Clean tidy. A little wear and tear but manageable. Extremely good customer service. Very polite. They even brought a microwave to our room to heat milk for our youngest.

Hotel was renovated older facility with some maintenance issues. Some mold in the bathroom tile grout, all the instructions wiped off AC unit, hot water takes forever to get to sinks and old musty stairwells. For exactly the same price you can stay at one of the new suite hotels off the 101 freeway. Trade off is you can't walk to downtown from those. […] This was not first stay in SLO and in the hotels in this more convenient neighborhood. From that past experience this is about the same or even better than others in this price range. So your choices are pay more or be at a less convenient location or live with compromise. They used to have in-room movies but for some reason they discontinued it. TV had limited channels (I.e. no Syfy) to boot. Neighborhood was noisy and sound carries through walls and from outside (loud music from nearby apartment). Worst was the stench Sunday morning in the hallway and lobby. They wouldn't let us check in before 3PM (as if ALL the rooms are finished cleaning at the same time). Our wedding was at 4pm, so that doens't leave much time for myself and my girlfriend to get ready. It took forever to get a cab (but we should have called earlier i guess?). I feel bad for the guy at the desk while we were waiting for our cab...he […] prepaid for a 2 queen room, but the hotel overbooked and could only offer him a 1 king room. They don't offer cots or roll aways, just blankets and pillows. Looks like he and his buddy will be cuddling all night...It was just TOO MUCH to pay for that quality. If you are thinking about booking here, do yourself a favor and spend an extra $20/night and go to the Madonna Inn or anywhere else. Read more

It would be nice if the hotel had a shuttle service to and from the Amtrak depot. No taxis at the depot, so we had a 13-block walk in 80-degree heat and humidity. I know this is not a new hotel; but I guess it is time for them to renew entire hotel. We have 2 kids(2y&8y) and came here as our family trip. We were relatively quiet, but we had to walk like a mouse during our stay, since we were told to be quiet. If you come here with younger kids, you may want to consider to stay at other hotel.

Great hotel and very friendly service. Arrived late but no problem confirming a late check-in. Just a quick overnight but evening and morning front desk people were very helpfuil and friendly. The morning free breakfast buffet was a great way to start the day. Very close to the university in town. Would definately stay here again.

The hotel was very nice and in a perfect location to meet my daughter who is attending Cal Poly. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make me feel important and comfortable. The beds were comfortable and the rooms very clean. I would stay there again.

This hotel is quite large and the rooms most distance from the lobby (like ours) had a weak to non-existent wireless Internet connection. I had to sit in the lobby each time I wanted to use my laptop.
