub was awesome being nearly 16ft long and 8ft wide. Like a mini pool but heated. The whole pool area was huge and had a dance floor for John Travolta fans. The breakfast buffet was good with donuts, Belgian waffles, cereal, bagels and cream cheese. We high tailed it out of there as fast as we could after breakfast but never felt it necessary to turn yelling profanities. We would stay here again for an overnight but not a vacation. Read more

Well...the other reviews said it wasn't too clean but it was cheap. That sums it up. Is it really sad that for fun on my second night I bought spray shower cleaner with bleach just to see if it would take the mold off the grout? It is sad. And it did take the mold off. I was tempted to leave it for the cleaning group. I am doing training in the Benton […] Harbor area so I visit every week. I'm slowly going through all the hotels in the area. Though my stay was only for 1 evening, I thought thev service was terrible. The rooms were not very accommodating at all. No ironing board, nor iron or microwave was in the room. The hotel was nice, and the rooms were clean. First time we used the shower it ran hot, then cold. But it was fine after that. Breakfast is good, but not much more than continental with oatmeal and waffles the main hot items. The hotel is right off I-94 and near several fast food restaurants and two malls. Price was right for the trip we did.

Our room was clean enough and the water was nice. But there was water damage above the shower and rusty pipes along the wall toward the pool. The hallway was beyond scary! Cloth living room recliner chairs in the pool area! Never seen anything like it. Can only imagine how much mold would be growing inside those chairs, yuck! Bathroom floor had permanent dirty footprints from workboots. Nonskid surface had permanent dirt stuck to it. Beds were very comfortable. Only 3 very flat pillows on a king size bed. Front desk did […] give me another flat pillow when I asked. The day staff was very nice and did their best. The evening staff was rude. We stayed here instead of the recommended more expensive hotels in South Haven which cost 3x as much. Since we were just coming here for one night only and just to shower before a wedding and sleep and check out first thing the next morning, it was ok for us. This hotel is the worst thing I have every seen. I booked a 2 star hotel unpublished rate and was very upset with the hotel I got. I checked in the room and took one look and knew I would not be staying there with my 2 year old daughter. We decided to drive back home 2 and a half hours away.

I booked this hotel for a big event in Benton Harbor. Because of the size of the event, every place was booked except for another option that was significantly more expensive. I was apprehensive at first based on the reviews. However I didn't think it was nearly as bad as some have stated. Maybe their rooms really were awful and mine was one of the […] better ones. Although it definitely isn't the newest or most beautiful place, I have stayed at super 8 motels that felt less clean. This hotel should be condemned. It was old, dirty and smelled. It certainly has not been renovated as the description stated. There were rusty/water stains on the ceiling in our room, furniture was old and scratched up -- very dingy. This hotel has easy access from I-94, drive way was difficult to locate. Many fast food places close, gas stations close and convenience stores with easy access. Our check in went quickly and efficiently. No difficulty with our room being booked online and pre-paid. Initially the smell was the most noticeable, very strong odor of chlorine from the pool […] through out. We arrived at 10 pm so we did not access the pool area nor did we look around the hotel. The elevator appeared very old, the entire hotel was extremely dated. Beds were hard, my daughter woke with a back ache and there was something on the sheets on the bed I was in, appeared to be paint, vomit....not too sure. Bathroom was nicely stocked and relatively clean, but there was food crumbs and appeared to be paint chips behind the night stand between the beds. There is a restaurant inside next to the check in desk but we chose not to use the complimentary breakfast just because we were going other places. For the price it was overall not a bad stay. We didn't have a problem with the motel, but then we were there for a vacation of the area not to evaluate a room. So for us its one of our favorite places to vacation. I just love it here. I could understand if you stayed in your room all the time you might not like it as well .
