Cleanest hotel we've ever stayed at!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I was upset during check out, because they told me they were going to keep 30 of my deposit because I had gotten make up on the sheets. Now, I have stayed in many hotels and being a woman sometimes I fall asleep with my make up on. And I wash my sheets at home with no issue of removing any trace of make up. So was angered and offered to take the sheets […] clean them myself and I would like to be paid for the work and 30 of my deposit back. They ended up refunding the 30 after quite a while of back and forth. The lady first handed me a card and told me it was the managers number and if I would like to speak with her call me number, So I did and it rang right to the same lady who gave me the card. But all was fine once I received my deposit back. The rooms were quite cleanly. Only thing is I was sleeping and the cleaning woman was knocking I asked her to go away, yet she came in anyway, I once more said no. And she just said something about ill just get the towels.. So I guess you can say they are thorough with cleanliness haha. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Ramada-good location, thats about it"
The location of ths hotel is good--it is close to lots of the main attractions in San Diego and easily accessible from the freeway. We liked that the parking was free, but overall the condition of the hotel was rather poor. Our hotel room was in the building located at the back of the property--the door to get into the hotel was surrounded by flies, […] possibly due to the garbage can right by the door being full of trash, but this was rather offputting. Our room was right by the door into the building, as well as the pool and parking lot so there was constant noise all day and night. Also, the room itself was not very clean, the furnishings were very old and had seen better days, and for some reason all the pillows on the bed were about half the size of normal pillows which was odd. Even for an affordable hotel, we will not be staying at this Ramada again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Hotel really needs a face lift; wall paper peeling in room and public spaces. Many tour groups stay here but very quite. Breakfast room very busy, the layout was awkward but variety OK. The first room we got the bed was broken and the remote didn't work the second room we got the remote didn't work they came to fix it and couldn't and refuse to change us rooms again. The staff was friendly and for the money it would have been a bargain except the floors are thin. I was on 3rd floor and had a group above me that walked around until 3am for three mornings. Anyway, if you can get on top floor it is a steal. If not then take some earplugs or turn your TV up like I did.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Love the complementary breakfast, price reasonable"
I always stay at this hotel when going to San Diego for vacation. I always look for hotels that have complementary breakfast and this one has one. Another plus is the nice large parking area if you bring a boat or a trailer with […] you. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is not close to downtoun but has a location that permit go anywhere, very nice and clean rooms and the room service is good. Quiet and plenty of parking area. "Such a blessing"
I was in San Diego for my buddy's wedding. We booked our flights and hotel through another travel site. The hotel I chose through them was not what was pictures and we were very unhappy so we had to move. So we drove around trying to find another hotel with no luck. We used the hotels.com app on my smart phone and found a great deal at the Ramada Plaza. […] It was very affordable and perfect for a last minute choice. I do have a complaint, we were never informed that there would be a deposit for the room which took away my spending money, need to let people know this, Also I looked at my bank account and they took another 2.69 out and I do not know why, because we left the room trash free and hung up all the towels, I would like to know why! Other than that it was […] easy to find and the price of the room was good. It was easy to get to places where we needed to go, please let me know why that money was taken out, it should of never happened, it should be put back on my account before I would stay there again. "Ramada Hotel San Diego"
Carpeting in hallway was filthy. Room was clean. They've put motion sensors in the rooms, but leave the light and fan on in the bathroom (kind of self-defeating). Breakfast was minimal, but there is a nice diner next door with full service breakfast. Parking was adequate. Room was quiet. One security door was left open--not sure of the purpose of the […] door in relation to the word security. There are a number of hotels in the Hotel Circle area in the same price range that I would not necessarily stay at this Ramada. It was just OK. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Worst facility I've ever stayed in."
