"Charming...if you like herpes."

From the minute I stepped into the hotel, I knew my experience would be a bad one. The woman at the front desk barked "Do you have a reservation?" before my foot was even through the door. No "Good evening", or "How are you today?". Turns out, the world-famous Colby Bluegrass Festival was happening that weekend, and the Quality Inn Colby was hopping. Luckily, I did have a reservation, which seemed to displease the Baroness of the Front Desk. The walls of the Quality Inn are paper thin, and please don't expect to get a seat at the "ahem" Continental breakfast. For a hotel of 200 people, there are approximately 12 seats in the dining area. I will say this - the Quality Inn Colby got 2/3 of their name right. It's an inn, and it's in Colby - but not so fast on the quality part.

Big breakfast. Food's not the best but ok. Indoor pool with kiddy pool. Kids loved it. Beds weren't bad. Only real problem with the room was that it was old. Some poor kid lost a pacifier under the bed. Employees were really nice. I don't think I'd stay here again. Usually the devil you know is better but I think I'd rather try something else. It was not worth the price.

Staff was kind and helpful. However that was the only thing good about my stay. The room had numerous spills on the worn carpet. Single chair in room was well worn and stained heavily. Shower head was a cobbled together tub faucet with a shower sprayer taped on. Washcloths were damp like they weren't dried throughly before placement in room. I would not recommend this hotel at all. Stay elsewhere even if you have to drive to another state.

The staff was fairly friendly and helpful considering we checked in at 1:00 am, but the hotel seemed a little run down and not what I was expexcting from other reviews.
