"Lovely hotel"

This hotel exceeded our expectations in that it was beautifully appointed, well-located, very clean, and comfortable. The surprise was a nice restaurant/bar on the second floor at which we enjoyed cocktails and appetizers before and after the symphony concert that evening. Would definitely recommend.

Overall this hotel was great. We were there for the state cheerleading competition and this hotel was centrally located near the event. We were able to take the skywalk to our event and back to the hotel. Parking was free on the side streets over the weekend - which was nice. We were lucky and got a fairly close parking spot. The food at the hotel resturant was excellent - a little pricey - but still excellent. We will definitely come again.

The Marriot downtown Des Moines exceeded our expectations! The staff was super friendly and helpful from a speedy check in to an over the top shuttle driver. Our room was clean and smelled fresh and the beds were so comfortable I didn't want to get up in the morning! The breakfast at the hotel restaurant was worth getting up for, though. It was delicious! They also serve Starbucks in the lobby, along with a great convienence shop. Our stay was all around- excellent!

Great stay. I was there for a week-end it was nice and quiet. Clean and spacious rooms. They could improve their room service food quality, but other than that it was good!

The room was ok but the was no exhaust fan in the bathroom, nor was there ANY water pressure. Also the floors felt damp all of the time. I believe that it is due to the fact that there is no fan in the bathroom!

LOVE,LOVE,LOVE this hotel. We were greeted as soon as we pulled up to the doors. Check-in was fast. Rooms are nice and clean. We ate dinner in the resturant at the hotel. The food was great. The martinis were great as well.:-) We went to an event at the Civic Center that evening and we were giving a quick shuttle ride over. The beds are VERY comfortable. Loved the fluffy bedding. If you are planning a trip to Des Moines look no further.........this is your hotel! :-)

apparently the hotel was undergoing some renovation. The place seemed tired and dated. Very nice staff though and the room was very clean and comfortable.