The staff were nice and accomodating, however, the common areas were the dirtiest, smelliest, seediest that I've ever experienced (I am ret. airline and I've stayed in hundreds of hotels). Our first room although clean stunk to high heaven. This is an "old hotel" smell. This facility needs to be torn down and rebuilt. "Ramada Plaza Hotel Circle San Diego"
An older hotel, but we were pleasantly surprised with the service, general cleanliness, and location. Staff we came in contact with were amenable, and open to questions. The continental breakfast was o.k.: a bagel, fresh fruit and cereal being all we needed, but there were also those ubiquitous hotel diy waffles, too sweet for our taste, but apparently […] popular with other guests. Close proximity to many other restaurants, Old Town, and both highway 5 and 8 made life much easier for us. This was a great pre-cruise choice, priced at a reasonable level. Not a 5 star by any means, but great for the pocketbook. Although Hotel Circle has many choices for lodging, some much newer and fancier (and pricier) we would recommend highly. "adequate, but a bit dingy"
The place is okay. It just feels tired and unkept. If being located in Hotel Circle works for you, then the location is fine. But get a room toward the back. "Ramada Hotel Circle, San Diego"
Very inexpensive for San Diego, large hotel/motel complex on busy hotel circle. Easy access to major freeways. Average sized room packed with furniture, etc. - table and desk, refrigerator and microwave, coffee service, etc. Shower curtain rod improperly installed made it impossible to take a shower without also showering the floor. Breakfast room could […] use improved layout to more efficiently offer food and drink. Room was clean but hallways and stairwells needed attention. Great location as all hotels in Hotel Circle are. Clean room. However hotel is in need of repair. My first impression of the hotel was that is was not bad for the price we got it for. I was wrong. Our sink kept backing up and we called to have it fixed. They came in looked and said it was the main drain and then did nothing about it as it continued to be an issue. We returned to our room one afternoon and the whole floor smelled and our room was […] the worst. They put some stuff down our sink and got it all over my stuff and didn't bother to clean it up. "Stay at Ramada Plaza from Aussie Traveller"
I found overall the Hotel amenities quite good, although the Hotel does need a refurbishment and appears to be underway with that in a staged manner. Apart from the above the staff were attentive, courteous and helpful. The Fitness Room was good and front of house staff were helpful with directions and information on San Diego and the Mission Valley […] area. Ricky's next door was a welcome to the complimentary breakfast at Ramada so choice was close at hand. What I found difficult had nothing to do with the Hotel. It is more about the whole Hotel Circle area and the fact that as a Tourist it is not easy to access - bit that presents a wider problem for San Diego County. The upgrade of road networks is so like unravelling spaghetti wire in the area that I cannot see. It happening, as well the Gaslamp area is too built up now to take on more accommodation. It presents a planning problem to San Diego. I suggest some Research and Development into upgrading the whole accommodation concept and perhaps look at some future developments that. Take into account more aesthetic boutique properties- perhaps by the sea and promote them heavily in Australia and Europe. People are much more at home with that. Online Villas are outrageously overpriced in San Diego and must be unoccupied most of the year as no-one is going to pay $3.5 k a well when you can go the. Florida Keys in Winter and find bungalow accom for $800 to $1.5k per week. I know where I would rather be. Crime seems to be a worry here. About 6 murders in a week. That will not turn tourists on at all! No cabs on NYE after 10pm, could not even book, so I had to hitch 10 miles back to my Hotel. Hotel Circle for Tourist Safety needs a courtesy coach for guest safety that can be booked as well and can be user pays on a as and when required basis. I got back to my Hotel, but as I had no alternate modes of transport on NYE, I well could have been te. Seventh person murdered. "We've had better!"
Unfortunately our stay was a disappointment. I read up on the reviews on this location and the only part that holds true was the Free WiFi, amazing Free Breakfast and the Central Location. Unfortunately the rooms were far below our standards. We arrived to check-in and the hotel had us booked for a double bed room when we specifically requested a single […] King Bed on the hotels.com checkbox as well as in the comments section. They did kindly reassigned us but unfortunately to a bad room. Our room was FREEZING all night, and the heater was broken. There were only sheets on our bed, No comforter and No extra blankets. The light switch was broken and the Smoke detector went out the first night beeping Loudly every 30 seconds starting at 3am!!! We finally got someone to come out and fix it to get it to turn off. Then there was the fact that the main door to exit the building was directly next to our room, and was slamming open and closed all night as people came and went at all hours of the night. The sad part is my boyfriend mentioned he had been in Motel 6's that were cleaner than our room. I do not plan on staying in a Ramada again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Run Down all around"
This hotel was our top pick because of its proximity to sea world and the zoo, but its appearance was less than desirable. My wife and I were very disappointed. We were in room 238 in the back building. When we entered the room there is no light switch that if activated would allow you to see instead of groping around in the dark. Apparently there is what looks like a motion detctor, however if it is it does not work. Howevr there is a motion detector next to the sink and […] it works. That sink takes along, long time to drain. To enter the building the outside doors require the use of one's room key (card). However, during most of our stay the entrance door could not be opened. Could not even be opened from the inside which I believe is SAFETY HASARD if the building had to be evacuated. Sometimesas a result of this problem the door was left opene (proped open) So much for your sign that says that key entry was for security and saftey of your patrons. We got a decent rate and took it. The main website claims rooms have refrigerators and so did the reservation details, but we got put in a room without one - and it was also missing the TV remote and the bath vent didn't work.
