The hotel was very nice as I expected. But the bathroom had an old water smell, the air conditioning never really cooled the room down (despite being set on 65), the heavy drapes did not close past about 2-3 feet (so the morning sunlight was strong and annoying). "Good hotel for the value and cost"
During the course of my stay at this hotel, I honestly had a very pleasing time at this Westin branded hotel. Amongst the many requests that I had, including room upgrades, the staff and customer service to correspond was excellent. The overall appearance of the hotel from an outside viewpoint was very appealing; as for the interior I could same the […] same definitely for the reception level as well as for the floor dedicated to the business halls. However, the carpeting on the floors above the two main floors, were showing signs of extreme old age and wear and tear. (Just as a reminder, the hotel will be undergoing major renovations in the coming month of August. They do have show rooms for viewing of the newly renovated looking rooms.) Everything from the Touch Express Service (i.e. room service), reservation line, and front desk operator servicing was phenomenal. Since I did request a room change I was able to tell the difference from the room types, like the Deluxe King and Traditional King are very similar in size and amenities, but when you upgrade to something like the Junior Suite not only do you receive more amenities like toiletries but also you get much more space and a gorgeous three-pane window that has pretty good views. It was my mother's first time in Atlanta and we stayed at the Westin Perimeter. We were accommodated with an early check in with a great view. The hotel was continually busy with meetings and weddings, but in no way did this create a noisy or chaotic environment once we were out of the lobby. The lobby smelled great and the staff really was excellent. They greeted me whenever I was downstairs and were very helpful in getting me to places I needed to go through the shuttle. When I was disappointed with the location of my first room they quickly found me another one on a different floor. The room furniture was very old and the entire room was very dusty! I stayed at the Westin Hotel located at 7 Concourse Pkwy NE in Atlanta Ga. from 6/14/2013 through 6/17/2013. On the afternoon of 6/16/2013 I returned to my room and noticed my room had not been cleaned. I went to the housekeeper who was cleaning the room next door to ours and ask her […] if she would please clean my room and change the linen and clean towels. She ask me to contact front desk. I immediately called front desk and let them know I wanted fresh clean sheets on my bed because my wife had makeup stains on the bed from the night before. Front desk said my room would be next to be cleaned. My spouse and I left the room for 1 hr. allowing housekeeping time to clean the room. I also placed the "going green" card on the bed which indicates fresh linen is requested. When I returned to the room I had fresh towels, the bed was made but the bed had the same dirty sheets on the bed. I immediately called front desk to let them know that although my bed was made, she sheets had not been changed. I spoke with hotel management who assured me that the sheets had been changed. I let him know that the makeup stains were still on the sheets therefore they could not have been changed. Hotel management did not seem too concerned. "Not what I expected for a Westin"
I hesitated to write this review, but I feel that someone really needs to be forthright about the condition of this property. As one reviewer stated, the actual rooms are nothing like the pictures on Expedia's website. When I arrived at the hotel, I was impressed with what I could see of the grounds. Likewise, the lobby was pleasing - clean and inviting, […] with many business travelers lounging there. The front desk staff was very pleasant, too. I thought I'd gotten a real steal of a deal...until I walked into my room. I immediately knew something was wrong. There was a damp, musty smell in the room that reminded me of mildew or old carpet. I walked farther into the room and looked around in disbelief. The desk (which did not seem to even belong in the room) was warped from water stains or something. Likewise, the nightstand had the same warping. The upholstered chair near the window just did not look clean. The vent covering the a/c and heating unit was not secured to the wall. There louvered closet door had a whole in it. The bathroom had some dark stains on the floor. The furnishings were subpar. Just disappointing. I called the front desk and explained that I expected better and that this was not in keeping with the Westin/Starwood name. The front desk person was very nice and accommodating. We chose this hotel because we love the Westin brand hotel. However, this was not the hotel we were use to. The room was small and the guest were very loud. The staff were very professionally dressed and handled our reservation well. However, the workout gym was small and the equipment was in poor condition; the main piece of gym equipment was "out […] of order". We have decided to abandon the Westin brand because this chain does not offer free Wi-Fi, even the Red Roof in offers free coffee and internet. "Pretty dumpy for the price"
