We were in our room on the second night when someone entered our room who was not in our group. The hotel had double booked our room. They were going to move us to another room until I showed my booking slip where I had prepaid for the room. They then assigned the other customers to another room.

Came here for FL/GA weekend. This hotel is about what you would expect out of an Econolodge. The surrounding area isn't too nice looking, but there was nothing that suggested it was unsafe. My husband and I were on our way to Jacksonville Florida To see a comedy show at a local venue. We decided to stay the night in the city and enjoy a night away. We booked the hotel on the way down. The pictures LIED on the website and I would like to share the ones that I took, including the one of the dead roach next to the toilet in our room. There […] was a pet hotel next door that was far nicer then the Econo Lodge except the dogs barked all night long. My husband is in the United States Army and we have stayed in a lot of hotels around the world, and this by far was the WORSE. We both suffer from allergies severely so we reserved a non-smoking room, well the room had cigarette burns throughout and the smell of smoke was poorly covered up with cleaner. The air conditioning was a sad excuse for an air conditioner it was more like a smelly air circulator. I called to find where the ice machine was, after being directed to the second floor half way across the hotel the ice machine spit out literally seven tiny cubes. Earlier that week my husband and I watched the CEO of Choice Hotels go undercover on “Undercover Bosses” television show, he should have visited this dump staffed with inconsiderate people, maybe in their home country running an establishment like this is acceptable but not in ours and Choice Hotels should be ashamed. This was the first time me and my family stayed at this hotel. The biggest mistake we made was being in a hurry and booking online without reading the reviews first. The customer service at the front desk and at the breakfast bar was wonderful, you couldn't ask for better staff but the room was a big disappointment. We only booked this room because […] our usual hotel we always stay in was unavailable for that night. We saw strange looking people hanging outside their room doors shortly after we checked in. The room smelled like a smoking room in which someone sprayed a ton of air freshner to hide the stinch. My husband had to fix the toilet in order for the toilet handle to flush. One of our children found a roach over their head on the ceiling and one of our beds had cigarette holes in the sheets. The a/c was the worst thing. It took almost 4 hours to cool the room enough just so we could finally go to sleep. The queen size beds seemed a little smaller than usual too. But overall, there is absolutely nothing we can say that was good about the room. We tried to sleep in but there were people hanging around our room door early in the morning having long conversations. It appears alot of people actually live at this hotel. This wasn't a good experience at all for us an our young children. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again, even if it were $19.99 per night and I know we paid far too much just for our most recent stay there. Read more

The manager here is very unprofessional and his customer service is sub par to say the least. He will yell and curse at you if you use more than one bucket of ice from the machine. The hotel was run down and many things needed repair in the room. The television would not turn on and the A/C would only blow cool air, not cold. The room was clean though. The breakfast was okay and sparse as expected. However, the management would not make a pot of decaf coffee for the decaf container they put out. The hotel was not bad at all, the only thing i could complain about is that the non smoking room had a little of a 'wet' clothes left in the washer overnight kind of smell. Also, the breakfast was not breakfast, it was toast, gas station danishes, orange juice, coffee, and three types of cereal. This EconoLodge is in an area that has seen better days, but it's one of three motels on the same street, all of which are struggling to keep up appearances. The good part is the cleanliness - the room and the breakfast area were spotless as were the grounds. The stairwells were bad - trash on the floors (dirty Q-tips, dropped food) and the handrails […] were sticky. The phone in the room was flashing when we checked in and neither we nor the maintenance guy could get it turned off, so we unplugged it. The bed is on the ultra-firm side, a little too ultra-firm to make my back happy, which made my mood uuuugly by the morning we left.
